These forums are great aren't they. This diet is an extreme one and having people who understand it is invaluable I think x

I would never have described myself as fit, but obviously the the Rugby helps loads, so I've always had strong legs, as I'm a forward so scrums were a big part of my game.

With regards to the running, i decided about 5 years ago that i wanted to be able to run for a couple of miles so stuck to a training program that took me up to running for 30 mins non stop in 8 weeks. After my marriage broke up i had loads of time on my hands and ran loads..... i got up to 10k (just over an hour) but never managed to maintain that level.

xxx

That's fab, you must be strong willed to do that. Good that you got your head in the right place to do it, time on your hands has to be well spent or it's a downward spiral x

it was more about committing to getting out for 30 mins 3 x per week, i reckon anybody could do it the progression is that gentle.

I used to run from my folks house on a 3 mile loop that took me out of the village and along a short stretch of bypass, and used to love the double takes id get if anyone i knew would pass by in the car. That said there is another stretch i did on a 5 mile circuit that took you down a road where all you could see was fields, that gave you the feeling of being miles from anywhere.

xx

A great NSV for me today, just having a few chores, including stripping my bed, as you can see, and just tried on this polo shirt that has never really fitted me properly and guess what, it no longer looks like its half of a wet suit!!

It's the couch to 5k thing yeah? I did it earlier this year got to running four about ten minutes before life got in the way again. The only way I could do it was gettin up at stupid o'clock to do it before the kids and hubby were up. Trying to do it after the kids had gone to bed was just too much. An hoping that once the kids start preschool in September and I switch to working school hours I'll be able to reorganise myself having tea prepped et for when hubby gets home so I can fit in some exercise whilst he puts the kids to bed maybe. See how we get on. X
