Newbie - Starting Sunday!

Hi All,

I have been reading this forum for a few days and thought it was about time I said hello.

After lot's of research I picked Exante for a few reasons.

1. You all seem to like the food!
2. It seems to work
3. I have a busy lifestyle and cannot fit in a weigh in meeting
4. It's much cheaper than others!

A few years ago I lost 5 stone on WW, I was feeling great even though I was still 2 stone off goal. For a variety of reasons I fell off the wagon and never got back on. And it all slowly went back on.

I'm 35 and my doctor recently told me I am going to die young unless I make serious changes. This really spurred me on and made me think long and hard.

I am worried about not weighing in at a meeting though, this kept me on the straight and narrow for a long time with WW. Having looked around in my area, there are no WW / SW / LL meetings that I am free to go to due to other commitments I have (My daughter is a promising young athlete and I have to take her training several times a week).

Anyway, can't start until Sunday as we had already planned to visit my Grandad and take him for lunch on Saturday. In the meantime I have been pigging out on all my fave foods and the weird thing is, I just feel sluggish and cant' wait to get going :)

hey there and welcome....don't worry about the lack of WI....u can create ur diary and do a weekly in there and we will see :D

i gained another 3lbs in last minute eating before starting this.... LOL. So my advice don't eat too much in preparation for this programme

Thanks - that's a good thought. If I lose 4lb in the first week but put 3 on this week that's only 1 lost!!

jojo, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you weigh? Best of luck to you, I'm just finishing my 3rd day :) My doctor gave me bad news too, about having arthritis in my knee, and was talking about knee replacement surgery etc, my head was spinning and that was bad enough, so I can't imagine how it must have felt to have been told what you were. I think what PurpleAngel said about weighing in on here is a good idea, and an option a lot of people choose x

I won't be sure until I weigh in on Sunday when I start, but I am guessing minimum 18st.

I went to the docs worried about stomach pains as my Mum has Barrett's syndrome that can turn to cancer and I was worried - Barrett's esophagus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

She basically said all my symptoms were most likely my weight. She said I drink too much (few glasses of vino most nights, more at weekends) and I smoke. At 35 I am a walking heart attack.

It's so depressing that I lost 5 stone on ww and got to 13st a few years ago and threw it all away. I actually felt good, and human for the first time in years.

This time is different. I know how it feels to lose weight, it's fantastic. Bit I know how it feels to throw that away and while we are all allowed a few treats, if it becomes habit, it is no longer a treat and it affects our health.

Well today is the day! I weigh myself for the first time in ages this morning, it wasn't quite as bad as I expected - 17st 8lb. I just had a half pack of porridge (want to save some for later) and it's really nice. Filling too, I think a whole pack in one go would be too much.

I went to the doctors again on Friday and told her I was doing this diet and she was very supportive. I have to go for a weigh in with her once a month and to have my blood pressure checked as it's quite high and she is hoping to see it come down as the pounds come off. I think this will also help me stay on track.

I know I am in for a tough few days before I get into ketosis but I'm feeling very strong, positive and excited this morning so hopefully those feelings will carry me through.

I think I'll be hanging around here a lot for more support from you lovely people!

Hi Jojo, wishing you the best of luck - you can do it!

Good Luck Jo Jo!! The first week is the toughest focus on getting to next sunday 100% on packs and you will feel amazing when you reach it. Focus on your goal and dont let food thought run away with themselves. As soon as I think of food I just think about how much weight ive to lose and it will only set me back!!
Im sure you will do great
x

GOOD LUCK from me too! I hope it goes well, its yours if you really want it.

Hi, just want to wish you the best of luck jojo. You'll be finished the 1st week before you know it. x

Hi hunny we are all here for you I've lost over 8 stone so if I can do it anyone can lol you will do great and once ketosis sets in its a breeze yes the cravings are there but it's not hunger it's cravings! Xx

I'm about to finish my first week (day 7 tomorrow) and have been 100%, can't believe I haven't cheated at all but it's a great feeling to have knowing that you've made it, so keep it up, and try to keep busy if you start to feel tempted. Remember - the food will still be there when you're at target x

Thanks all, it's nice knowing there is support on here.

Just had a thai chicken soup which was not bad at all. I will probably add a bit of chilli powder next time to spice it up a bit.

I'm feeling good so far, not been too starving but I think the water helps with that. I'm saving my last soup for a late as possible though.

I try to save my soup and bar for around 7/8ish as that's when I feel like picking at food, I assume you're an evening muncher too? lol x

I have 2 of my products on a evening/night too. My lunch is 12.30-1.00 p.m., dinner 6.30-7.00 p.m. and my supper at 8.00-9.00 p.m.

I'm only on day 4 but been 100%. Determined this time though so trying to get my head to stop thinking about my next meal hahaha. Night times are definately the worst time for me though.

Well done Mia, being 100% is no easy feat! I was considering having a takeaway at some point next week earlier on, need to get my head back in the game!

Probably didn't help that I'd only had the bar all day, need to make sure I'm not hungry when I start considering crazy plans for naughty food lol
