Nettee's Christmas madness

so 2013 has arrived and this is my year to get to target and to maintain. What will I weigh on 1st Jan 2014? That is really the most important thing not how quickly I get to target.

I have an exercising new years resolution intending to keep up the sw gold standard with walking and 10 min toning videos so that will help.

Yesterday started well but then in the evening it went down hill with a bit of home baking and the planned new years eve supper (which was really very pleasant so I don't regret it). A good evening although as usual I was asleep at midnight - nearly made it - asleep on the sofa at about 11.30.

Had a sneeky peek weigh this morning and I am 3lb up since Friday morning (not that surprised with all I have eaten and the fast day on Thursday) so with weigh in tomorrow I really need to pull myself together today and try again with success express. Only worry is that it is a bank holiday so dh is home and we will be having a nice day together but I have got cold meat and salad in so actually it shouldn't be a problem.

It will be interesting after all to compare a success express day to a fast day for immediate weight loss so maybe in the spirit of experimentation if not will power I should go for it!

Also did a bit of exercise which makes a start.

I did feel a bit underfed after lunch but kept snacking on the hexs and it has been ok. - weigh in tomorrow.... :scale:

Can I just ask - what is Success Express? I've read about it in the new 2013 pack but don't really understand it x
 
There is a sticky thread about it in the sw forum and a sample menu on line. I have got my info from the book really.

It is a bit confusing especially as you have to syn for example smoked salmon if you have it as a starter or a snack but not as part of your meals. Essentially it is like ee but with more super free.

I don't think I will do it that frequently, but it was good for an emergency - I am 1 3/4 lb down since yesterday. I think red feels as restrictive really. Quite a lot of hex snacking done yesterday whereas with red I would include the extra hexes in meals.

1 1/2 on this week - still not too bad especially as I have decided to start weighing in jeans now partly to make my target slightly lower on the home scales.

so 2.5lb in the two christmas weeks (or really 1lb according to my own scales hmmmm)

anyway it puts me 5lb above target. I have just bought a count down and I declared to my consultant that i won't be paying her again so had better focus. This gives me 5 weeks of losses to get to target and if I do it in 4 I won't have lost anything.

I think what I could do with this week is a back to basics extra easy consistent week. I shall hide the scales, stick to plan and see what the result is next week. it would be fab to get my 2.5 award back which would be a 2lb loss.

I am actually really pleased to still be in single figures in the nines even after Christmas. Also was thinking back to when I first joined sw in Jan 2011 at 11st1lb and I am amazed that here I am a baby later 1st and 6lb lighter than that! :D
 
Wow! Well done, especially after a baby! I'd love to be in single figures!

My lil girl is now 4 months and I'm half a stone lighter than I was prior to conceiving :) - still a fair bit to go but I know its not a short term fix and needs to be a whole lifestyle change x

I am 6 or so syns over today and maybe not quite 1/3 super free with dinner but all in all not a bad ee day :)
 
I admit I struggle fitting 1/3 superfree into every meal but do try to have superfree snacks instead.

Had 6 syns today - a Curly Wurly was just calling me lol.

WI tomorrow and I can't wait lol.

Chucked my scales as I was getting addicted to weighing (did have a sneaky weigh in my mums but they're prob not accurate as v.old and have never weighed on them before etc...) so WI tomorrow and I actually don't really know how much or even if I've lost.
Quite excited to find out - sad isn't it lol
 
Hope your weigh in went well - scary not having an idea before you step on the scales.

Today is going well for me so far. 9 syns and I am defrosting some extra lean mince for spag Bol or chilli tonight. Also have a hexa left for cheese :)
 
Lost 5.5lb this week - woohoo!! :-D

I'm having my first Green day and am making a SW pizza for tea tonight to celebrate! With a double cheese helping - loving the extra HEx!

Chilli sounds nice Nettee - never made Chilli though - how do you make it and could you make it with Quorn mince?

well done you - that is great! I have never done a green day - I think I should try one as I feel I have learned things like portion control from doing red days.

Chilli - well I use a recipe from an old good housekeeping recipe book but I am sure there would be a sw recipe on this website and on lifeline on line. basicially fry the onions (one big one diced), celery (one stick chopped) and chilli (one seeded and chopped), then fry the mince (500g), then add chilli powder(1 tsp or to taste), ground cumin (1/2 tsp), tomato puree (lots/ 1 tbsp), sugar/sweetener (1 tea spoon - syn if sugar but not very much), worcester sauce (1 tblsp), oregano (1/2 tblsp), beefstock (1/4 pint) and tin of chopped tomatoes. Cook for 30 min. Add kidney beans (one 400g can) cook for 10 minutes - eat. On a red day I keep the beans seperate and use them as my hexb. On an ee day I have it with rice and salad for super free. also cheese - hexa and or fat free yogurt on top

I am sure you could make it with quorn. Please do after all that typing and let me know how you get on!

Just been to Tesco after SW to get my food in for the week and bought Quorn mince - going to try your recipe tomorrow night.

I'll make enough for the 4 SWers cos my OH will be eating with me and will eat leftovers the next day :)

I've just made some Scan Bran cake - it's so dry and like swallowing lumps of cardboard! Its not even palatable with chocolate spread on top.
Nothing ventured nothing gained I suppose.

Yeah I was thinking of popping it in a jacket spud for lunch the day after - 2 birds with 1 stone...

OH quite excited to be having Chilli tomorrow - I only eat chicken and even then very rarely so he goes without a lot of his fave meals bless him. Didn't have the heart to tell him its Quorn mince though... Lol.
 
Oh and I hate exercise! Your really good to be trying to fit some in.

I nagged for kettlebells for Xmas but haven't even picked them up yet.

Really need to start though as otherwise I'll end up with lots of loose skin once I've lost the weight
 
Welli have done 15 minutes anyway, better than nothing. I found the The sw body magic awards motivating to get me started. Can't get the platinum one though because I keep stopping between challenges.
 
Well done!! Especially getting your awards as well - starting and maintaining exercise is something I can't do, I usually give up after a week or so.

I'll have to gey started with the Kettlebells though if I don't want loose skin.

Found a thread on here where someone posted pics of themselves pre-kettlebell and then after using them three times a week for 12 weeks - the difference was incredible!

Got a beginner kettlebell DVD somewhere where each workout only takes 10mins - hmmm where is it...
 
I was feeling so motivated and started to do so well and then from nowhere this afternoon I have had an attack of the munchies and had 2 alpen bars, white bread with jam and butter, left over pie with pastry, some dry crackers - when I was already reaching the maximum of syns. Never mind - I am used to drawing lines I will just have to draw another one. I am defrosting some lamb chops for dinner - will cut the fat off and have with potato and ..... oh dear not sure we have much in the way of veg in the house now - urgent shop coming up I think! feeling a bit low as well - post christmas slump or something. The house still needs a good sort out as usual and we have to get the holiday homework done. At least I have finished the thank you letters today and the homework is started.
