Seasoning

So I realise that the shake it on ready seasonings aren't dukan friendly (although thankfully my infrequent use hasn't caused damage) but I'm trying to preempt a problem!

Does anyone have any seasoning ideas? Fresh herb type stuff I can use cause I cant think! Bought a few spices (no sugar) but nothing has struck me as nice so far!! X

I baked a chicken breast the other with just smotherd in dried herbs and garlic and it was lovely! I dont mind anything that's got chilli on it!!

Wish I could eat garlic :( might experiment with chilli. I've tried celery salt tonight. And mixed herbs...who knows! X

I've just made herby muffins. I though they might be a little like dumplings to go with my meat and veg they wernt bad. But I've been putting a mix on my chicken of dried of black pepper, red pepper chillie pepper and italian herbs you might say overload but defo tasty x

ive used the ready made seasonings all along and its done me no harm ;) it may not suit everyone but i think what sugar is in a portion size will be negligable anyway. you could always look at the ingredients and try making up your own one in an empty jar minus the sugar etc

I tend to make my own blends, I particularly like this creole blend:
2tblsp onion powder
2tblsp garlic powder
2tblsp dried oregano
2tblsp dried basil
1tblsp dried thyme
1tblsp black pepper
1tblsp white pepper
1tblsp cayenne pepper
5tblsp paprika (I usually do 1/2 and 1/2 regular paprika and smoked paprika)
3tblsp salt (I like Maldon sea salt flakes)

Keeps in airtight container for at least a month. I sprinkle it on chicken breast, add to mince, etc. I like that it isn't 50% salt, which a lot of the ready made ones are and you can use more or less salt to taste.

Yeah I found a lot of the ready made ones too salty...I'd be up for creating one using their blend ideas and maybe throwing a little splenda in if the sweetness is appealing.

I love saltiness! I may be bad and buy ready made ones some point cause the ones I've tried myself are rank!

I put smoked paprika on everything, love the stuff - dill & thyme on fish and herbes de provence is fab on roasted veg.

Another good idea to add to my bank of goodies cheesegirl x sounds like a taste bud sensation x
