T'interweb rumours suggest a Drop Dead Fred remake starring Russell Brand. He confirmed it in 2009, IMDB has it as in progress with a release of 2014. Has gone very quiet on it so dont know if it was canned. Maybe its for the better!

Oh I can sooooo see Russell Brand playing the part of Drop Dead Fred. I know not everyone's a fan but I love him!!

I used to love watching an old Diana Dors movie where there was 2 children who went back in the past and there was a fire in a big house, it used to be on most christmases, not sure what its called

and also the railway children which i still think is a great movie and book.
