Wales Daily Diary...

30 for 30 Challenge

Despite my OH saying he has cancelled his birthday, he is in fact 30 in 30 days (yup, toyboy ;)) Plus it will also be just a few days off 6 months since I started CD, so I am going to set myself a little challenge.

Challenge - to stay 100% on 1000 for the next 2 weeks, then 100% on 1200 for the following 2 weeks.

Aim - not going to set an exact number of lbs to lose, but would be great to get to the 6st gone mark, plus I had set a target earlier on to be in non-stretch jeans, fitted t-shirt, leather jacket and killer heels for his party. I have a pair of Next skinny jeans that I can get on but create more muffins than Greggs - so would be great to tone up and try and get into them for the party. I have a size 12 leather jacket that I can wear at the moment but any loss will make it fit even better. Plus will be an incentive to buy a new t-shirt for me when I take him on his birthday shopping trip to Selfridges at the Trafford Centre.

Going to make myself a daily tick chart to go on the fridge, as I found this really useful when on SS.

Feeling really positive about this and hope this will will keep my focus for the next month :D

Sounds like a FAB plan. I am doing something like that... 30 days of 'normal' eating without binges or panics or starve-days. I am on day six and it feels great. Your incentive is great too to be able to wear your dream stuff for OH's b'day... and get some serious shopping in at Selfridges! Love the 'more muffins than greggs' comment... not for long!

Sounds like you had a fun day today with a whole day meeting!!! At least you were able to go home straight away.

Sorry you're still feeling poorly. Hopefully you'll be on the mend soon. Good idea for the goal chart, it's working for me! x

hope you dont mind me popping on hun!
Just wanted to say well done for doing so amazingly well on CD! :) I'm sure you'll look fab for your OH's birthday!

You thought about doing menu planners for the 100% 1000 and 1200 plans? I know it doesnt suit everyone but i've already done mine in preparation as i know it provides me with a focus. just a thought!

Hope you get better soon! there is nothing worse than being poorly on CD! :(

xx

Thanks for your comments guys, just about to go to bed and try and get good nights sleep. Roll on the next 30 days!

I plan out my days food the days/ night before and try to portion out the carb, fruit and protein throughout the day. So this evening I cooked enough pasta for tea tonight and lunch tomorrow. I am still on plan 1000a so just putting food together rather than meals at the moment. I have found losing the shield of ketosis hard - I never really came out of ketosis even on 810 week or when I had times off plan. And having choices again, even when I have planned what I am going to have, has been tough. I find sitting at my desk eating bizzare, for so long it was a tetra a day!

Lizz - if you want me to test out your meal ideas just let me know ;)

Night everyone x

Pleased with scales this morning. Head is clearer and headache has gone, fingers crossed for a good day. Could of course just be the Friday feeling ;)

Hope everyone has a great day today x

Morning diary, 29 days left of 30 day challenge and going ok. Stuck to plan in the main yesterday and haven't picked anything for the last couple of days. Added an extra bit of fruit but this was a decision rather than a pick, if that makes sense.

After hearing all the positive comments about running outside, and it being a beautiful morning here I went for a jog round the village. Didn't push too hard at all, nicely out of breath and warm. There are some lovely little lakes between our house and the river and it was just gorgeous this morning, and quiet. Have put a couple of pics in my album to remind me how nice it is if I have any issues with motivation getting me out again.

Meeting a friend for a coffee in town today, haven't seen her since the start of the year and she always has some hair raising stories to tell, loads of gossip (about people I don't really know) but we always have a good giggle so am really looking forward to that. Whilst I am in town am going to do a bit of window shopping and trying on, need to get measured for a bra so will go to M&S and Bravissimo and see what size they put me at.

Spoke to my best friend this morning who is currently living in India, before that she and her husband were in New York for a couple of years, and they now have a little baby. They have about 20 months left in India and it is tough not being closer. Mind you we had a 20 min chat whilst she was getting her hair cut and coloured, had a good catch up. I then sent her a mail with some photos which she picked up on her blackberry and responded straight away, so whilst we can't see each other face to face modern communication is so great and quick. But it is hard when they are so far away, but I guess it feels even further for her.

