Shrimp's journey!...and this time it's going to be a success

LOVE THE GNR!!!! Ran it about 6 times since 2004. Best run ever. Best support, best atmosphere, great course too. Just love running there. Ran it last year. Loved it! I'm not a psycho with running times. If I run slower than last time, I don't get my knickers in a twist. A run is a run. I do it for enjoyment, not to put myself under pressure.

Well done honeybun! What diet are you on? I'm on CD and just swapped to exante. Can't run far on these sachets. Really feel lack of carbs during a run. Will have to change diet after Xmas because ill start training for long mileage.

Funny as its never affected my running/exercise being on exante. I do generally pick at meat/eggs etc, maybe the extra protein helps? I feel much better running now then I did in my carb bloat ;-)

I switched from CD to Exante. Much prefer the shakes on exante although do miss the CD bars, especially toffee ones I used to stick in the freezer! x

Hi Plym. I ve been doing the couch to 5k plan am on week 7 and can now run for 25 mins without needing resuscitation I have found that since starting the programme my weight loss has slowed down a lot but the inch loss is amazing. So I am keeping the exercise up and hoping that the weight loss speeds up again soon. Loving the exercise tho and amazed that I can run for that long outside at 197 lbs.

If I am doing a +5 mile run I would eat a little bit more than the 3 x Exante...just because I need a little more. Otherwise it seems to work running with Exante.

I only came came off Exante really about the week before GNR ... And I am just struggling to get back on properly at the moment

Hope you are doing ok Shrimp it's so hard to get back into it after being off plan it usually takes me a few days to get my head around it but you will get there you have done so well in the past you can do it again and as Marge says all that running will help with burning the extra calories - I really wish I could say I love running like you can :) x

Thanks for that shrimp :) I remember last time I struggled on an 8 mile run, then reduced to 4 miles and had to stop because dizzy. Had to lay in ground and elevate legs up against a tree! Then I had to walk home. Was on my own too. But I was on CD then. Just wondered if exante was better in that way.

I'm going to gym and can do things like spinning and classes etc. if I feel tired I can leave! Will need to get fitter up to Xmas then start running training in earnest. Might see if I can do exante plus a meal. Will check if out online later. :) thanks for advice shrimp! X

I do marvel at you running lot ;) I can barely get myself to get back into Pilates and walking. Terrible, huh. When I first started I had such drive and now that seems to have faltered, making every day a battle with myself. But I find it very inspiring reading about your sporty successes, well done you!

I would always keep a few jelly beans in your runners pouch just in case you feel a little dizzy! A few will do minimal damage

Thank you. If I have a few days off it is hard to start again....I think that keeping to my running plan helps me!

Thank you everyone for your help and support...I am back on track again. Porridge and 2x bars (I know it's wrong but it worked for me today). Been out running tonight....2.7 miles. It was dark so I ran as far as I dare with no street lights then turned around and came home

Well done shrimp! Good effort for the dark run. Aldi sell cheap head torches (about 3 pounds) I use one in the winter when on 6am runs... X

Hi Shrimp I'm having one of those weeks too. Glad you are back on the boards to keep us all going strong. X
I think we all have a wobbly week now and then it's part of our journey!

Well done Shrimp :D
I would love to say I love running

Hi Shrimp not sure what's going on with my weight loss at the moment keep being 100% but have put on 3lbs so far this week! Ho hum I'm sure it will sort itself out soon enough on the upside I am on week 7 of c25 k and managed to run 2 miles today not too bad for someone who couldn't have run to her car 7 weeks ago. Sure the weight will sort itself out soon enough. How are you doing? How's the toenail?

Good afternoon Shrimp, hope you're well xx
