Sarah's Target & 10K Mission

Hey lovely ladies!

I need your help, please! I'm going to my best friend's for a girly daytime 'sleepover' on Saturday. We're going to spend the day in our PJs, painting our nails, watching trashy films and catching up. I can't wait! I'd like to take some nibbles with me and I'm a bit stuck for inspiration!

I'm currently thinking 2 x Alpen Lights, some lovely fresh fruit and a Grazebox popcorn (5 syns). Are there any other low syn delights I can knock up?

Are these SW brownies doing the rounds at the moment any good or are they just another scan bran cake type thing? I really don't like those!!

Thanks in advance, girls! xx

Oooh, that sounds right up my street!! :D What a fab day you'll have.

What about making some mini quiches to take with you? And some potato wedges - you could just re-heat them in the oven when you get there. Maybe some hummus or dips with veggie sticks? What about a Freddo or a Curly Wurly for a sweet treat. Or some Mikado? Depends what kind of things you're thinking really xx

Options hot choc, low syn squirty cream, meringues, berries - make little eton mess type things and low syn hot choc treats if staying off the vino!

You could make your own hummus, bring choc philly tubs to dip the fruit/berries into? You could make muller light ice cream if you've an ice cream maker?

I always love making loaded potato skins - they are so nice when twice baked. Bake a potato first, then when it's cool enough, scoop out the flesh and mix with whatever you like (my fave is bacon, spring onion, jalepenos and some smoked paprika) then filling the potatoes with the mixture. They store well over night so you could make them on Fri then just reheat in an oven/microwave again on Sat! x

I tweaked the SW brownies after making them the first time (they were vile!) and loved them the second time! Can give you the recipe if you want? Also love roasting seasoned chick peas for a nice savoury snack, kinda like peanuts but nicer IMO because I don't like peanuts! x

I'll take the recipe Tasha! :D xx

It's the one that I used for the SW cake but obvs if you use a brownie tin, it can be brownies! And less syns if you make more pieces!

t's so similar to the brownies! I just changed it a bit!

6 eggs separated
50gish of sweetener
6 tsp sugar 6 syns
2 tsp vanilla extract
60g cocoa powder 10 syns

Separate the eggs.

Whisk the whites until stiff.

Fold into the mixture of egg yolks, cocoa powder, vanilla, sweetener and sugar.

Bake for 25-30 mins at 180!

Topping is quark mixed with a white choc options 2 syns and a crumbled biscuit on top!

Biscuits are 3 for 1 syn so spread over 12 slices I'm not even counting any syns for that!

So 18 syns into 12 slices is 1.5 a slice!

Wowzers girls - you lot are amazing!

Definitely going to make some brownies! And roast some chickpeas too - I've got a tin in the cupboard. Yum!! And make some potato skins. Om nom a nom!!

And I've got Daim bar Mikados in the cupboard as well. Ooh it's gonna be a proper feast! Going to pick up some white chocolate options too, as that's my fave!

Thanks so much everyone - I was having a real mental block then. No idea why! xxx

You've done amazing so far, well done :) Are you still doing the plan online? Would you say it is worth it joining online?

Aww thank you!

I was actually a bit cheeky and used my sister-in-laws login for the first 3 months to learn the ropes. Then she got bored and have up so since then I've relied on this lovely forum. It depends what you want, I guess. The app is good and being able to check syns is handy but in all honesty I haven't really needed it. Xx

Hiya Sarah hope your well.

I noticed earlier in the thread you were waxing lyrical about Quorn..I've never tried it as the texture has always concerned me. How do you find it?

Hello lovely, once it's cooked down into a bolognase or a chilli or whatever you honestly can't tell it's not beef/pork/lamb mince. Definitely worth a go, I'd say. :) xx

Food looks yum - cheeky naan for only 5.5 syns too, bonus!!

Happy Friday :) xx

I love a naan! Can't wait for curry night tonight!

Feeling a bit odd and dizzy at the mo so haven't eaten my overnight oats yet as I just don't fancy them. Forced myself to eat my bran flakes and have drunk a pint of water so hopefully I'll steady up soon. Have had a mega stressful week at work so maybe it's that catching up with me?

Happy Friday to you too lovely! What have you got planned for the weekend? xx

Aww no! Hope you're ok! Go and maybe sit somewhere with a bit of fresh air and natural light too. Not sure what your office is like but sometimes the air conditioning and lighting can make feelings like that worse. Definitely keep sipping at some water, good idea eating something small too. Good job it's Friday Sarah - sounds like you need a break!

I'm off out this evening to meet a friend for a glass of vino after work then home, changed, another pal is coming round and we're meeting another friend and her new bf in town later this evening. Hadn't wanted a late one but we're meeting them after dinner and their reservation is at 9!! So won't be even meeting them until nearly 11pm probably - annoying! Chilling and doing diss work tomorrow & Sunday then off to see Jay-Z on Sunday night! Wooohooo! I love him! x

Mega jel that you're going to see Jay-Z, I love him too!! x

Aww thanks hun. Feeling a bit better now after more water and have started to nibble my oats. We've got a nice chilled weekend ahead, which will be lovely (and much needed). You're totally right about the office not helping - really bright lights and freezing air con in here - not good!

That's definitely a late one tonight - that's a bit annoying isn't it! Sure you'll have a great time once you get out though. And Jay-Z will be amazeballs!

I really want to get Justin Timberlake tickets but we're supposed to be saving money this month to go into the stamp duty fund for when we move soon. Boo!! xx

Awww I've seen Jay-Z a few times before and he is just incredible!! Major love going on for him and his wife!

Did you see JTs performance at the VMAs?? It's a pity Miley got all the coverage because JT did a 15 min performance/megamix and it was UNREAL! He is just too talented! x

Yep - loved that JT performance. He's such a legend! I saw him in 2003 and still have the t-shirt...have loved him ever since!! Ooh so tempted to give the credit card a bashing and book some tickets for the OH and I to go and get our groove on!! xx
