Prune Juice? Sugars? Constipation

I'm suffering sluggish digestion and am hydrating well and having fruit and fibre but ow constipated. I was suggested 8oz/400ml or more of Prune Juice but worried about sugars even though its mostly sorbitol. First off, does prune juice really work for constipation? Have drunk a large glass and feel another glass may be needed.
 
Hi, I read that 30g of dried figs (3 figs, 3 syns) are high in calcium and can help if you’re not having 2 healthy extras per day & despite their high natural sugar content they have a low glycemic index & contains n fibre. Your blood sugar will be less affected if you cut the figs up & eat with 0% fat unflavoured natural or 0% fat greek yoghurt. These help to regulate me.
