Vegetarian and wanting to give Atkins a go!

I try not to weigh myself more than once a week - it can get silly otherwise! Isn't that strange Jim, I too can weigh up to 3lbs more at night than I do first thing in the morning. Don't know where it goes.

In fact I was just talking about this phenomenon with my cousin and her husband a couple of weeks ago. My cousin's hubby said "Could it be too much vigorous s*x?". This was in front of my mother. I nearly died!
 
LMAO! I'm not sure where it goes but I'm always lighter first thing in the morning. Not that I weigh anymor though,but it was true when I was weighing daily and obsesessively.
 
Well it's official a cr@p day food wise today! Just ate out of stress and really should have been drinking the water. The scale business is probably what really started it all off. Going to wait now until Sat morning. Also I have been eating the same foods for the pas few days out of busyness and think this led to temptation with a total of 5 Atkin bars today. ... I know!

Anyways all prepared for tomorrow. Total of 17.7 NC. Will have to remember gum and mints.

I really like yoghurt for breaky do you think that it will be okay?? Veg Low Carb says yes. 100g = 3.2 NC

My name is Steve, and I'm a weighaholic :D I have to admit that I cannot stop weighing myself either, the secret I think is to not read too much into it, as long as you feel good on the diet that's the main thing, the diet is proven time and time again to work, so as long as you stick to it, it will happen eventually, there are many factors involved in how long that takes and a lot of it can be down to what you were eating before you started, I came to Atkins after doing really well on LL and it took me a good few weeks to lose what I would have lost on LL in much less time, the good thing is that I am getting to my ideal weight slower but am MUCH happier than I would be on shakes, plus I think sometimes losing it too fast can cause you to give up and put it all back on. Keep doing what you are doing and there is no doubt that sooner or later everything will work out for you.

Well today I ate;
100 yoghurt, linseeds, sweetener, cinnamon and nutmeg (absolutely delish!)
atkins advantage bar
spinach and mushroom quiche (totally atkins with a little cream and salt and pepper) with avo
atkins bar
coffee + cream
tofu and 2 cups of vege (curry with TBS of mayo)
sprite zero
2 cups of green tea, half an advantage bar (2.5 bars in comparison to 5 yesterday isn't bad, improvement actually!)

Oh and 2.5 ltrs of water.

Today i am also aiming to only eat when truly hungry and not at the times that I have so regimentedly stuck to for years. I really want Atkins/Low Carb to work. Might have to cut the bars out altogether!
 
Also haven't managed an exercise in recent weeks. About 5 sessions in 3 weeks! so not happy.

Last night I forced myself to get on the floor and do some sit ups etc. This morning I am doing 20 mins (right now ) of jogging on the spot and sit ups before i get ready for work and already i feel better.

I miss the exercise. Gym membership runs out tomorrow too so might hold off a week before I renew it and just get comfortable again with my body and exercise. May be just at home and walking.

Hopefully this will kick start my body and endorphins.

I can't understand the fat and bloated bren, and to be honest when I look at what you're eating it doesn't look much to me at all love.
 
Well Jim, tonight we went to the football and I had 1 glass of red, 200g yoghurt with berry topping (topping was little and it was all full fat (which is good) ) and I also had 3 slices of mini cheese and left the crackers.

Although I think I had an extra bar today... bugger (total of 3). The bars are my weakness and I need to cut it back to 1 a day and thats it!

I feel thin tonight and just going to finish the last 150ml of water and a cup of green tea before bed. It's now when I feel full that I nibble.
 
Also I have learnt a few things this week about my Low Carbing and these are to become my focuses for next week.

2.5 ltrs of water a day
2 cup of green tea a day
1 decaf +cream a day
make sure 3 cups of veg a day
1 atkins bar per day
only eat when hungry (tend to force breakfast down when I could really wait 2 hours)

Even though I feel good now I dont want to weigh in in the morning as a gain or staying the same will make me feel disheartened. I really dont feel that I have officially begun Atkins just getting all the knowledge right. Today was good though, except only 2 cups of vege.

I don't blame you Bren, when I first started Atkins I didn't start until I'd read pretty much the whole book, and then had a good kitchen clear out and bought in loads of food. I wanted to make sure I did it right.

As a vegetarian you really want to make sure you're getting all your nutrients so read up as much as you can and you'll know when you're ready. :)
 
Bren, I have been watching your posts since you started and I have to say I admire your tenacity, nothing has put you off of finding a way to make this work for you and I have nothing but respect for that, it might take you a bit longer to find out what works for you, but with your attitude you can only succeed.

I was pretty good yesterday. Feeling pretty food today and having dinner at a friends tonight they are cooking fish and vege (hopefully no potato). One glass of wine as well. I have only managed 700ml of water today!
B - 3 eggs and cheese scrambled with cream (1 TBS) and avocado
s - atkins bar
s - half atkins bar
l - nothing really but had 100g of yoghurt
s- coffee and cream (must say that cream is by the tsp)
s - a decaf coffee and cream

Might weigh in the morning but not likely as TOM is starting as of this afternoon!

I think I am, well actually I know I am, low carbing however my vege intake could be more. Hoping for a 4lb loss this week, Friday.

Might start being religious about weighing my meals with an old program of mine which I have much success with just switched because it was getting boring.

tuna and parmesan salad

mini muffin ( i know)
1 x minty lolly
advantage bar
3 eggs, salmon smoked, cheese, mush, avo olives (eggs etc scrambled)

still i'm inspired because i have bought the book. Oh and only 700ml of water today and 2 white/cammomile teas

bring on tomorrow. Also no walk today as had a few things pop up after work to do for work....

s - honeydew melon , decaf and cream
l - tuna salad (avo, cheese, mayo, rocket, 2 cherry toms)
s - advantage bar
d - tofu curry
s - g/tea and some berries if I need to.
