Weight loss Bucket list

Malc-D

One day at a time
I just came up with this idea another thread i write on, and i thought i would start it for real.
I have done a quick search and can't find anything like it, but if it already exists the admin can delete this one :)

The idea is of a bucket list..

typically a bucket list, is a list of things to do before you die.. morbid i know, but this one is slightly different as it's a weight loss bucket list.
i don't mean, i want to lose x Stone x pounds by a week past next pancake tuesday..

The weight loss Bucket list is a list of things you want to achieve as and when (and after) your weight is lost .. no time limit, just the things you want to do in life that you never could due to weight problems or lack of fitness.

heres what i want (probably add more at a later date):

i want to:

1) fit comfy in all large clothes
2) be able to run a 30k (by xmas) and a full marathon (by end of may) on a xtrainer.
3) run 5k (on the road) for charity followed by 10k's, 1/2 marathons and a full marathon.
4) Hike up a mountain

thats all i can think of for now, i bet there will be more.. i'm going to use my Bucket list as motivation to push myself into keep going. I've lost all this weight, and now i'm going to use my new body to do things i've always dreamed of doing, but never could.

Feel free to add things you want to achieve, no time limits, no preasure. just dreams that you will achieve when the weight finally starts to comes off.

Malc :D x

Great idea! There's a few things I'd love to do but I don't meet the weight / bmi criteria, so when I've reached my end target (providing that it's still withing their limits, obviously) I want to...

~ Go in a hot air balloon
~ Jump out of a plane
~ Go zorbing

I would love to try horseriding, maybe a bit old to start now but when we go to Vancouver my G'daughter is going on a hack in the foothills of Whistler/Balckcomb mountains, and I would so love to be able to join her.
At the moment I am fractionally too heavy, [by 4lbs] to try out at our local equestrian centre and I'm not even sure my arthritic hips would allow me to mount a horse, but boy do I want to try..

some amazing ideas :D

makes me sad when you see these 'adventure' days out and it says .. 'weight limit'
i guess i'll have to go thru them all and see what i can do now, and what i have to lose to be able to do it.

so many things, so little time :p lol

As of tonight just 2.5lbs over weight limit for riding:D

I want to fit back into size 16 clothes, even a 14 :D (feeling cheeky for that size lol)
BMI be in the 'overweight' section to then go down to 'normal'
go horse riding again
not be embarrassed with my weight

more to come...

You CAN do it Jess, if I can do it at my age, anyone can. The difference it has made to me losing 4st is astronomical, and I still have a way to go. I will do it though, for almost the first time in my life I want my BMI to read in the low 20s not the 40s

thank you!! Yeah i got my 4 stone award last night :D its amazing the difference in loosing that weight. Had a struggle after getting my 3 1/2 stone as went to 'slack' with the diet an was loosing, gaining, loosing, gaining etc. so im SO happy im out of that rut and back to loosing an loosing :)
how much more you wanting to loose? ive too still got alot more to go

I want to lose another 2st 7lbs. I could afford to lose more for my height, but at my age I'm afraid of becoming 'scrawny' the skin doesnt bounce back as well as you age unfortunately, and 10st.7lbs takes me into a healthy BMI

love this idea. ive a load of things i want to do that my weight is preventing me from doing.

I want to
run a 5K, then a 10K for charity by the time im 30 in May next year.
go kayaking down a river
do a white collar boxing night
drive a ferrari(im also a 6ft5 petrolhead)
go drifting
scubadive and snorkel in Thailand
fit into xl clothes and be able to shop in any clothes shop.
shock my friends after a few months of putting off nights out

this is what i can think of for now. really would like to continue and reach my goal but also work had to get fit

i would love to be able to:
`kayak down a river'
'play around of golf without feeling knackered'
go hiking or cycling in the hills
Snorkeling and diving
Generally more outdoorsy and adventurous.
Right now I'd settle for feeling good about myself and my appearance.

I want to walk into a very 'posh' clothes shop and buy a really nice suit, hand made .. i don't go out that often, that a suit is needed but i would just love to look amazing in a classy suit

I LOVE this! I had always wanted to try scuba diving but worried I wouldn't fit into a wetsuit, and in July I was able to do it. Felt so great to be able to do something I have always wanted to.

My new bucket list:
1. Do 10km and half marathon
2. Dragon boating
3. Trek the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal
4. Never again let my weight stop me from doing things I want to do!

hmm interesting topic

firstly i would like to go back to horse riding. i have the opportunity to help exercise a lively horse, but at the moment i would squash him lol
i want to buy new sexy underwear
i want to get into my size 14 wardrobe that hubby bought me 9 years ago (still current)
i dont want to be the fat one in my family. my sister in laws are all slim, but i am healthier and fitter than them all.

Something new to add:

* Have ran 35K on a cross trainer now, so a new goal is to run the full marathon, 42.2K
* i can fit comfortably in large sizes in most supermarket brands, but am working on the high street stores now ( because we all know that we are different sizes depending on the shop you get the clothes from)
* i want to be able to do 100 push ups, by end of next year (i can do half push ups, where you go down a few inches, but i mean a full face to the floor, push up)
* i would love to write a book on my weight loss journey. just for me to look back on, not to put on sale, maybe a photo album book showing the change.. i dunno, just an idea
* i'm thinking of getting a tattoo as well, only when i hit my final goal ( so, over a year from now) no idea what to get tho .. hmm!

will think of more later :D

Love this thread.... my bucket list could be never ending!

So in no particular order....
To be able and comfortable to wear a skirt
To be comfortable to go on a girlie spa weekend
Not to be the fat friend, sister, auntie, daughter
To take my children swimming
To get a tattoo on my hip
To be able to wear a sleeveless top and be comfortable
To look in the mirror and not have to hide the tears
To wear shorts in summer
To be comfortable to walk in to a skinny shop (ie Top shop, river island, bank, zara etc etc- I wont even go in them to buy a hand bag coz I'm convinced people are looking and thinking what the hell is she doing in here!)
To meet people my OH works with and not feel like a total embarrassment to him
To be healthy for my children and for them to have a mummy to be proud of

There are tons more!

What a great thread.
Mine would be:
Be able to shop in ANY shop and not be limited to Evans & inspire :(
Skydive.
Be able to wear nice underwear.
Be able to run for longer then 1 minute.

Am sure theres alot more but these will do for now :)

I want to wear a white shirt tucked into black jeans and not worry about my belly and bum!

To paint my toes without holding my breath.

To have a informal photo shoot by my photographer friend www.annabowkisphotography.com

To go through the bliddy turnstiles at my gym without getting stuck halfway!
