Purple Hugs - Babe in arms!!

Thanks mrs dyer, I feel better knowing that all is likely ok, i did suspect it as it wasn't anything sharp to fall on and I'm well 'padded' in my tummy still. So am not being paranoid over it, just would have like to have avoided it.. am surprised graham didn't tell me off! lol he was trying to insist on leading him all the way but the scare was not long after the road and railway which I had to lead him through as he trusts me more.
Still.. i'll know to be more careful next time.

Will let you know how I get on tomorrow :) Scan is nice and early. :)

It is worrying when we fall. I fell acouple of weeks ago, had flip flops on and tripped on some decking. I fell on my side thankfully. Can't wait to hear about your scan.

Glad you were ok Lisa - lucky one though ((hugs)) I guess we just have to be more careful eh! lol
My horse has really settled in well and was ultra pleased to see me this morning :) he had a snack (he's overweight at the moment) in his new stable though he was very  when I asked him to walk into a dark strange smelling doorway! lol he'll soon get used to it again :) He'd rolled in mud most of the night by the look of him so had a lovely grooming session - i'm one of those weirdo's that enjoys grooming their horse! lol

Well... the scan was FAB! :) lcd tv in front of hubby and I with full view of everything sonographer did! :D Saw the placenta, cord, measurements, head, skull forming, everything! lol Sonographer was lovely explained everything perfectly and I really hope I see her next time! :D She has said we can take our girls next time but that they'll see me alone for a few mins first then bring in hubby and the girls, just in case. will be fine doing it that way I just feel they'd love to see it and it's a once in a lifetime for it to be their sibling. ;)

Here you are.. what you're waiting for really!

And yes.. one pic does look like an alien!! :p I don't mind your saying it! lol Just shows those early pics on the tickers are right eh! lol

Oh and dates are right at 12 weeks so that's great news too.

8 weeks till next viewing! ;)

Thanks kirsty :) I know it's a bit of a risk with the girls going to it if something is wrong - but the benefits will outweigh the risks I think :) Erin is a sensible kid so she'll understand I'm sure. :)

Thanks :)
I've just read up my notes and baby is 12 weeks 2 days according to their dates.. so that makes my due date 20th Dec - officially! :)
I like the earlier and earlier approach! lol maybe I'll have baby in arms for xmas! :)

Well all is well, am feeling less pregnant though nearly threw up in the loo after cleaning it today! lol that is the only nausea since the park! lol

Have checked out maternity allowance today with the jobcentre and with the national insurance office for the self employed. I am fine to qualify for it, so that'll be handy, it's £123 a week for 39 weeks so is not bad going, no SMP as I'm self employed but the good news is I took over paying my NI stamps over a year ago and if I hadn't I wouldn't have qualified for it, and when you add up how much that is it's just under £5k in 9 months :)

Am also going to set up my hubby as self employed in my 'business' of freelance admin, he can do admin but the main reason is that after fostering stops there will be a gap in his CV and that's never a good thing, so this way he's self employed still and we can still look for more clients and he can 'do' the work! lol while I'm on maternity leave technically. :)

So.. thats our plan till next year, and we'll see how the money goes and how we can promote the business till then. :) We won't be rich at all but we should cope. :) Assuming my car doesn't die or some such thing! lol

apart from hunger and tiredness I don't even feel pregnant at the moment it's great! lol 2nd trimester is a wonderful thing :)

Have bought a few little bits for the baby box (nail clippers and the likes), just little things that will all add up if bought together :)

lol PH my baby box has become a baby cupboard :) I had a load of vouchers that needed using so we have nappies and some clothes already. Along with all the bottles/steriliser/monitor etc, sling that we got cheap second hand, comforters/rattles we got at the baby show.... we may need a bigger cupboard!

time to get the nursery done I think! lol
I have been holding off, but have the cot, moses basket, some clothes we had already but that's about it so far. Will get the steriliser after my next scan :) as it'll be full steam ahead then.
Got my scan date through for 5th August at 9am :) am looking forward to it, but the strange thing i'm looking forward too is having a tummy like all the mums I saw the other week! they looked HUGE compared to me! lol