Fingers crossed the sun stays out all day, it says it is going to be 22 deg here - think that is hotter than it got during August. Hope everyone has a great day x

Today
Early morning weight - 12st 4lb
Breakfast - porridge, 1/2 banana & CD Shake (done)
Snack -CD Bar (meeting friend for coffee in town)
Lunch - TBC
Snack - small apple
Tea - Might make the turkey brochettes
Supper - Milk

Hey Wales :)

Seems like you have a lovely day planned.
It's always good catching up with people. Be interesting to see if both shops measure you in the same way. Let me know, as was looking at going to get mine measured. Pretty sure I'm back to a 36C, but best check.

Must be tough having your best mate in India. I lived in Germany and my best mate was in the UK and we'd sometimes not see other for ages, but you know someone's a best mate when you get back together and it's like you've never been apart.

Have a lovely day and weekend hunnie x

Have a great day Wales. New undies were one of the big treats of CD for me, I waited till I was at goal and the stuff I had was literally hanging off me, but so exciting to get nice pretty new stuff!

One of my best pals lives in France and I miss her LOTS but she'll always be a best pal... saw her in the summer and that was lovely. They can't get broadband where they are so no skype!(

Enjoy the coffee & meet up!

hey wales, sounds like your having a fabulous time and glad your enjoying the runs! There is nothing worse than running in an area thats uninspiring....its not good motivation! :(

there is nothing worse than having a best mate that lives away! Mine is only 70 miles away so dont get to see her very often but when we do its fabulous! Our problem is that she is useless with technology...a blackberry would terrify her! lol. Its great that even in India you can communicate so freely...i know its not the same as face to face but still worthwhile!

hope the bra fitting goes ok and you enjoy the rest of the day :D

xx

What a lovely sunny day today, even though we sat in the shade for the coffees! Didn't get measured for a bra as there was a huge queue in both places. I am not buying until payday so no great shakes. Had a mooch round the shops, trying on lots of things. I have lived here for over 10 years and never been in River Island until today, and found a top in there that will be on the wish list until pay day - black with loads of sequins and shoulder pads - very glam. Confused OH as I showed him a pic I had taken on the phone and as there were 360 deg mirrors I took a picture of my back - if you have never been in a 360 degree mirrored changing room then I guess you could be confused! Also found a lovely long knit Diesel dress in TK Maxx - somehow don't think that will still be there on payday. I then went in Harvey Nichols, and whilst didn't feel quite up to scratch and I am still poor it was great to browse the clothes and know there were at least 1 or 2 things that would go close.

Looking forward to the turkey brochette for tea, also have bought some new supplies of brown rice - I had cleared out my cupboards when I started CD.

Am glad it is not me in India, her latest facebook status said she was at the hairdressers 5 and a half hours and hates the cut - oops. You never know she might come home sooner rather than later!

Hope everyone else is blessed with sunshine and enjoying the weekend :)

Hello Wales,
Welcome over here hon, I was away when you moved over so just want to wave madly and say well done hon as you have done fab..
Also wanted to wish you all the best for your IVF appoinment....... Its so exciting hon and although it can be tough whilst going through it its so worth it hon...... I have my nearly 4 year old little monkey as a result of IVF....
I know Julie is here to ask any questions but if you ever need a chat or to ask anything give me a shout x

Morning curly and thanks for the welcome, anoyher one up stupidly early?!?! So glad to see you had a fab holiday, looked wonderful in that sun. I am sure I will be in touch with ivf questions. What is so scary, and exciting, is that you don't know until you start what you are in for. I am raring to go and just focussing on being as fit and healthy as I can be.

You were a real motivator on the other boards with your genuine positive attitude and approach to CD, and of course withyour great weightloss. Hope you have a lovely Sunday and thanks v. much for your support. X

28 days of 30 day challenge left. Very suprised by early morning weight, and very pleased. Even though it isn't official it puts me under 170 :D

Need to do some shopping for the additional ingredients for the 1000b meals - lemon, garlic, cherry toms etc. But the turkey last night was gorgeous, and it felt like a real meal rather than protein with salad or veg as there were more components. Looking forward to trying out the rest of the meals this week.

