Oh I've missed lamb, but husband isn't consoing yet, so a whole leg for me and the kids (and we'd have to eat it in front of him). Soon though...

Cold here today , may have to go and suffer a family party tonight if i dont want to have earache all xmas from the OH for not going will eat before I go though

no idea on food still cant taste anything it will consist of eggs though
right best get on and get the gammon out of the freezer

whilst some of those diets are ridiculous, there is nothing wrong with dukan and it's very similar to "cutting" diets used all the time by body builders(hate that phrase, but people cutting fat whilst wanting to hold onto lean muscle). a friend of mine who is a weight lifter and qualified personal trainer regularly follows a dukan style diet (with extra carbs before mamouth work outs as she depletes them during the workout) and she is in incredible shape and good health.

there's a big difference between getting all your minerals and vits but not eating starchy carbs, and living off baby food or sugary water :p
if any low calorie diet is going to help you cling on to your muscle, it's dukan!
 
yaeh silly ...i know alot of people who cant eat carbs , not seen them flake out ...diet works for me so thats all im worried about
 
morning all
went to a retirement party last night was a bit of a disaster as not many came because of the ice
only thing i could eat was chicken some of that was wings and was the tandori/tikka stuff so not good , passed on cake ect though
waiting on a transit issue at the moment !!
anyhow today is brave the shops for xmas shopping im not looking forward to it at all
 
I was having transit issues, but had acupuncture on Wednesday for my tummy, and have hardly stopped since :D Still feel bunged up so god knows how much more <apologies everyone>.

Anyway have a good one Tan and thanks for being there for me.

ok so its xmas eve final weigh in 155 down 2lbs now i could be good and try but its 3 days and its xmas and i have months next year to lose it again so I shall be merry lol
wont be weighing in till next Friday though !!!!
just put the gammon on and about to do mince pies and baileys triffle
shall get the OH on the sprouts later
 
Morning all im back ............... I dare not go near the scales as i feel bloated and fat OMG it was not the chocolate that got me it was the nuts !!!!! Anyway had an extra day off as we had rellys over yesterday , but boy am I glad to be back Dukaning today ( i never thought id hear myself say that ).
Had a good xmas OH spent loads on me even though we had said no at least it was practicle stuff a food blender, new set of knives and a ab roller ....I got him not a lot so feel a bit bad really ...
Kids had a great time though didnt give me much sleep christmas eve!!!
so back to dukaning .......Im going to do 5 days attack now , i dont celebrate new year so that wont be a problem , I will be able to go through ...i will weigh in Friday after 3 days attack imtoo scared to see what damage has been done !! too be honest

Good attitude for Xmas!!! Now, on to important matters - I hahve the whole family coming over on Monday and I am toying with the idea of your Baileys trifle. What goes in it?
 
morning hun will dig out recipie but to be honest i didnt follow it that much
i got a chocolate swiss roll , cut it up put it in the bottom of the bowl put a couple of tablespoons baileys on it ..... then i put a small tin of mandrin oranges but the recipie says raspberrys,so your choice....
then got a tub of ready made custard and mixed in 2or 3 table spoons baileys and 1/2 pint whipped double cream spooned on top , put in freezer for 45 mins take out and put 1/2 pint whipped cream on top...added crushed chocolate flake ,very simple and you can add more baileys if you want !!!!
 
ok i crumbled and weighed this morning , now i think totm may be due in the next week so im probably hanging onto water so loss maybe stalled this next week , but after the xmas blow out im back to 159 which is 4 lb and im not going to get upset about it ..
Exercise starts this week as i need to train for this walk in march so will need to do a few miles a day as soon as the kids go back to school , the dog will be happy
so in going to carry on with attack this week and see how we go going to up the water intake too.....
i think the extra 4lb should take 3 weeks max to go and the food intake may have tricked my body to lose more we never can tell

I'm sure that 4 lbs is just water and it will be gone after your 5 days of attack. I think that where our mindsets have changed is that we immediately think about losing the gain (this is the case for me anyway) rather than blindly letting it pile on and on, thinking 'I will start the diet next week' - and then before you know it you have put on a couple of stones.
 
yep ive that feeling too . I was so glad to go back to the structured eating in my life , which is a major mind shift for me !!! I could still down a box of chocs but the enjoyment wouldnt be the same anymore , i get more pleasure from watching the scales drop

Well done on the 4lb gain....pre-dukan...xmas would EASILY have added up to a 7-8lb gain for me.....

From what you've said I think it's amazing how our mindsets have changed.... we're similar in as much as I would've previously thought

"stuff it....off the wagon big-style...sort in in the new year"..... resolution style....which would last all of a few days :)

This year we're none of us avoiding our demons....acting very responsibly :) I'm lovin' it...

Hope your 8 mile walk went well.... you're inspiring me....that's my next step.... upping the exercise!!

Noticed some nasty stretchmarks yesterday <sigh> :p life's a biatch sometimes isn't it?

but still...we're all stones lighter and as long as we look nice in our clothes and feel more confident as a result.......the world is our oyster :D
