Shellie's Maintaining Diary

Oh dear!
Lost 1lb this week - quite suprised really. Also got my 4 1/2 stone award - felt quite awkward, but luckily we have a really fantastic group atmosphere, so enjoyed the stick that I got :-D

Going to keep with 10 syns a day, put have them daily this week, rather than having another beer-fest!!! Going to also ensure that I have two B choices per day.

Right then....

Thursday 17th June:

Breakfast:
0% fat greek yog with raspberries (eaten at group)

Lunch:
Was going to have quiche, but have a busy day today, so it will be prawn salad again with 1tbsp of extra light mayo (.5 or 1 syn - can't remember!).

Tea:
Lovely day, so probably BBQ again (I do love BBQ - nothing better than cooking and eating al fresco). Chicken and homemade beef burgers, potato wedges (1xB)

Snacks:
hifi bar - never had one before!
Options white choc sachet in greek yog (2.5 syns)

Leaves me a fair amount....hmmmm....need to think on that one!

Hope that you have a lovely day - off to my SW interview later on - quite excited about it now!!!
xx

Really enjoyed my interview yesterday. Find out today whether I have got through or not!
Weighed myself this morning (bad, I know) and have lost another 2lbs. Really like the weight that I am right now-I still have some curves left-so really going to try and eat the right foods to keep it that way.

Friday 18th June:
Breakfast:
2xweetabix (1xhexB), frozen summer fruit, Activia FF yog

Lunch:
SW quiche (I will make it today!), salad. 1 tbsp extra light mayo (.5 syn).
3 x apricots

Tea:
hmmmm....fancy cooking something a bit different!
Will have SW wedges though (so enjoyed them yesterday, dipped into some garlic extra light mayo!). So that will be 1 hexB at least

Snacks:
White choc options in 0% fat greek yog (now addicted!) and 1 hifi bar (hexB number 3).

Never had a hifi bar before - omg - how nice!!!! Beats Alpen lights and Fibre plus hands down for me!! Was completely stuffed after I'd eaten one!!!

So...in summary:
1 hexA - skimmed milk
3 hexB - weetabix, potato and hifi
Only 2 syns in mind at the moment!

Have a lovely day and thank-you for reading!!! xx

Ooohh Shellie, fingers crossed for your news today. I made the SW quiche yest, forgotten how nice it is and added some prawns to the salad and 1/2 my HEA with 22g /lfat grated chedder. Was so impressed, took a piccie:

Sooo yummy x

Hello EF - I can't see the picture!
Mine has just gone in the oven - only time will tell now!!
Still not heard anything - not quite sure what to think - oh well! x

Ooh I've been waiting to hear how you got on. At least they let you know quite quickly. Fingers crossed for you. x

mmmm....the quiche was so good - sorry to say, but I licked the plate clean! I did end up using quark instead of cottage cheese, and it tasted incredibly cheesy!!!

Hi Jay, they said that they'd let me know by the end of today, all being well. I'm trying not to look at my phone every few minutes!

I think that I'll go for a walk or do some shopping to take my mind of it - retail therapy is beckoning!!!
xx

Just found out that I've been accepted to become a consultant!
Very excited!
My first group will open on 20th September with a 2nd six weeks after that!
Training starts on 8th August -the day I get back from my hols.
So much to think about and plan for - its made my day!!! xx

Thank you Spanx - that's very kind of you to say!

Right then - Saturday!
Dog has gone to the Doggie Beauty Salon today! She's only just over a year old and has become very hairy - it's her first scalping today. She is going to be there for 4 hours....!!!

Still very excited - going out with my C next week to have a look at the current groups, so that I can decide which one to go for.

Food....!

Saturday 19th June:
Breakfast:
42g All-Bran (hexB x 1), Activia FF yog and strawberries

Lunch:
Going to have to be SW quiche again! Salad and extra light mayo (.5 syn)

Tea:
Had pork loin yesterday - delicious. May have to have that again tonight as I was the only one to eat it! Will go for a jacket potato tonight, topped with extra light mayo (.5 syn)

All change! Pork in the freezer for another day! Going to now make Lamb Rogan Josh and serve with jacket potatoes (love curry and jackets!) with curly kale - may seem like a strange combination but it works for me!!!

Snacks:
Hifi bar (HexB 2) - going to try either the mint or cranberry one! Not sure about what else, was going to try and give the Options and greek yog combo a miss tonight, so that it still feels like a treat when I do have it!!!

Still not managing to up syns - had 3.5 again yesterday, but have been getting 3 HexBs in, so hopefully will maintain this week.

