TooFatKats diary of desperation ..(and hope)

The days slip by so fast! Had a good week. I've been dabbling with raw food and in liking it a lot. The flavours of your food are so much more intense . It's strange but even though sometimes ice gone periods of time being hungry because its not been convenient to eat, I've not had cravings. I can tell the difference between hunger and needing the sugar/carb rush because my insulin levels are balanced so its been great for that. I have eaten 'normal' hot food but not much and hardly any bread. But even when I've been busy I've not had to rush into the kitchen and stuff my face with food.
I've signed up to the Rawtarians 30 day plan starting on the 4th feb. I'm going to do the best I can and see what hapoens over the month.

The picture is raw brownie and its heaven and 'chicken' salad wraps

They look scrummy!

Wow I didn't realise it was three weeks since I posted!! I haven't been AWOL , I've been reading everyone else's goings on but just not felt the need to write anything down. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I think it's beginning to signal that my journey to lose the weight is ending and the maintaining one is happening. Which is odd seeing as I'm technically still overweight but I don't feel it. The head thing is difficult though. Because I know I'm still overweight according to the charts but my body is saying ' ok stop here I'm alright now' accepting that is harder than the knowledge that I was obese and needed to lose weight.
So what am I going to do to maintain? Absolutely nothing different. I like how I eat, my body seems to as well so ill just keep on plodding on and if a few more pounds disappear then fantastic, and if not then that's great too. Ill just keep an eye on the scales and adjust my diet accordingly. Ill also stay on here because youve been great support over thd last / years And I've got some amazing friends from here.
Ill keep posting and commenting on your diaries and posts but probably very little in my diary, it's strange how it seems to have come to a natural end when I've accepted where I am . Do I'm not going to disappear , I don't think I could, it's just going to be different now. :)

Well done, Kat, you've done so brilliantly! Out of interest, how far outside of the "normal" BMI range are you? I ask because I've been feeling very similar to how you describe in your post - technically overweight but feeling in myself that I would be happy if no more came off. I'm proabably still about 1.5 stone overweight by BMI. :) xx

I'm going to be a way off the normal range when I get to target, to be normal I would need to be 10 stone, I think if you feel comfortable then you have to go with that, as you say you may lose a bit more but if not its no hardship x

Tracy I'm hovering between 29 and 30. The nurses that weigh me are happy with it bc they say they're wrong anyway which is telling. To get to 25 I need to be 10:7 and I can't see that happens v without looking hideous. I seem to be staying at 13:7 I'm 5ft7 and wear a size 14. That's why I'm happy. I think if they get tight ill be working on losing a bit more

Thanks Kat, that's really made me happy because our stats are almost identical. :) Like you say, much lower and I don't think I'd look brilliant - my bum has completely vanished as it is, lol. :) xx

Lucky you. My bum will never disappear. I still have to wear 16's in jeans but can wear 14's in trousers dresses and skirts. But I don't mind.

My bmi is still classed as overweight too but when I get back to 11:7 I'll be happy x

Lol, I'm a classic apple shape so the remaining fat is clinging stubbornly to my stomach - I've never had a waist and never will! :) xx

A waist is the one thing I've always had, even when fat :) it always gave me problems buying clothes. Trousers And skirts were always too big on the waist even when tight on the bum. I'm glad I've got a small waist but I suppose we are never happy are we

Lucky you! I hoping my waist reappears at some stage lol. I have the trouble that all my trousers fall down at the back .. It's my (lower) tummy keeping them up.. My bum is a size 12., just the rest of me that's still a 16 lol

Snap, although finding the running is helping with the bum and thighs, I really can relate to struggling with trousers and skirts x

You ladies have inspired me to get my running trainers dusted off!

Marcus wants to go tonight however I'm not sure my wheezy chest will manage it but I suppose no harm in trying hey! Xx

Hope your ok, just been reading the alternative day diet which is similar to the 5:2 fasting diet - but just every other day., they were saying that it would take 2 weeks for symptoms of asthma, allergies and arthritis to be reduced ..

I think Lexie said you were trying it too?

following primal blueprint and experimenting with the 5:2 fasting diet

Hi

I'm fine thanks Tara. I've been reading everyone else's stuff :) I'm definately trying the 5:2 diet. I liked the sound of it when I watched his tv programme last year and did a bit of research then. I've had a couple of sabotaged fast days so I've decided that I need to make sure my fast days are well planned and that I'm busy out if the house. Totm also arrived early this month so I decided to waituntil it was gone and start properly. But the dates are planned in my diary. So I shall report back. I did decide though on my sabotaged days that waiting as long as possible before eating was much better than small meals. I was less hungry that way but once is started eating I just wanted to find other food to nibble. I'm also still trying to incorporate more raw food into my diet. The health benefits of that are amazing

Hiya Kat! I agree with you about waiting as long as possible before eating, even though I don't plan on doing the 5:2 - I follow the route of fasting for 14 hours each day, so all my eating falls into a 10 hour period. It's a form of fasting I've read about online, although I'd started doing it instinctively quite a while back, as it suits me well. Don't know if there are really any health benefits, as with any of the fasting plans that are so trendy at the moment, but it helps me keep to my calories. :) xx

This is kind of what I do:

http://www.thefeelgoodlifestyle.com...-loss-superior-fitness-and-better-health.html

But just from the point of view of it suiting my way of eating ie. I don't eat between 10pm and noon most days. :) xx

That's interesting . It is pretty much a version of the sane thing. A lot of these variants also count the hours from when you last ate before bed/during the night. So that when you do start eating you've done quite a few hours fasting.

Well it's first proper day of fasting. Hubby is joining in with me. He doesn't need to lose weight but he did watch the programme last year and said it made sense so maybe I can be stronger if its both of us fasting.
Off to the gym with lexie. In my mind I see that as difficult but supposedly the athletes who train in a fasted state actually burn more of something or other?! Which is better. Who knows?!