Am aching after my run yesterday and then walking round town in very flat sandals. But am definitely going out for another jog today, this time with OH once he gets himself up. We are also rearranging the living room furniture today - so a bit of manual labour to keep me moving the rest of the day. If the rearrangement works we can then repaint the walls and get some new curtains - I just fancy a refresh and a change.

Not so sunny today but still early and not raining, hope everyone else has a great Sunday.

Today
Early morning weight - 12st 1lb
Breakfast - Porridge
Snack -Shake
Lunch - TBC
Snack - small apple
Tea - Turkey brochettes
Supper - Milk

ooohhh hun well done on getting under 170!:D another super milestone achieved!

The post-run feelings arent great, but just keep pushing through. alternate the type of run you do each day so do a real gentle one today and just take in your surroundings! :D

I'm looking forward to trying those turkey things! I love cooking but i am worrying about how much my food bill isnt going to be when i am working up the plans!EEEK!
glad your enjoying the cooking though! :D

Hope you have a super day honey

xx

Hi Wales,

Have had a smooch through your diary. Have you been running before? I've just started lately, but haven't really a clue what I'm doing so just taking it very very slowly - next one for me will be on Monday when I have dropped my little monkey at Childminders - probably only very short, but will see how I get on.

Your dinners sound scrummy too! Turkey brochettes - mmmm!

Under 170 on scales too is fab, and I am certain with all the exercise it will keep coming down too!

Have a lovely Sunday! xx

Not so well today...

Am not well, had mad shakes this afternoon from a high temp - rigor - they called in on NHS Direct. Do not have Swine Flu but might have secondary infection after boil and cystitis. So if I go into uncontrollable shakes again I have to ring out of hours GP. OH is at a rugby game, rang father in law to ask if he would pick him up. Mother in law (who is in health care) spoke to me and advised me to speak to Swine Flu hot line - I said do you have the number for me, she said ring 118 118 :sigh: Honestly I could hardly push the buttons of the phone and couldn't speak, but she did offer to be my flu friend! I was actually very scared :( had a couple of tetras to make sure blood sugar wasn't an issue (I did think of you Liz!)

Any hoo, whilst I was on with the super lovely NHS Direct nurse it stopped and I just got hotter and hotter. So paracetamol and bed rest, take off the million layers and do nothing (feel ok for laptop in bed though ;))

So all things considered I am going to up the steps to 1500+, be sensible but eat. Yes I need to be under 30 BMI for ivf, but more than that I need to be well and I think I am just a haven for little bugs and viruses.

This mornings weigh in marked 4lbs over 6 stone in 5 months, so I can't complain at all. But that is a lot for my new little body to compute! I have truly loved every minute of CD, every lb gone forever and of course Minis - every supportive conversation and encouragement and reading others stories with wonder and awe and I truly believe that gave me the will and motivation to get where I am - hot and sweaty in bed? ooh err missus :p

I am still going to post on here but need to focus on getting healthy so when we go see the consultant I glow (and not just from an infection). The weight loss becomes addictive, and I need to step away from that right now.

So, anyone think I have any chance of shouting directions to OH to [successfully] make spag bol this evening when he comes back from the rugby? Think they have won (come on you Tigers) so he will be in great mood.

Sorry it is a bit long, but I want to write it down to remind myself of how scared I was in case I think about dropping down again.

Hope everyone is weller than me and had a great weekend :) xxx

Edit - just revised my target and ticker and had a little cry, pesky viruses xxx

Wales,
Just wanted to send you big big hugs hon. Sorry to hear you have been really poorly. Your health does definately come first hon.
Get yourself better........
Take care love & hugs xxx

Thanks guys, doc confirmed as probably a kidney infection and has given me a week of antibiotics and to go back to have further investigations if it doesn't clear up. Had another little episode during the night but promptly took paracetamol and it didn't really escalate. But didn't sleep that well last night so am working from home today, tho my work broadband is playing up so I can't get into my email or drives so might be a quiet day.

Hope everyone else is doing well x
