Tipperary wobbles into 2024

Hahaha tipp, what did you do in the end? :classic_big_grin::classic_big_grin:

It stayed put until I got to the bathroom

Thank goodness for that :classic_big_grin:

I hope your week has been good tipp :)

I'm having a tumeric latte...Has anyone else tried one?

I make my own golden milk - a mix of organic turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, maca and h/m almond milk (gosh I sound like such a hipster LOL) - I'm not a mad fan, have to add a bit of sweetener, so probably undo all the healthy benefits.

Half a grape missed my mouth and fell down the front of my blouse.

:rotflmao::rotflmao::rotflmao:

Speaking of Nadiya - we're filming with her in September :classic_cool::classic_cool::classic_cool:

Yup, Lady F -definitely sounds hipster!

What sweetner do you use? I use erythritol. I used to use xylitol, until I saw it raises blood sugar more than erythritol (sugar is worse, obviously). Dentists say it might be better for tooth health than xylitol. It's also less likely to give you the runs than xylitol.

Ali - I use Hermesetas liquid, it's cyclamate and saccharine, and is very sweet - one or two drops equals a tablespoon, or something like that. A friend of mine, who loves sugar, says it's the best she's ever tasted. You can get it on Am as an add on item for £2.99 for a big bottle.

Thanks. I might get it when I next do an am order. I'm furious that Amazon doesn't pay proper tax - but live in the middle of nowhere - so rely on them for all sorts of things.

Amazon isn't the only one. I would be lost if I had to give up Amazon as I like there same day and next day delivery.:) It would probably save me some money if I boycotted them.:classic_big_grin:

How are things going @tipperary ?

I love them too, get loads on next day delivery (got three arriving today) - because the service is better than anyone else. But I rationalise it that, at the end of the day, MPs, business heads, senior civil servants - they all rip off the system and don't pay the tax they should, so I may as well make savings online and get good service :).

Morning tipp, best of luck for the week ahead!

Morning all, well its Thursday morning and just about to get up to go to work. Had a really busy and exhausting weekend with the local.agricultural.show and still sore and tired from it. Food is all over the place and no exercise so will try to rein it in and get back on track for Monday and have a mental reset then.
I'm settling into work well now, I have an actual job to do. I just go in sit down and get on with it which is great. The overall picture of what I do is interesting but my part is boring in that all I do is data entry and checking. And I'm sitting all day which for some reason is exhausting and when I come home I'm physically drained...even though I have been sitting. We have flexi time so I'm an trying to work up some extra hours this week in order to have a long weekend away in August. Yes, I know we have just had a long weekend which I extended by taking the Tuesday too but I was "working" all weekend. I change departments in September and have been told no leave will be available until April.
I have another health board interview in two weeks for a position applied for in January 2017... the process is soooooooo long. And I'm now officially in the competition for a permanent post in the civil service, my current number suggests I should be accepted within two years. Boring work and not brilliant pay at all but a permanent job so some sense of financial security.

Helicobacter Pylori, has anyone ever heard of this. My daughter who has now been off work since Easter has finally been given this as a diagnosis. It can be a precursor to stomach ulcers. The treatment can be simple, a cocktail of three medications but it doesn't always work. It presented itself by her collapsing all the time, it prevented her absorbing nutrients from her food which caused her vitamin and mineral levels to become critically low. They were been tackled but they still hadn't found the cause and she spent 6 weeks in severe pain and not able to eat at all. Anyway she is on the mend now and just beginning to eat. She has been told 50% of the population have it but it doesn't turn bad in all of them. She has suggested we all get tested for it (as it can be passed from person to person). While it will probably leaf to weight loss if left untreated it can start with indigestion and bloating, which I definitely have. I cannot eat acid or fat without bad indigestion and am sure its all my peppermint tea that has prevented a bad stomach flare up at times. Anyway I've got my annual thyroid and cholesterol tests due next week and will ask GP about that as well, he charges just for blood test, not the actual amount of tests but you have to specifically ask for that one. If anything it would be nice to know I don't have it rather than wonder.

Really great that all the job opportunities are coming good hun, there's a lot to be said for financial security - and you can leave work, not think about it anymore, and enjoy your social time.

Not heard of that thing you daughter has! Is it like a parasite? I think bloating can be caused by lots of things - my GP told me ages ago that people often get it because they breathe in lots of air when they're eating and that can cause it. i keep my bean/bread intake low because of it - and when things build up, i take charcoal tablets.

No its not a parasite ( thankfully) but a bacterial.infection so anti biotics should work but it could come back. If more people with indigestion or other stomach problems got tested and treated for it we should have less ulcers.

Morning all, have just drifted through this week to be honest....short and all as it has been. Just finished my porridge smoothie and hoping to get to work early as trying to build up extra time.
I've ordered a massage vibro plate thingy and hope it will help the cramping I'm my legs, anything else will be a bonus.
Husband is minding Oscar this evening any myself, two daughters and teeny baby Theo are going out for tapas for a few hours. It will do them both good to get out. Its a local coffee shop that does wine and tapas at the weekends. I worked with the chef (last summer in the country house) and he assures me the tapas are made fresh by him and not preprepared frozen from a wholesalers.

I will be good today
I will be good today
I will be good today

Awake but don't want to get up yet, though I should go for a walk. And my washing needs to be done.
Tapas where good last night, though not very Spanish and we ordered too much. But it was great to bring the girls out even with the baby. We weren't gone long and husband was just bathing Oscar when I got back. Oscar insisted I get in the bath with him, so I just sat on the edge with my feet in while he had his hair done. Then we read "Handas Surprise" and he was quite happy to go to bed. So I got quality time with both the babies.
Cleaning to do today, washing, cooking, boring stuff. And at some stage i might sneak off to Limerick and get my eyebrows done, they are just way too shaggy now.
Will start in a while with my smoothie and will write a shopping list, potassium, flaxseed and green tea with ginseng go at the top.

Sounds like a good day. Have you thought about Lo-Salt? That has potassium in it.

PS: Magnesium might be worth looking at too. Plus calcium for the evenings (don't take at same time as potassum). See Dr Google for info.
