Tracy's Journey Into The Unknown (Maintenance!!)

Lol, I'm feeling much better today, thanks - I've just eaten normally. Hopefully tomorrow won't be as bad because we'll be out and about, having a picnic with my sister and brother-in-law, yum yum! :) xx

Aw I felt like that yesterday was almost grateful to be fasting today x

We had a lovely day on Anglesey yesterday. We started with a picnic in Newborough forest, which was great - I didn't hold back with what I ate, lol, and the weather was nice for a change. Then we went and had a little look at the beach, which was far too busy for our taste, but we wouldn't have been able to go on the sand with the wheelchair anyway, so they just pushed me round the wooden path that goes around the beach area. I did rather fear for my life with Kathryn pushing me, but she kept assuring me so was in full control, lol. :D

We then went to Beaumaris, which is a lovely little town with a castle, and had a wander/wheel around some crafty shops, got an ice cream, then finished up with chips on the front, looking out towards Snowdonia - it was cold and blowing a gale by then, but I was determined that's what I wanted to do as it's a bit of a tradition when we go there. :)

It was a great day, although long and tiring, and I ate far too much again, but hey, I'm on holiday, lol. The scales punished me by reading 11st 1lb this morning, but it's well deserved and I'm being good again today! :) xx

And you believed her...? ;) :p

Glad you had fun lovely. It sounds absolutely fantastic, especially the latter part :)It's worth any gain for that :)

Next time you are in the area have a look at Beddgelert - it is a beautiful village, a bit touristy but river runs through the village with quite a wide walkway at the side of it.
The Legend of Gelert, Beddgelert, Snowdonia, North Wales
We live in that Area and were in Anglesey and Beaumaris a couple of weeks ago and got our free coffee from Waitrose near the bridge. :)

Thanks, hon! :) I love Anglesey - I honestly can't remember if I've been to Beddgelert, is it on the mainland? The area has been a family favourite ever since my aunt and uncle bought a house in Bangor when both their daughters went to uni there, and we used to borrow it for holidays. Beaumaris is so pretty, and the views of Snowdonia across the Menai straits are spectacular. It was certainly very blowy yesterday evening though! :) xx

It is mainland about 20 mins from Bangor. We were in Bangor yesterday, just for the bus ride really. :)

It is certainly blowy tonight - was a beautiful sunny day but the wind has got up and nearlly blown me all the way home from Asda.

Haha, yes, it was beautiful when we were picnicking in the forest, but somewhat wilder later on! I live a couple of hours away, so not somewhere I can go too often, but North Wales has always been a holiday destination of choice for my family, ever since I was little. :) xx

Well I'm now officially on the consultant's list for knee replacement. Gulp! It should be sometime in Nov/Dec - it needs to be at least 6 months after my last op, which was 9th May. Don't mind admitting I'm pretty scared at the prospect, as it's a major op, but I know I need it. :) xx

That's good news :) I understand it's scary.. But just think how great your feel once healed :) your be tripping the light fantastic ;)

Eeeek! Exciting! :) Hopefully this will be the first day towards your new life :) Hope they don't keep you waiting too long lovely xx

I do too lovely, it'd be a lot easier for you to get round - and hopefully not have an affect on your Christmas. Have my fingers crossed tight for you :) Good luck! :)

Thanks, Stack and Lexie! I'm trying not to get too worried about it, lol. My main concern is that, obviously, they only do one knee at a time, and because mine are equally bad as one another I don't have a "good" knee to take the strain during recovery. But it's got to be done!! :) xx

or you can pay £35,000 it cost my friends employers and have them both done at the same time ;) (a large cosmetic company she had worked for since leaving school and was 65 when she had them done).
Both my other friends that had one knee done at a time have been fine - given exercise etc to do but as I said before they are both doing well now.

Thanks, hon. Yeah, paying is definitely not an option, lol. The knee I'm having done first is the most painful, whereas the other knee is the less stable, so whichever way round they do it would be problematic, I just need to make the most of it. :) xx
