Purple Hugs - Babe in arms!!

pah.. am off to bed now! lol
baby still awake but BH have died down.. night night x

Oh just noticed.. i'm in the 'teens' on days till due date! lol 19 days to go! Bonus!! ;)

all quiet on the western front! lol baby and I slept from 2am till 7.20am (two snoozes on my alarm) lol Baby woke for about 10 mins but has gone back off now! lol

Off to town after my horse :) eldest is home still but much improved.. school won't take her back so she's getting another 'home' day, though we're nipping to town to get her to choose a present for a friend this weekend as she has a party.

glad your day got better hon :)

one day soon those BH will just keep on going :D can't believe you're in the teens!!

abz xx

Thanks girls - yes the BH will be 'real' one day and I can't wait! lol Keep hoping tomorrows full moon will help - I was never this impatient with Erin! lol

Mrs D - it's been pretty smooth thankfully - apart from low iron but that's been sorted now with supplement and eating for iron! lol Have just replied to your thread and really truly sending huge hugs but great to have you back on the board! please don't be a stranger again x x

Well am off to bed.. BH's have been going strong since 7pm but have settled to every 10-15 mins (they were 4-5 mins apart earlier). So am hoping I can sleep now!
Baby has been a bit quiet tonight but she's let me know she's moving so fingers x'd all fine and I get a good night - and that she doesn't wake in a minute ready to 'party'! lol

Morning PH!

These BH's are coming thick and fast! Hmmm i wonder... hehe

Cant be long now sweet, 18 days til due date, what a wonderful christmas present!

Sending loads of love and luck to your little baby!

xxxxxx

No news girls so sorry! Am getting a bit fed up with them now.. or trying not to be anyhow!
Went to bed and they changed to 5 mins apart again! grrr lol and stronger too.
But.. alas despite 'dozing' and waking up - they eased at.. 2am! lol yes they seem to have a pattern and I'm not thinking maybe things are moving where I can't see as had period pains etc.
Also am a cranky moo this morning! lol first time really that i've felt overly emotional for ages.
Am a bit 'snotty' thanks to DH's cold, and tired.. but hey ho. lol

18 days isn't long eh - and if I go over it's still not that long really.
I can't believe it's a week since I saw MW last.. I had the option of a check up this week or wait, but I chose to wait till next week as don't want to go too often for nothing. They won't check anything except position / growth etc.
So.. onwards and upwards. :) I must admit I'm much more impatient this time around at this stage. But then didn't have BH with my eldest at all.

Oh baby is still a bit quiet - so settling ready for action perhaps? lol But she woke with the alarm this morning as normal, and she kicked her dad while we were still in bed bless her! lol he giggled and said she wants her breakfast! :p So she's still well.

ooooh ooooh I am hoping that full moon will kick something off too =)

Have also been looking at accupressure to induce labour, there's a pressure point right between your thumb and index finger and a couple by your ankle, tried em yesterday but was already having bhicks so can't say they had much of an effect. I have also read that evening primrose oil as lots of prostaglandins which you can take orally or by (ahem) other means!

I have had a real burst of nesting energy today, went to the garden centre bought lots of primulas, heathers and cyclamen & minature daffs already in flower , plus a very very cute small cuddly festive roodolf! I have had a bit of an energy crash now though so am having an hour just sitting and vegging.

Oooh your poor kid fainting! it's good that she's been able to have some rest from school though.
Good to hear everything else sounds a-okay, but I'm with you on the noctunal kicking and bhicks... last night was the first time in as long as I can remember that I wasn't up at 3am-5am. I did wake up, as the moonshine made it look like dawn outside, but I managed to waddle to the loo and then return to sleep.

anyway must be off now, have had 2 days doing naff all at home, just couldn't bring myself to do it, now I seem to have an energy spurt I had better get on and do something with it! bye for now =)

Aww the gardening sounds fab! This is the first year I haven't planted up loads - I just can't bear the bending! lol and my knees can't handle me! lol

I am having BH's since 3pm today.. so that's an early start for me.. hopefully they'll ease earlier too! lol wishful thinking.

I haven't looked at inducing methods as don't want to go there to be honest, would sooner wait till baby is ready to spark things off. I know sex or oral sex helps.. the sperm has hormone in it that is produced by us naturally.
Where.. do you put the evening primrose!? lol Clary sage or castor oil is something i've heard of but gotta be real careful if you use anything too strong.. castor oil isn't supposed to be very safe from what I've heard.. or nice as it gives you the runs.. lol

took the girls to see father xmas tonight at a christmas tree farm a little bit away from us - not too far. :) Was really enjoyable with a 'walkway' through a barn that was all magical. Live reindeer, goats, sheep, lambs and piglets. Both of them had fun and were amazed when father xmas played a 'trick' on them at the end outside with a foam 'explosion'! lol I captured a great photo of my eldest smothered in it! lol Should've seen her face! lol
Finished off with dinner at Pizza hut and we're home happy. lol

Am full of DH's cold now.. so hoping that doesn't last long!

to be honest, am only looking at natural induction techniques because I have been told that baby is likely to already be on the big side (if she was small or average size I wouldn't care if she stayed in til New Year)!

