Hi everyone, im back on cambridge diet, wanting to get 2stone off asap as getting married this year and wanna be able to wear lovely summer clothes and not be wearing jumpers etc to hide my fat! Ive been up and down weightwise last few years and just want it to end i wanna get to goal, follow maintenance and have a healthy attitude to food and my body for the first time in forever. X

Hi welcome to the forum and good luck with Cambridge. You will find a lot of support here.

Welcome to the forum good luck with your chosen plan, is there a reason you have chosen the Cambridge?

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone :)

The caretaker - ive done cambridge previously, losing five stone but stupidly didnt follow the maintenance plan -doh! gained 2 stone back so just here to finish the job and go up the plan properly, im getting married soon so times not on my side and i know the weight will come off fast even though with maintenance it will be much longer journey overall but i'm much more mentally prepared for it now. x

hey,

Good luck, sounds like you know what you want :D and are determined to get it :D
you said back on, how did you find it?

I loved being on cambridge as bonkers as that sounds! i won't get all deep on here but im a compulsive overeater and taking 'real' food out of the equation for me was a godsend. This time around i'm getting me head to keep up with my shrinking body lol and actually keep the weight off. How are you getting on? x

Hi Mermaid

I am also a newbie on here, thought it would be a good place to get support and stay focused. I have 2.5 stones to shuft as the weight gain is making me miserable! I am on day 2 of Lighter life, looking forward to Ketosis kicking in, as the carb withdrawal symptoms are pretty rough! I think the Cambridge diet is pretty similar, struggling with a all the water intake, how are you finding it?

Hi Lola, day one for me today, not finding it too bad so far, it's the night times that get me though, so the first three nights are going to be the most challenging for me :s just gotta avoid the little naughty voices in my head and be strong, can't wait to get into ketosis! Where are you from hun? x

Hi Mermaid, I know those little voices can be irritating.. I declined an offer of Sunday lunch today, feeling rather smug about it, I am going to try and embrace the empty feeling! I bought some Pukka Detox tea, which is lovely and helping with Ethernet hunger pangs. Have you told anyone? Hubby knows but am keeping it on the quite generally, I find people aren't always that supportive at the start. I am from Cambridgeshire, you?

Only my OH knows, i told people the last time i was on it and just can't be bothered with everyones i know everything attitude when it comes to this diet haha. Gonna be harder thinking up excuses why i can't have something theyve made but so be it! Gotta say sunday dinner is a killer for me, it's why im kinda glad it's my start day and weigh in day cos it'll give me a boost every week seeing numbers go down and not get me tempted to stray, me mam makes a sunday dinner for the family every week, so looks like im avoiding the next xxxx amount of sundays over there haha.

You should feel smug hun, everytime we say no to something its an achievement and should be proud of yourself, i go day by day as each day is full of challenges, mainly involving food! lol so tick each one off and you'll get stronger each time.

ive never heard of pukka detox tea, sorry if it's daft question but what exactly is it? taste? ingredients? ive got peppermint tea as its meant to be good for the tum and i have issues with that and some green tea to boost metabolism apparently!

I'm from the northeast, Sunderland if you've heard of it? x

I have heard of Sunderland, never been- only through it to Newcastle. The 'mam' gave it away :) I was obsessed with Geordie Shore, heard of that? Proper car crash reality TV but I loved it!

It's a gorgeous day here, but am avoiding the outside world until I feel better. I even ordered some new digital scales which am hoping will make me feel better next Saturday, my official weigh in. It will be hard not to jump on them every day, but am hopeful for a really good loss.

I think my main challenges are going to be at work, I am just going to have to munch my bars and drink my water without drawing too much attention to myself. I just can't be dealing with the grief:)

Pukka Detox Tea: herbal tea, it has organic aniseed, fennel and cardamom, it tastes like liquorice and its really warming, they have loads of flavours and you can have it on LL programme. Peppermint tea is also good, I heard that Sophie Dahl ( who used to be plus sized model) had loads of green tea when dieting, can't be a bad thing and if nothing else - it will give your skin a glow! I also have a savoury broth on the LL, kinda like an oxo cube, tastes pretty good.

Hope you have a great week! X
