orlistat and xenical?

Is there a difference between Orlistat and xenical?
I was prescribed orlisat a few years ago and had horrible side effects, but i did abuse it alot. Didn't follow any diet just ate what i wanted. Luckily i never left the house so was always close to the loo. I'm going to the drs tomorrow to see if i can go back on it, and just wondered if there was any difference?

Hi Nicki, Orlistat is the drug that is in Xenical, Xenical is just the trade name. The same drug is in Alli and is available over the counter, but only half the strength of Xenical. Hope that helps and good luck at the doctors.

nope its totally the same thing =D xenical is just like a branding name.
