Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

Just out of interest, when she goes down at 7, what time was her bottle before that?
I'm just trying to work out if it's worth a go...

She'd kinda cluster feed in the evening. So she might have had a bottle at 6 then another at 7... Then whenever I'd b going to bed if give the dream feed.

I done exactly the same as Katie. Start making her less cosy to ensure she got her feeds at 4 hour intervals. Anything more n she'd wake in the night

Oliver doesn't really sleep for more than 2 hours at any one time during the day so I don't have the problem of having to wake him, it's more when he falls asleep half hour or so before his next feed is due and then sleeps through it!
Plus today he's a bit all over the place, cos of his jabs- he's really clingy and grumpy :-/
He seems really happy with going 5 hours between feeds.
I've prob just got a baby that's not a sleeper lol.
My MIL told me that my hubby wasn't a great sleeper as a baby so I think that's where he gets it from!!

Did any one get upper back pain near the end? Not that i have had a good nights sleep in a while but last night was even worse was very glad when OH alarm went of at 6 so i could get up ha ha ! X

I didn't but I'd imagine, it's to do with muscles relaxing n others tensing to accommodate the bump

Should I be worried that Oliver isn't taking full bottles?
Since Tuesday (his jabs) he's only been taking 3-4oz of his 7oz bottles but he's still going 5 hours between, meaning he's only taking somewhere between 15-20oz a day instead of 35oz!!!
He's very grumpy and clingy too...

How is his sleeping? Nappies? If those are normal I wouldn't worry. Unless it carries on long for more than a week xx

Nappies are fine, he has one stinky nappy every other day and the rest are wet.
Sleeping- he's a little bit more restless than normal so takes longer to settle him but otherwise he's ok- last night he had bottle at 9:15, sleep by 10, bottle at 1:30, sleep by 2, bottle at 5:45, sleep by 6:15 and awake at 8.
Next bottle he had at 11:15, had a bath and went down for a nap about 15 mins ago.
I'll keep an eye on it, hoping it's just his jabs that have unsettled him and he'll be back to normal soon xx

It might be from the injection.
Or is he starting a leap maybe?

Yea hun. It's a leap x

He's already gone through that leap, the app says he's got about 6 days until the next leap... Cos it goes on due date that actual birth date and I was due nearly 14 weeks ago!!!
Maybe it's the tail end of the last one, jabs and then the beginning of the next leap all at once??

Just so I know, what are the main signs of teething?
As he's 12 weeks old, I'm guessing that'll start soon!

Cole goes through stages where he doesn't want his milk. What size teats do you have on his bottles? Because Cole seemed to get fed up of sucking so we moved him onto the size 2 teats.

Yea teething starts around now. Tho u may not see teeth for a good while yet
Actually going off bottles can b a sign. Mayb run bonjela on his gums a few mins before a bottle as sucking may b hurting him

He has size 2 teats on his bottles and seems happy enough with them...
I shall grab some bonjela on my way to parents in a bit and see if that helps...

Regarding teat sizes while we're on the subject. When did u move up? Mia has dr brown bottles n teat 1. I thought she had passed the growth spurt but maybe not. I make her 5oz bottles up but doesn't always drink it, I upped the oz as few wk back she was draining 4oz. she takes a long time to drink a bottle n through the night she might only have 2oz n fall asleep. I'm just wondering whether this is why she is only going 2 hrs between feeds as she isn't drinking much through the night n sometimes only 3 a time through the day xx

I think Cole was about 12 weeks. He seemed to get fed up of sucking so he'd just stop but then he'd be hungry a couple of hours later and was also only going two hours. Moving up a teat size and putting him on Hungry Baby milk helped and he started going 3 hours between feeds during the day but he didn't start going 4 hours until he was weaned at 17 weeks. Xx

We swapped at 12 weeks due to anti reflux formula. Dr browns bottles really do slow down their feeding. When we tried a size 2 with normal formula it was running out faster than he could swallow x

See Mia is only 7 weeks so I'm not sure. I can only try I suppose n if she seems like she's getting it all over her then obv not ready. so u moved over to hungry baby milk at 12 weeks? the health visitor put me of saying it's not that good for them. Suppose they don't always know best, my mum had me on hungry baby milk when I was a baby. xx

Éabha only went up a teet size at about 5 months... She was fine with number 1's
Other babies go up allot sooner n some just don't...

Our HV always used to tell me not to use it so I didn't tell her. Some people say it makes their babies constipated but it never did with Cole. Each baby is different though, some it's probably horrible for whereas others it's brilliant xx

Thomas was about 14 weeks when we moved up, he was taking over half an hour to finish a bottle.
