New Year... New Start - onwards and downwards.

It was but that wasn't really a negative, it was almost a good thing. I really don't have the time, energy or motivation for any of this anymore.

What do you mean? Time, energy or motivation for what? Job-hunting? Isn't there a chance the school you are at will keep you on?

Yes, for job hunting. It takes a lot of time and nothing coming of applications and interviews really takes its toll on my levels of motivation and confidence that I'll find anything. There is a chance but they still don't know and it wouldn't be a permanent position.

Morning Sunshine!

When you get your job (and you will) -- we'll have to make this chair for you to sit on amongst the fruit.

I know that feeling. I feel unemployable at the moment and that I'll be stuck at Primark forever! But, we are intelligent people and we will find good jobs - try not to let it get you down. The right job will be right around the corner xx

Thanks Nef, nice to hear.

It is Friday, yay! Going to stay at school for an hour and write reports and then head home with a stop at the supermarket along the way. Aaron won't get here until about 8 now he's started the new job and doesn't finish until 5.

Happy Aaron Time! (I hope)

Morning all, thanks for the messages. I was really upset about the job but feel ok now. If it's the right place for me then a position will come up and he'll offer it to me, if not then I'll find something else.

Unfortunately food hasn't been great since the end of last week. I was fed up and didn't even bother to think about calories in the slightest. It's amazing how quickly a few lbs go back on even calorie counting, less than with something like S&S but I'd forgotten that you still empty out your glycogen stores to some extent. I've realised that I really need to start adding in fitness, it can't just be about my diet otherwise when I hit goal I won't maintain. I was hoping there would be a leisure centre here in town but even though there are two schools with massive pools, they're only ever used for schools, not exercise classes. The one that I used to go to with a friend last year is quite close now though so I'm going to go there. There's a dance aerobics on Tuesdays at 6 and Aqua Aerobics on Thursday at 7. Think I'm going to try and do both of those each week. I don't know what they charge for one single exercise class but I imagine that it's about £4, making it about £32 a month for 2 classes a week but as it's a council leisure centre and I work for the council I can get a monthly membership for £24 a month so I'm going to ask whether I can do that for 2-3 months, they say about a 14 day notice period but they don't mention anything about a minimum contract so hopefully. The other thing is that if I do a monthly membership I can go to other classes or use the gym as and when I want too.

I'll catch up on diaries this evening, hope you're all doing ok.

Morning Caz!

I'm glad you've "worked it out" and are looking up.

£24 is a good deal. Here its nearly £40 and individual classes are up to £5 each!

I'm going to need to buckle down. My family gave me lots of chocolate for Mother's Day -- I shared it -- saved save... But alas I ate quite a bit. Now, it's a detox thing as I'm quite a chocoholic.

I hope you have a lovely day at work.

Evening Caz! I just heard the base gym is finished (renovations). I'm going to check if our ASAP. If its good then I'll try to go there (close by and FREE). If it's not so great then I will need to use the local leisure centers. Either way I need to move it, move it.

You and me both, we need to make each other move it, move it!

I had come up with a plan but the blooming leisure centre has foiled it! was going to aim for aquafit on Tues and Thurs and then TurboJam 1-2 times a week at home. Seems that the times I mentioned earlier have changed and now there's only two aquafit classes a week, at 7pm on Tuesday and 7pm on... Tuesday. So it would be a double class on Tuesday and nothing else all week, so annoying! They have legs, bums and tums on Monday evenings but I don't really know what that involves, otherwise there's circuit training, spinning classes, zumba and the body classes that are part of the Les Mills exercise program thing. I don't know whether I'll bother joining now, I want to do Aquafit but otherwise, not sure about the others. I don't have the rhythm for Zumba, the stamina/fitness for spinning or circuit training, or the confidence for the Les Mills programs. I don't know what a legs, bums and tums class involves but it probably involves squats which I hate and aren't good for my knees! Really disappointed and annoyed :sigh:

I'm going to have to find a new gym when we move as the one I go to now is too far away from the new home :( and they don't have any gyms in the area, I think all the local one to the area are quite expensive, I'll have ot check out the pool at the lesiure centre, but know it won't be as good, my gym has individual showers and a lovely changing room, don't fancy the communal changing rooms they normally have at local pools

Not had the best of days food wise really, snacked on things that I shouldn't have. Few biscuits at break time and suddenly 250ish calories are gone. Two Graze punnets when I get home, that's another 300 calories gone. So 550 calories on snacks, I'm sure I could have had healthier, lower calorie stuff. Otherwise not bad I guess.

Breakfast: S&S bar
Break: Banana anda biscuits
Lunch: Thai Mug Shot, apple and a satsuma
Afternoon: Dark Rocky Road and Bonnie Wee Oatcakes Grazes punnets
Dinner: Pasta bake (Chicken, mushroom, onion and cherry tomatoes in WW rocket and mozzarella sauce with cheese on top) and a Strawberry Activia yoghurt

Calories for the day: 1725
Exercise burn: 476 (20 minutes of Turbo Jam)

Bit high calorie wise but I'll make sure I don't snack so much tomorrow, fruit and veg snacks only!

What on earth is Turbo Jam and did you do 20 mins of it at the gym or at home? And.......are you OK with going to Aquafit on your own now? Before you wouldn't go without your sis.

It's an exercise routine with lots of kicking, punching etc. This video isn't from the routine I do but it gives a rough idea of what it's like.

I've got to just suck it up and go by myself, I'm too far from others for them to come with me. I've been to this class before too so don't mind so much, I know that it's a good class with a nice instructor.
