Secret to shaping up

lol, you guys are great :)

Your shoulders and arms will get stronger swinging that bell, so will be really interesting to see if you can do a push up at the end of 6 weeks

I can do push ups now, but was exactly the same when i started doing them from my knees, not able to move down more than an inch before falling flat on my face lol

You can practice the move by being on your hands with your knees in line with your hips - like a table and do the push ups from there its so much easier, this will help with technique and give your arms and shoulders a bit more of workout, moving your knees back makes it harder and engages the core which is what we want from a push up. having your feet wide can also help with stability, but honestly dont worry about it, one day you will give it a go and you will do it :)

Cleogin your not far away from me x

Claire totally know about that having to force yourself to do it some days, but glad you did it - that start of definition in your abs will definatley motivate you to keep going - fab result in a couple of weeks :) Isnt it funny how we all love/hate different moves

Swinging, pros lol i wonder what new people must think when they view this thread ;)

Hey I sat and wrote a bit about cardio week 2 yesterday and how for the life of me I CANNOT do a pushup!!! Phone went funny and it didn't send!!! Seriously I have to the half ones on my knees and even then it's still quite pathetic :) I just try my best though and I think as long As you are still moving Ryan won't hunt you down :)

If, by the end of week 6, I can do one proper push up I'll be mega impressed!! I'm finding that I'm getting stronger( despite my puny push ups) and I can start to see slight toning around the ab region :)

Keep it up swingers :) hope you feel better soon gettingfit xx

Hi Chick sorry, I mixed up your post with Claires. FAB result starting to see abs changing in your first two weeks :)

Don't worry kron I often write a reply to someone then have to go back and check it was a actually for the right person! :) it really does motivate me seeing results after two weeks( I am doing it alongside slimming world so the combination of the 2 obviously help!) I'm getting to the stage now where I feel I want to do more than 3, 20 min sessions a week. Is this advisable?

Claire :) You can do it alternate days, I think it was about week 3 I started doing them more often, also used to do a few minutes on off days, just a bit of freestyle just before jumping in the shower

Well I have took the plunge... Tesco had Kettlenetics with 4kg kettlebell for £15 and I bought a 7.5kg for £20 to move up to. Not sure if I will be able to use it like you guys do on Worx but hopefully so... 3 workouts a week for 6 weeks... bring on the inch loss!

Hi sparkledpixie I have seen the kettlenetics in tesco, you will have to let us know how you get on as could be an option for others :) welcome to the swinging club

Can't pick it up until Tuesday evening but looking forward to it and it has some great reviews. I'll most certainly report back!

HI Peeps - well have just sat and watched the Intro DVD. Have to say Mr Cheesy isn't quite as bad as I was expecting. A good haircut and less highlights would help him no end though :giggle:

I was only intending to watch it but then found myself pulled into the sample workout. Perhaps not the best idea doing it in "normal" clothes (jeans and a top) but you know how it is! I didn't manage it all on account of the fact I was pouring with sweat and my jeans were sticking to my legs - mmmnnn lovely image, eh so didn't try the press ups and the mountain climbers but had a go at everything else. Really enjoyed the warm up and cool down which is much better than my freestyle efforts :D

So my question. Have I inadvertently just done pretty much most of the week 1 Cardio workout?

Sounds like it ?!
Oh my new fav quote... One final stretch, reach over a pat yourself on the back!!!! Soooooo cheesy!

Well done sparkledfairy!!! Completed step 1 of becoming a swinger!!! ?

Sue just couldn't resist lol i never watched the intro I have lent it to someone at work who was interested then she went on long term sick so I hope to get it back at some point. You have probably just practiced some of the moves that are in all 3 I am sure someone will be able to let you know.
Are you still starting tomorrow :)

Hahahaha Donzy I was just thinking about this line after reading Sue's post...was gonna ask, does anyone actually'pat themselves on the back' I know I do :)

LOL at sparkleFAIRY - Kron look what you've started :D:p

Hi Guys - yep fully intend to start tomorrow. Its just that at the beginning of the sample workout he said Welcome to Wk1 Cardio! I kind of assumed it would just be a few moves but when he went onto Set 2 I thought it was a bit fishy!! (At this point I really could insert a really awful basic joke about sweating but will refrain as I'm not sure what humour level people are on!!)!

Anyway I'm going to do Cardio tomorrow and I'll let you know! And if it is, well I'll give myself an extra pat on the back! :D

I might have done!! I did also flick him the V sign after the slam dunking turbo boost malarky as well :D

Sue oooh it sounds like it lol joke away I love a good sense of humour - I can't link but need to read the serious question about birthday cake post
We are all old enough to ignore something if we don't like it - how bad are your jokes lol

Chick I did, especially if I made it thru the tough ones lol that's if I had the energy

My jokes are bad and do tend to revolve around bodily functions and gutter level humour - not very lady like I know! Lets just say I wouldn't recommend doing what appears to be Wk1 Cardio wearing jeans and Spanx tummy control pants! Nylon or whatever material they are made out of isn't exactly forgiving on the sweat front!! :0bathtime:I think I need a shower!! :D

The cake post made me laugh!!!
I'm having a rubbish SW day ? am at friends tonight so have no say over meal so instead of being really good ready for meal I've had an extra heB even though I need to b on an EE day, I know it's banoffee pie for dessert and I can't refuse it as she'd b offended (and I Love banoffe pie) but really is the worst dessert I could possibly have on SW! Hoping if I keep KB up this wk I'll STS.

might have to get the bonus DVD out tomorrow! How does resistance compare with cardio and core?

Been there, some things you just don't wear to workout in again lol

Donzy use a flexible syn day :) hold back on the syns you can like no second helping of pie! Have fun
Starting exercise can temporally muck up weight loss for a couple of weeks, so don't worry about the numbers but stick to plan
