New Me, New Diary! Maintenance Begins

Monday 25th June

Received my last payslip and P45 from work today. Popped up there to see Elaine and co. got roped into making coffee for everyone. It was nice seeing them, but it hit home how glad I am to have resigned!

I've organised a BBQ for my ex workmates for the 7th July and am really looking forward to it. Everyone |I've invited has said they'd love to come, so have got to borrow another BBQ to cater for them all. Poor Scott;) He is BBQ chef in our household, I think he'll be stood there all night! I get the easy bit of making pasta, potato salad and the like.

Took Harley to the dentist for her filling. She was very good and let the dentist give her the injection, then off to the waiting room for it to take effect. Once back in the seat, panic set in, dentist had drilled out most of the rotton tooth and had a tiny bit to go and she refused point blank to open her mouth again:eek: Finally managed to talk her round into letting him finish off the filling, but it was touch and go for a while there! It also cost me dearly as I ended up bribing her with some new clothes to let him finish the job.

Off to college to sort out my portfolio. I only have next week left, which is infill assessment and I've finished the course. Got told tonight that it might not be til December when we get our certificates:sigh: I'd hoped for August so I could sort out insurance etc. Still it just means I won't be able to advertise for a while.

Got home to find Kim sitting with my nail box and puppy dog look on her face. I insisted on eating something first and then got to work on a set of french manicured acrylic nails. Once finished I got a thanks mum, as she flounced out the door off to meet boyfriend.

Then had the house to myself for a bit, as the other children were all tucked up in bed and Scott was out at darts.

Didn't hear anything from CD HO today regarding a new CDC, hopefully hear tomorrow. I've completed the questions for the counsellor training day, and am going to post them off tomorrow. Just hoping I've answered correctly, although I think they said we get a second chance at them. Not sure if you fail if just get a couple of things wrong:confused: I did read through all the literature though and found most of the answers in there. Can't remember guessing anything, so hopefully I'll be ok.

Hi Tracey,

Still in pain and still absolutely knackered, getting a bit and tired of it now.. putting more and more weight on! I know it will come off but it is so annoying when you've done it once!.. Can't wait for surgery (16th July) but that means I have to wait till October to come back on CD.. :O< at least I will be slim for Christmas! Well you never know..

You are doing really well though, glad you enjoyed your training day!

I've PM'd my email address to you...

It's good to have your decision confirmed though.

Any idea what made her go on strike at that point?

But you will be able to do manicures & all the posh nail-falsies? (sorry can't remember what they're called)

Didn't hear anything from CD HO today regarding a new CDC, hopefully hear tomorrow.
fingers crossed

Love it that you 'can't remember guessing'... you think that's a good sign tha you didn't guess or a bad sign that you can't remember what you put?

It seems a long way away but it's only 3 wks.& after the op,just cos you can't do CDdoesn't mean you can't do your own lowfat or low GI thing. Ifyou can keep some of it off that'll be good won't it?
You are doing really well though, glad you enjoyed your training day!

I've PM'd my email address to you...

Nikii you won't disappear after the op will you? We''l all want to know how you are getting on.

No Jane, I want desperately to get back to CD so will follow a low fat, have tried slimming world, but don't think a high amount of carbs agrees with me, so changing tomorrow!

I am always on here popping and reading comments, and giving encouragement when I can!

Feeling a bit low at the moment, so haven't posted much.

It's Thursday today, and I still haven't heard anything from CD HO regarding my new CDC or anything else:(:sigh: I've phoned twice and left messages on voicemail, but noone has returned my calls. I'm running low on my tetra's and am beginning to worry about that. Received a reciept today for my business kit, and I know it's awful, but I felt annoyed as they seem quick enough to sort that out!

Sorry for whinging, but I'm quite fed up. I had to chase them before about my training day, and know I'm wandering whether it's worth it. At the training day emphasis was put on how much support would be given, I'm beginning to wander if this is true.

My friend Sharon, was taken to hospital on Tuesday with a suspected heart attack:eek: She is 41!!! I've been beside myself with worry. She's rung me today and she is now home. They've told her she has angina, and will be running more tests and getting medication sorted out. What a shock for everyone, she's so young! I'm going to see her tomorrow.

Well all in all a crappy week so far and I have to be honest I took solace in a packet of bourbon biscuits last night. Which still goes to prove, when the going gets tough, Tracey heads for the high fat, high sugar foods:mad:

Thanks Kaz

I love the little bear:)

Sorry to hear about your friends husband, how awful!

It is so scary, I've lost 2 other friends in their 40's too, one with a heart attack and one through cancer. Makes you think about your own mortality. When I was younger I used to worry about my weight for cosmetic reasons, maybe that's why I have managed to stick to diet this time round as my main reason this time were for health, and having enough energy for the kids;)

Thanks for posting

After my rant in my last post this afternoon regarding CD. I got a phone call. They haven't had time to sort things out with my old CDC yet, and so haven't contacted my new one. I've been promised it will be sorted on Monday. I have enough tetras to keep me going til then:)

I thought I might have heard from my old CDC today as it is weigh in day and also the day she delivers my CD, but have heard nothing:sigh:

On the whole feeling a bit better as at least my phone calls have been returned, even though the situation isn't sorted.