Spent a lovely morning with my pony, tacking him up in his bridle, a back pad you use for training etc, will do this each day now and then when he settles to wearing them I'm ready to start long reigning him. :)

lol crazy aren't we!! But you have a bump in pics so are waaaay ahead of me! lol I'll look fat for some time yet as have a baggy tummy.

lol we'll get there.. remember when we were whinging we wanted to be 12 weeks ! ;) We'll be whinging at 20 weeks we want to be 40! :p

Have just got back from a neighbours BBQ, I'm veggie and as usual was limited in what I could eat! lol had to nip home for some sausages of my own. :) was odd not even being able to have a single drink, I don't drink very much anyway but would have one or two at an occasion like that... still it'll be worth it in the end.

Kids are shattered now, Adele goes to bed at 7.30 normally but is still up. Will settle them soon.

Well 13+3 today :) feeling less tired now, still eating a bit more than I should but trying to curb that. :)
I weighed myself this morning.. and have put on 5lbs since I last weighed!!! FIVE POUNDS.. my goodness. I'm now 13st 6lb so going to need to keep an eye on what and when I'm eating, and try to cut back.
Thing is though some healthy things are still making me feel 'eewww'..
Am back on fruit now though so that's good news. :)

Am waiting for social work team to ring regarding moving our foster child. we were planning for July but may well be this week or sooner rather than later as she's really not settled.
So todays task.. to go through the tip that is her room - she is not a tidy girl and hides junk like you wouldn't believe! Joy!!

Rain here today but been really nice weather recently. :)

passed my observation part of my college course last night, so hoping to pass the course :) it finishes next week - am looking at college courses for 2010 (sept), with hubby home to look after bubba :)

Have been to college this morning to pick up application form and details I've been waiting for through the post, part time course for 2 years, 2 days a week is £130 - The full time course is 5 days a week but wouldn't be able to commit to that till Sept 2010.
So I'm applying for the part time and if I don't get in then I'll wait till Sept 2010. :) Fingers x'd I get in though. :D
Will be nice to carry on moving forward even with baby on it's way. The admissions reasurred me it would be ok to aim to do the course with a view of just missing a week or two when baby comes. :) Assuming all is peachy with the pregnancy in the last 3 months of course.
And given my due date I may not even miss any weeks as baby is due during the xmas break! lol

it's an access to health and social studies. :) I've just completed - well it finishes next week, an introduction to counselling skills which I thoroughly enjoyed, but I'm not 100% sure if I'll follow the path of counselling/psycology or whether I should go into a form of nursing - partly the bursery would be handy and not having to pay any fee's for the degree. With counselling the courses are part time and you have to fund them yourself, psycology is a degree course and full time, which you can get funding for, so I'll need to make up my mind over the next year which path to take! :)
With fostering as a background there is also the Social work aspect, but again I'm not 100% sure about that as I know the burn out rate is really high.

So.. here I am at the beginning of a road with a big cross roads ahead! lol
But it does feel great to still be on the path for more study, with my being pregnant I wasn't sure if I'd be sat 'out' for a year. :)

I was pregnant while doing my degree. In fact took my books into hospital when he was born - in those days you were in about 10 days - and took my exams when he was 4 weeks old.

I did an Open University degree. Have you looked at their website and prospectus?

Irene xx

How cool to have passed it so soon after your baby was born! :) What did you study? qualify in?

I was in hospital for 3 days with Erin, could have used a distraction for sure! lol I am hoping for a home birth this time, fingers x'd.

Have been interested in doing nursing or midwifery for years now, but never had the chance to commit to the study. I've really enjoyed the course I've been on and as it's been coming to an end I've realised I would really miss studying, so this will be great if I can get onto this years intake. :) Fingers tightly crossed.

Will have a look at the open uni :) thanks
