Well done Woofy.. a very well deserved loss. x

It must be all that extra exercise woofy. ;)

Hello All , just popped in to say I've lost 1kg - averaging a kg a week since I started Atkins 5 weeks ago. The weight loss is not fab - but steady and I would be happy with a kg loss per week for the next 6 months!

Well done to everyone for their losses this week.

Well done trish, that was me on induction a steady 2lbs a week, week after week. :)

hey trish! well done. 2kgs is great! remember most of us count in lbs so 5kgs in 5 weeks is fab!

Well done on your losses guys, Woofy bet it feels great to be so close!

Been for my weigh in this morning and I've gained 4lb. I'm not too worried as I think I'm retaining water at the mo with switching from Lipotrim. Googled reasons this morning and a few add up:
1 - Its alot warmer than it has been (I'm hypothyroid so I'm always cold but past few days I've been really hot which is not like me..... even been to bed without socks!!!)
2 - Just been for my Depo jab this morning so even though I don't have them it may be my TOTM
3 - (This one I think is main reason) Increase in sodium/salt - This last week I've had some ham salads, kabanos and put some garlic salt and low carb stock cube in my minced beef the other night and it tasted salty.

So this weeks plan is to not have alot of cheese incase its making me stall too, and try not to eat much processed meats and stick with proper cuts and fish.

Cathy - you are so positive and good on you for not letting it get you down. Get drinking that water and it will fall off!

Thanks Vicky, think I must have drank around 6 litres last night and 4 every other day its a wonder I don't sound like a walking water bed sloshing around!!! Another reason I think it must be water is my work uniform feels tighter again but it didn't feel that tight another 8-10lbs ago and I feel big especially on my face and "muffin-top".

It does make me a little disheartned but I know I'm making a big adjustment and I know I've not had anything I shouldn't have and I'm still in Ketosis so I've just got to wait and see for now.

good for you hon. It does take time. when did you come over to Atkins babe?

Good for you Cathy, I like your positivity love.

NO!!!!

5. What medications interfere with or need adjustment during the diet?
[FONT=verdana, arial]
ANSWER: Virtually all medications interfere. The most incompatible medications are:
  1. Diuretics (water pills)
  2. Psychotropic drugs, including prozac, zoloft, lithium, etc.
  3. Hormones and steroids, including estrogen (premarin), birth control pills and prednisone.
  4. Arthritic drugs, especially NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs)
  5. Cholesterol lowering drugs.

  6. All anti-diabetic medications, including insulin with the exception of glucophage.
  7. Tranquilizers
  8. Seizure medications.
Fortunately, doctors who work with the diet can usually use it and certain supplements to help you get off each and every one of the above or taper you to minimal doses. Please DO NOT COME OFF MEDICATIONS BY YOURSELF without medical supervision.

well im on hormones (in the iud)

I think you can read too much into medication. I was told by a dietician that atkins is the best "diet" to lose weight when on steroids
