In a booking hotels mood Lacey - so any ideas?? Again what area to be in, or not to be in!!!

Hotels wise, I would go for City Centre if you are googling and having a browse. I will look into this over the next couple of nights but there are many well known hotel chains in central York. Radisson, Best Western, Hilton, Novotel, off the top of my head and loads of other lovely 3star/4 star hotels right down to your basic clean/comfy Bed & Breakfasts.

I will do a bit of research and post some links over this weekend.

The Mount area of York is not too far away from the centre. For anyone who doesn't know York that well, this area is close to the racecourse.

I think we're looking at it being the last weekend of September....26th & 27th (Friday & Saturday).

I have a feeling I've posted the Monday/Tuesday by accident so best go back and check pronto!!!

Hi everyone....

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING ACCOMMODATION.........

The meet is being held on Friday 26th & Saturday 27th September....NOT 29th & 30th as I have accidentally put in my inital post!!!!

As is pretty usual at meets now, there is the option to make it a 2 night stay if you like and arrive on the Friday, meet up for a drink/meal/water etc on the evening..OR arrive Saturday for the "Official" meet up at 1pm in town and take it from there.

For anyone who hasn't been to York before and likes to shop....you'll be in retail heaven! We've also got the Minster (can't really miss it!), the Yorvik Viking centre if you fancy doing some travelling back in time and LOADS of informal bars, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs!!!!
