Weight loss Diary & General musings...

lovely - a bit of a shabby chic / cath kidston-y vibe?

depends on how many guests you're having and your budget, but as far as I can see wedding flowers can get really expensive if you want lots of centrepieces with lots of luxury flowers. and gosh yes - stay 'in season' wherever you can. the price difference is enormous.

although for a summer wedding, and a rustic, vintagey feel, peopnies would be my first choice to have somewhere in there - not ultra cheap, but you could just use them for your bouquet.

peonies are the big pink ones in this picture:

or David Austin/Heritage roses (more messy and swirly and fat than traditional roses):

They are gorgeous, and they fill up alot of space too so maybe a few of those mixed in with abit of greenery and other 'in season' flowers.

Still waiting to hear back from venues so we can get a date set, can't do much until then cos we don't know how many tables we'll have, how many people we can invite etc etc.
Fingers crossed I get an email back today! So many pretty things to make...

I realise I'm late but congratulations :D That's fab news xxx

Thanks sweets!

i was only engaged for five months, but you get to really revel in this!

and (unlike me) you'll be a slim bride, too. so excited for you honey. get the venue and ceremony booked asap, and everything else can wait - you have the luxury of putting together a scrapbook and changing your mind often. Have you bought any bridal magazines yet?

I bought one at the train station when we went out Saturday and a friend of mine is getting married in a few months and she's mega obsessed so she has a huge stack for me, can't wait to get those!
Even next year seems too soon lol, but we really wanted it to be in 2013 as its the year of the snake and we are both snakes.
It will feel amazing to be 'slim' on my wedding day, can't wait till I'm at goal so I can start trying on dresses.

Just got an email back to go for a viewing next Saturday for one of the places I was looking at, its not the one I have my heart set on, (they haven't got back to me yet!) but I'm keeping my options open and the one I like might not be as great in person. Its all so exciting!

Found a deal on 100 mini white galvanized buckets I'm going to use for favours and place settings, dare I buy them now? If I get white it will go with any theme and I can decorate with ribbons ... ooo temptation..

I've been sneaky peeking for ideas as my wedding is 1st September and all I've got so far is my dress, bridesmaids dresses and venue! Confetti isn't a bad site for some ideas.

I'll check them out thanks!

you're not in london are you, beanflower? Need a florist? ;):D

Kat - as you go through the magazines, tear out anything and everything that catches your eye. You can make a scrapbook with different sections (dresses, flowers, cake etc) - or perhaps keep a concertina file to keep all you clippings in.

Don't buy the buckets! That's your first idea - you might have loads more between now and next year (wedding forums are full of people saying "i found xxxx i bought 14 months ago for favours. I'd completely forgotten them / forgot where i put them / lost them / etc"). I promise people will still sell mini buckets in a year's time.

or buy them anyway. what the hell, it's your wedding. just promise you won't start blethering on about "your perfect day".

No, unfortunately, I'm up in North Yorkshire. Need to get my finger out and start doing some more planning.

Definitely a better idea to start thinking about ideas early! I'm going to end up doing much usual trick of trying to get everything done last minute if I'm not careful.

I would also take a look at Love My Dress Wedding Blog - A UK Wedding Blog for lots of inspiration

This link was to a great vintage themed wedding here at Danby Castle that was featured on the blog How to Fill a Castle Full of Love - Part 1... - Love My Dress Wedding Blog - A UK Wedding Blog

Also have a look at Best UK Wedding Blog · Rock n Roll Bride - Sassy from Assassynation is also featured on here a lot.

On twitter weddings is huge! I was once in the top 10 wedding tweeters, but am too busy to tweet now!!! But it is a fab place to get recommendations etc.

Yes defo like Spangles says with the flowers - Peonies and the David Austin roses are gorgeous, we get a lot of brides have the vintage pinky/green rose - not sure what it is called, but bet Spangles knows!

You must've read my mind, I have found so much I like in the past few days but I know I am bound to find more and have more ideas. I won't get the buckets yet but I have saved them for if I do! I have a couple indoors so I want to make some mock ups before I do anyway.
Everything changes once the venue is booked, the theme/decorations etc all has to fit in with that

St Nicholas Church in Guisborough and then Rushpool Hall (I've got an obsession with the peacock room!) x
