I I'm thinking about doing this diet what are the best flavours I have two/3 stone to loose so which plan would be good for me and are the meals nice thankyou x

Hi Celeste,

I did cambridge before and much prefer slim and save. How you do the diet is really a personal choice. I prefer 3 packs and the small protein meal but some people prefer the strictness of 4 packs. Or you can mix and match. I'm not a big fan of the meals. I prefer shakes and bars. Tho I'm going to order some soups now it's getting cold. Id recommend you order a few of everything to see what you like to start with. Sometimes you think your going to love something and you don't. For me it was the cheesy pasta. I just can't stomach it - yet could eat normal mac cheese all day long. Good luck and keep us all posted how you get on x

Thankyou well here goes have just put in my order have done a week to see how it goes have ordered four meal packs us it ok to add some veg with the meal I did Cambridge but missed chewing as I didn't like the bars and found it difficult to live on liquids all the time are the food packs nice have offered chilli and shepards pie xx

Also can u still have a quick weight loss if u have three pks and do your own meal just want to loose as much as I can by Christmas !! What sort of meals do you have xx

Hi ya I do a mixture of three packs and a meal or four packs. Depends on the day and my mood. My losses have been bigger than when I did Cambridge.
Yes you can have four packs and 200g cooked weight of veg.
Or three packs and a meal of 200g cooked weight of veg and 100g of cooked weight of protein.
I love getting those big flat open mushrooms and grilling them then make up the chilli pack and stuff them in the mushrooms with a babybel light and melt it! Yum yum!
Look at the recipe thread on here too for loads of suggestions.
I've recently made pancakes out of the porridge pack which was delicious.
Oh and believe me - I think you'll have no problem liking the bars!! I like them tooooo much!!
:)
Good luck!!

Xx

You can have 150ml of milk a day.

It's optional so it's up to you if you have it x

Yep yep yep 150ml of either skimmed or semi skimmed milk a day. :) makes it easier as I love a good cuppa tea! Xx

Tracyx

Hi Tracy I'm not over keen on water but will be getting some Ribena tomorrow I'm hoping my parcel comes early as would like to start tomorrow what are your favourite meals need to loose as much as I can by dec 14 th it's my hubby's Christmas do and am so conscious of myself at the mo xx

Hi Celeste,

I must admit that the meal packs arn't great but they get the job done. They do all have a similar aftertaste which isn't great but you will get used to them.

I've done the diet 3 times and each time my taste has changed, the first time i loved the porridge and ate it more than anything else, the 2nd time I couldn't live without the bars but now 3rd time around I'm preferring the shakes.

Skake wise I like the strawberry (tastes like strawberry yog) and the banana (tastes like the nesquick milkshake). The choc is ok too but is a very strong malty choc flavour, I wasn't keen on the rest.

The Soups are ok and veg is by far the best, tastes just like cream of veg cup a soup, chicken is ok but I think it has a bit of an aftertaste.

The Meals are ok but all have a similar flavour so don't expect your cottage pie to taste anything like the real thing or you'll be disappointed. My favourite is by far the spicy spaghetti as its egg noodles in a sort of bolognaise sauce, the macaroni/cheesy pasta is nice after a lot of cooking (the pasta is very hard) but it has a very strong cheese flavour so I cant eat it on its own only over cauliflower or other veg. The porridge is ok but again doesn't taste like porridge, with sweeteners added to it I think it tastes similar to a puréed rice pudding. The normal spag bol is ok but alot higher in carbs than the rest which can knock you out of ketosis so not worth the hassle in my opinion so I just avoid it. I tried the rest but didn't like any of them enough to order a 2nd time so that says enough.

The bars are good with a cuppa but they all have a very strong aftertaste which you either won't mind or you'll hate, the prailine is like a firmer milkyway, the lemon is chewy and tastes of strong lemon cheesecake, the Truffa is dark chocolate truffle with crunchy bits in it and I didn't like the rest they all had too much of an aftertaste.

But everyone has their favourites, you'll probably be on here next week saying you love all the ones I hate, everyone's taste is different :) x

Ps: Remember with the Ribena your only allowed to make up 1 litre a day so if your like me and arn't keen on plain water you might need to buy some S&S water flavouring to get your full 2-3ltrs down x

Yeah as Tracy says everyone has different favourites. I like the chilli pack but sometimes I make stuffed mushrooms with it and a babybel light, pop it under the grill and it's yummy!!
Lots of experimenting to be done and if you want a protein meal there's so much you can play with.
With the shakes they are best in a blender with ice as the ice thickens up the shake and it's yummy and frothy! They are also nice hot.
I've put a shot of coffee in the caramel one which is lurrrvely!! I also put extra water in like 500-600mls sometimes which gets extra water in you!
The bars are amazeballs and I've been making pancakes out of the porridge packs with crushed sweeteners and a bit of lemon water flavour in the mix - tastes like sweet lemon pancakes!

The funny thing is, you'll find your favourites and over time your taste buds change and you end up almost hating what you would have once happily lived on! I used to love the coffee shake! Like LOVED it but now I'm like 'pah whatever' about it!
If you drink tea/coffee that'll help up your water but if you have loads it might be best to switch to decaf for a few cups a day.
I hope your order arrives soon so you can get rummaging through!! :)

Right starting today was going to start Friday but came down with a horrendous cold any advice on making packs up and have been doing lots if reading zero noodles can I mix these in and have what I want ARS they any good also swede chips can I use fry lite and have 200 g of these with my chilli pack , do I have to add another veg aswell and last question for now what's the best way to make a hot shake thankyou wish me luck !!!!xxxx

Oh just though if another one if I can a baby bell is it the lite one and how much milk does that replace ??x sugar free jelly is free ?? Hartleys has citric acid in so which ones best sorry I'm on a mission now !!!xx

Yep it's the lite babybel. :)

You can use fry light, and you can have 200g of veg in any combination you like - All swede if you like or divide it up - as long as the total weight everything is 200g.

Swede chips are yum!!

Zero noodles are allowed - I thought they were ok, not amazing, but ok. Everyone's different though so it's best to give them a whirl and see what you think. Really rinse them first and add some flavour to them too otherwise they are very bland.

Hot shakes - my blender has a mini hole in the top so I can put hot water in it and it doesn't explode. But if yours doesn't then a hand blender (£5 from most places) are great as it'll help froth it up and mix it really well!!
I always use blenders as they make the shakes frothy and ice makes the shakes thicker.

Yum yum.

I've started making cakey type things out of the shakes for a change.
Add one tablespoon of water or milk to the shake and mix well with a fork. Pop on a plate in a dollop. Into the microwave for 30seconds then I flip it over and pop it in the fridge for ten minutes to firm up. But strange but quite yummy. The caramel one is lovely like this.

Have fun experimenting and ask away, that's what we're here for!!!

Hope it's going well. Keep up the water intake and if you do the cakey thing or have a bar remember to have extra water.

:)

Xx

Oh and on the slim and save website it's hartleys sugar free jelly. Half the packet made up makes 4 portions. I guess it's probably one portion a day.

:)