Oh! Made the syn free lemon meringue pies last night - my husband absolutely loved it! I had a taste (too full to eat a whole one) and thought that it was yummy - definitely worth a try!

Have a lovely weekend! x

Thanks Jay!

EF - so pleased that I'm not the only one!!!
Curry was wonderful - added an aubergine and half a bag of frozen sliced peppers to it, plus more spices and cooked it for an hour longer!! We all loved it!

I've started a notebook to record my food diaries in as well - I add comments about how I felt about a meal/day, so that I can go back and see the things that worked (or not!) for me.
My hubbie says that he can really see the difference this time (I've lost weight before and have been at this weight several times!), but that now I am staying with the plan and being conscious about what I put in my mouth!
I must say that joining SW has taught me so much, not only about what to eat, but also about me!!!

Right, emotional stuff over! Plan for today:

Breakfast:
Activia FF yog with lots of strawberries and blueberries

Lunch:
Cov Gdn Tomato and Basil soup (HexB). Apricots

Tea:
BBQ - chicken and homemade burgers (with Babybel - HexA)
Salad and tbsp Extra Light Mayo (.5 syn)

Snacks:
Hifi bar (HexB)

Low on syns....
This week, I'm going to see the impact of upping the HexBs, keeping the syns low. Then can make adjustments from there.

Have a lovely day! xx

Hi Shellie.. I did this really quick curry sauce yest, kind of threw it all in and simmered then added prawns :

1tbsp ground coriander, 1tbsp cumin, 1tbsp curry powder, cumins seads, onion seads, small onion, chicken oxo and a cup of water, 1tsp Chilli flakes and a small box of passata. Carrots, mushrooms and brocoli:

Fry light in sauce pan, add seads and onion, fry off gently, then add dry spices, and then passatta, oxo and water, bring to the boil, then add veggies.. Simmer for 10 mins, add
prawns.. or chicken.. mmmm

I was amazed at how nice it was myself, lol.. a 10 min wonder I think ;). It was only enough for 1, but so quick to do and lovely on a jacket.. x

ooohh that sounds lovely (and quick = good!), thanks for that EF!!!

A week of sunshine (apparently!), couldn't be better (although I'm not a big Wimbledon fan and the wall to wall sport is starting to annoy me slightly!) !!
Looking forward to the weekend, my brother is over for a flying visit from Australia - think that he may notice a slight difference in me! Also, have my son's football presentation evening on Saturday - the team manager told my husband that I look 'hot' (hot!!! Can't believe that I've been called hot at the grand old age of 39 and 11 months!!!!).

Anyway, enough of my ramble for now!

Monday 21st June:
Breakfast:
42g All-Bran (B), Activia FF and berries

Lunch:
Covt Gdn Tomato and Basil soup (B). Apricots

Tea:
Left over BBQ stuff from yesterday! Salad and Extra Light Mayo (.5syn)
Changed: Chicken stuffed with babybel light and wrapped in bacon

Snacks:
Definitely mint hifi bar! (B)

Chocolate mini milk (1.5 syns)

Hi Shellie.

Some advice please if I may ;). Followed Green and Red all week to the letter and lost 1lb! Followed EE for the last 3 weeks previously and lost 2lb a week, I don't get it.. I thought that by swapping things about a bit, i'd have a better loss?

Plus did 9 miles walk in a week, so really thought that would have boosted it too. Bit down in the dumps and need to increase that loss. Gonna go back to EE this week, but any tips from you, would be invaluable, thanks. xx

Hey hun - don't be down in the dumps - just imagine what next weeks loss will be like.
*First up, stick with the walking - it will help immensely. Do whatever you can, when you can.
*I'd also reccomend sticking with the plan that you're happy with. I never felt any need to change, becuause I'd worked out that my body responds much better with less carbs. That's why Red was so good for me.
*I also stuck with the 1/3 superfree rule, even when I switched from EE.
*I avoided processed foods like the plague!!! Some contain additional salt which can make your body retain water. I know that sometimes, when time is tight, they're a godsend, but not on a daily basis.
*I was low on syns (it worked for me - not the same for everybody!) but made sure that I always had room for a treat.
*I ate well!!! For one of our weekend BBQs I would often have steak, chicken and a free burger!!! Whatever you do, don't restrict yourself!
*Oh! I drink around 3ltrs of sparkling water a day, on top of tea/coffee. I avoid too much diet coke - it seemed to slow my losses when I'd drunk too much!
These were things that worked for me - if they help you at all, then I will be sooooo pleased.
Next week, will be different for you. xxx
