S&S bars daily & ketosis

The S&S bars are far lower in carbs (and calories) than the Exante bars. The reason they suggest that you only have 1 is not because they will knock you out of ketosis (although other VLCD bars are bigger and higher in carbs so having 2 could well do that) but because the nutritional values in the bars don't support having 2 per day.

Added to say that some people don't include the bars as they trigger cravings and can't stop at just 1.

I often have more than 1 bar a day on SnS. It won't knock you out of ketosis and because I'm on 3 packs plus protein meal I already take a vitamin supplement. When I'm on holiday next week I intend to have 3 bars a day, as it's far more convient when travelling than any other option. However, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has a sweet tooth. Eating choccie bars isn't healthy so if eating these bars now would kick you into eating choccie bars at the end then don't do it - I don't have a sweet tooth and would prefer to have the spicy spaghetti pack if I could take a microwave with me(!). Also, remember that if you want to stick to the plan one bar per day is the max.

Hi all, Is biggest loser bars or any other meal replacement bars ok. There are many places you can get them on offer and wondered for finacial purposes if they are allowed?

Thanks x

I use the Biggest Loser bars quite often but they are higher in calories and carbs than the S&S ones so just watch that they don't push your carbs over the limit and kick you out of ketosis. If you have 3 packs with protein then you might get away with it but I wouldn't have them if I had 4 packs. But remember, as Starlight says it's not part of the plan so you have to make your own decision whether to have them or not.

Thank you. I have the 3 and protein plan. the bars are to top off my sugar cravings x