I know they don't always get the weight right, but I really have grown frightenly quickly in the last 6 weeks and they thought she was about 8lb nearly a week ago. She was estimated to have put on 2.5 lbs from the previous scan a month before. My bump seems to be growing exponentially & I am just worried that there maybe complications if she stays in past her due date. And my midwife says they won't induce until 40 weeks plus 12 days, even if the baby is known to be big. If it comes to that, I will try and talk to an obstetrician. I still find my mw difficult to communicate with. My bp was up again today & my feet look like balloons but she said we'd just have to keep an eye on it then said she couldn't see me for 2 weeks!

Anyway, nuff about me! the evening primrose can be used as a suppository or taken the usual way. I wouldn't try cod liver or caster oil, have heard it can just cause strong contractions with little progression and can distress baby. I suppose I will just keep trying with the evening primrose oil, bouncing on my ball and keeping active. I am also hoping the full moon will help! Glad your enjoying Chrimble things...have just put up the Christmas tree with hubby and hung the stockings, have to go out and get one for babs tomorrow! how exciting =)

I can understand the reasons - didn't mean to sound horrible ((hugs)). I'm just a funny bugger on anything like that! lol and know it'd drive me nuts 'trying'. The only thing that I'm trying so far is good old 'hubby action' lol seem to be more up for that now than I was at the beginning of my pregnancy! lol but it's not on purpose.

I'm not seeing my MW for another week - so that'll be 2 weeks - she did offer 1 week but to be honest I think it'd be more of a pain. but then I'm not puffy.. surprised she's so relaxed when you're puffy. ((hugs)) if you're at all concerned get onto the hospital x

Aww how lovely you'll be shopping for babys stocking!

I nearly bought 3 new ones tonight! lol we have 3 as have always had them for a foster child that matches our girls ones.. but I wish I could buy new! lol
I have a couple of ornaments for the tree when baby arrives - one saying Nadolig Llawen which is happy christmas in Welsh and the other a little bootie with 'babies first christmas' on it! :D can't wait to see if they go up this year or next! lol We bought a daughters first xmas card too just in case she arrives and I can't make it to the shop! lol

oh sweet! didn't even think about getting a card.

Cornish is very like Welsh me thinks as Merry Christmas is 'Nadelik Lowen' (ha Bledhen Nowyth Da= and a happy new year).

I did learn the Cornish language when I was little, it's a dead language now as no one has spoken it fluently in everyday life since the 18th century, but I got several certificates in it in when a nipper. All I can remember is 'what's the weather like today' and 'beans on toast'! I used to know the lord's prayer in cornish and one year we did carol singing with my cornish teacher and sang them all in cornish. That seems a life time ago though =)

Aww that's a shame about cornish being unspoken these days. My uncle is English but lives in the highlands (married to my scottish aunt from there). He he has spent years learning Gaelic and is fluent now - my aunt doesn't speak any! lol It's not a well spoken language at all and is a shame.
I'd love to do more welsh - just finding time. We surprise people around here, as encourage our children to speak welsh and my youngest is really good at switching from one to the other. Colours, numbers, songs, talking the lot - and I expect baby will be the same. My eldest has always been shy in coming forward but is doing well in her welsh lessons so I think she's just not as confident. It's compulsory in school as is English. And in secondary they do GCSE Welsh. :)

Maybe it would be nice to find a group or class or something if there is one in Cornish.. or start one! lol a bit of a legacy for your baby ;)

well it's gorgeous in the garden tonight! Moon is high and bright! :D DH laughed at me stood out there moon worshipping! lol he laughed as he said 'don't go into labour tonight.. i'm too tired'! lol I just laughed and said I WANT to go into labour tonight.. I don't want to wait for the next full moon on the 31st! lol
Sadly my BH's are mild and around 10 mins tonight.. maybe I should get DH 'active'! lol ;)

Ahh what will be will be.. :)

the moon was looking lovely here too, would have taken a photo, but know they never look the same as what you see with the naked eye.

I have had no bhicks to speak of today, but had so many yesterday couldn't feel if baby was moving at all.

But today very little bh but baby has been kicking me solidly just below my right ribs for the last 3 hours (I wondered if she was commenting on the hot earl grey and large slice of pannetone I had just consumed).

