Please can you stop stealing stuff every time I leave you in the kitchen. I've just returned from town and you have stolen a whole packet of biscuits I bought for the kids. a wholemeal pitta bread and a whole pack of cherry tomatoes. I love you buddy but it is very hard to like you when you behave like this. Sometimes I can't even look at you.

You know you have been bad. Please please please stop stealing. You are well fed and well loved and looked after but this bad behaviour is becoming a problem.

I know I am part to blame because I left the stuff out but you actually have had to jump up to get them and I know you know thats bad.

Me and Nathan have been training to become specialist foster parents (SFP) for a while now, in fact we were due to go to final panel dec/jan time and have a child placed with us around feb, every single person within the training programme think we would make wonderful SFP's, we have passed everything they threw at us with flighting colours...YOU have had our medical check forms for MONTHS and now right at the end you say you wouldn't pass us at panel (the only person who wouldn't) and why??????? Do I have some illness that would effect me caring for a young person? nope...do I have an illness that would damage me during the care of a young person??? nope...is my blood pressure,cholesterol etc ok?? Yep its better than someone in their early 20s!!

SO WHY???

Hi honey, they should take into consideration the fact you are loosing weight- medical advisor does just that, advises, panel do not have to go along with their recommendation if the other factors are in your favour and if your assessing social worker can demonstrate how you are on a weight reduction plan and how you meet all other competences-also get them to point out the amount you have lost since the medical was done. Panel may recommend approval with a shorter review period, although it is really down to panel members/ chair and ultimately agency decision maker who can overrule panel. If you get to panel and don't get approved you have the option to go down the independent review mechansim route ( hopefully it won't come to that) Good luck xx (p.s I'm a fostering manager/panel advisor)