Picking up guinea pigs for the children tomorrow. Scott has finished building the hutch, and the kids can't wait. So our 3 new additions to the family, will be living in style! The children were looking at web sites about how to care for your guinea pigs, and found one that stated they like to sit on your lap watching TV. So Deven has asked if she can sit with hers tomorrow watching Peppa Pig:D

Glad to hear you sounding a bit cheerier Tracey and that you finally got your call from HO, hopefully all will be sorted Monday.

So sorry to hear about your friend, it's very scary when it's close to home and someone in your age group, does bring you up short a bit. Hope she's ok though and you enjoy seeing her tomorrow.

It is still easy to take comfort in food, I don't think these bad habits ever leave us, and you need to be aware, but I often find now when I think I've blown it and had a binge and then compare it to what a binge used to consist of, it's nowhere near as bad and they happen a lot less often too.

Take care hun, keep your chin up :)

I got the distinct impression that they are rather short staffed up at HQ.

Try not to let this get you down. It'll happen in time.

I agree. The motivation to not let the kids down is rather stronger than merely wanting to be able to wear a trendy outfit on a friday night

Every small step in the right direction....as they say say.

hope you're feeling a bit more cheerful soon Tracey.

I think it will be. I haven't heard from my old CDC anyway, which I was worried about, so guess every thing will be ok.:)

I had a lovely morning with her, she was very chirpy considering what an ordeal she is going through.

That is so true!! I hadn't thought of it that way. But you are right, in the past a packet of biscuits was not considered a binge, a packet of biscuits, cinema pack of cheesy doritos and pot of cheese and chive dip and a bottle of coke was more like it:eek:

Take care hun, keep your chin up :)

Thanks Jan, as usual you've made me feel better:) Hope you've had a good day.

Bourbon quite understandable under the circs, but won't actually help her or you.

I know, did taste good though;) Just the guilt feelings afterwards left a nasty taste in my mouth!

LOL As previously discussed...it's our age don't you know:D

hope you're feeling a bit more cheerful soon Tracey.

Feeling a lot happier today, thanks Jane.

Have you noticed, I've managed to multiquote!!!! After months on Minimins I can finally do it:D

After my moaning yesterday, I felt quite awful, I watched all about the flooding and the lives that have been lost. Made my worries (not including Sharon) seem absolutely pathetic on the grand scale of things:eek: So I've bucked up my ideas and promise to moan no more.

Went to visit Sharon today. She's a wonderful person, she has lots to contend with at the moment and still has a cheery smile on her face! My hat goes off to her. She's obviously taking time off work at the moment, so next week we are having a pampering session. Pedicure, manicure and hair dye are on the agenda!:) Plus I've offered to do some housework for her, as she is still in some pain, and quite breathless and giddy etc. She is off for more tests next week too, but already has pills galore from the hospital. Until they are 100% sure of what they're dealing with, I presume the cocktail of drugs can't be sorted properly until all tests are complete.

After my visit I then went off to collect the new additions, 3 beautiful guinea piglets!:D Poor little mites squeaked with fear all the way home in a cat box stuffed with hay:( Got them settled in their hutch and am now a little concerned as they haven't moved much and certainly haven't eaten anything:sigh: The kids were so excited when they came home from school and wicked mummy had to tell them that until piglets had settled in they couldn't hold them! I want them to feel safe before they're subjected to watching DVD of Peppa Pig in the living room:rolleyes:

They have now all been named, Maggie, Blaze and Nibbles.

Also we are coming into a little bit of money:eek::eek: Scott's grandparents own an old cockle store on Whitstable beach, nothing fancy, the store has water, electric etc. and a cellar, there is also a beach hut on the land, but nothing grand scale. They've owned the store for over 40 years and now that Grandad is extremely doddery on his feet etc. they haven't been able to tend to it as they did, and so it had become a major concern to them. Getting to the point, they decided to sell it and then told us they wanted to split the money between us, Scott's parents and his sister. The store went on the market under private bidding, basically the estate agents put up a minimum price and all bids were then placed and at the end of alloted time, the highest bidder got it. It sold for £135,500.00:eek::eek::eek: My god, we didn't pay that for our house!!!!!!!!!!!

Prices down here have become crazy, I worry so much about how my kids will afford to buy homes. I can see them all staying with me!!!!!!!!!!:sigh:

You sound a lot better Tracey, you enjoy your pamper day with Sharon - That will be really nice...

And money - always handy!!

Hiya Tracey

Glad you're feeling brighter again, you're entitled to having a moan and an off day, we all have them and yes it does sometimes take a look at the world and what's going on around us to put things into perspective, but we all have a moan from time to time - got to be better to come onto your diary and get if off your chest I think :)

Glad you had such a lovely time with your friend, she's got a good friend in you that's for sure and you'll both enjoy your pampering days. It's lovely she's managing to stay upbeat, I hope she gets her medication sorted out soon.

Isn't is lovely to have an unexpected windfall, how nice, do you know what you're going to do with it?

Have the g.pigs been allowed out to play yet and watch the telly? :p I'm sure they'll settle in soon, we had two years ago, they were friendly but were always nervous little things, I had one when I was a child and he used to run around the lounge, boss the cats and fall asleep on a lap, he was a real sweetie :)

Have a good weekend

What a lovely surprise. How kind of them. I imagine you'll put it somewhere safe, but are there any little treats that you fancy for the family?

We feel the same. I expect many parents do. It is becoming a natiowide problem now rather than mainly london/ home counties. All v depressing.

ps well done on the multi-quote. Not quite sure why you couldn't do it in the first place:p