It is reassuring I bet it will feel a bit weird not feeling something moving when she's actually out lol!

Glad all is going well :) and yes I know what you mean about moon pics. :)

Well have had some seriously sore BH today.. still not contraction soreness though.. :p but pulling on my back, period aches and tight tight tight.. so fingers x'd they're stepping up again. Not regular though.
Bought some Fenugreek for during breast feeding today and some raspberry leaf tablets which i started today.
Keep scaring people who ask how long I have to go now.. i get 'oooooh really not long' or 'oooh goodness' lol feels good to say 2 weeks though! lol
Am feeling like a snail out walking now though.. even DH said he feels like a car moving in slow traffic! lol bless him he's always been a faster walker than me and now it's worse than ever! lol

Well after my sore BH's they seem to have eased into more comfortable BH's :) So guess my body knows when it's had enough! lol
Baby has been really low again today but kicking around fine. :) keeping me company bless her! lol

Planted some tree's today for the tree oclock campaign which was a world record attempt between 11am - 12pm - we planted a hazel in the front. and 3 others in the back. They're all for my children.. 2 girls I have now, my baby, and a baby I lost a few years ago - would have been 4 in january. I have chosen a Wild Cherry for our lost baby as that is traditional to the chinese to remember a lost loved one.

Am enjoying today being lazy etc, and cosey indoors.. it's wet and getting dark outside now.
Eldest DD is off to a cinema party today so not back till 7pm or so. She left at 2pm.

Keep telling myself to iron the moses basket cover but for some reason it's not happening.. not sure whats going on with my head in this pregnancy! lol I can see me ironing it mid labour at this rate! lol

Am 38 weeks tomorrow.. hard to believe! And am amazed everyday at the advent calender countdown!

And the sore BH's stepped up a gear last night! lol got off lightly till bed time then wham.. they were sooooo sore - and 5 mins apart. I stayed in bed, as baby was active between them and came right up to the top of my tummy - I was stroking her in between them she seemed to feel it and it helped me! lol Around 1.30am they eased and we both drifted off.
I can't pretend I didn't wonder if that was 'it' when they kept coming though. lol

All this practise will have made up for a 10 year 'break' in making babies eh! lol

38 weeks today. Had a lovely walk with the dogs in a nearby duck pond park - we don't go to often as prefer more muddy / x-terrain but will be perfect for me now at this stage and for walking baby in her pram etc as good tarmac paths etc. Dogs really enjoyed the hills and a dip in the pond briefly to 'wash off' after getting muddy. lol

tucked up for the rest of the day now..

Woohoo 38 weeks! we'll be seeing our babies soon =)

Am up at 5 am again, been awake since 2am. Baby moving and kicking me lots, then had sharp twinges under my right rib, so got up, pain went away. Baby still moving now and has been moving almost constantly for 3 days now! Need to go back to bed now. Hope I can get comfy. Have a boot full of plants to put in in my small front garden. Bought purple wall flowers, purple and scarlet pansies, scarlet cyclamen and some more heathers. Was going to put them in this morning as sun was shining, but then kept getting very heavy downpours. Went for nice walk on local beach though which was lovely, roaring sea, sun and wind...punctuated by downpours! Have been putting off sorting last large box and some bags that are still in the nursery. Will get my head around doing that tomorrow as well as clearing off the dresser in the living room that has been a dumping ground for months. Hope I have the energy to do all that and that the bhicks won't up end me again!

nightly night =)

My goodness Angie you've worn me out! lol just reading what youv'e been up to! lol
Must admit not been on the beach for a couple of weeks - weather has been so bad.

Went to a breast feeding support group this morning - was lovely I must say and am going back weekly new - they're not open on the 28th when I will likely need them most, but every monday there after! lol
Midwife and BF counsellor gave a talk to me and one other mum due 26th dec.
got a dvd and leaflet - have watched most of the dvd and it's really good.. can definately spot where I went wrong with Erin - and MW was really symptathetic but explained how much things have changed in the last 10 years regarding support offered etc etc.. So fingers x'd and feeling optomistic. :)

BH's have started up again this afternoon and feel something 'low'.. also without fear of TMI info here, but I seem a bit 'wet' down below.. so you never know maybe good signs eh.. or just nothing AGAIN! lol
Mums at school started on me earlier as DH not there.. but I asked nicely not to have horror stories thrown at me! lol They realised I think that I don't want to hear the scarey stuff at this time and were supportive then about 'you'll be fine' etc which was lovely. lol

Also got some advice earlier at BF about 'ball' positions for birthing and sitting etc.. so that was handy too..

off to college tonight :) 1 more week and it's xmas hols! lol amazing.
