Hi Lou, glad you had a lovely anniversary. When I run I get terrible trouble with shin splints and with my knees - makes you wonder if this exercise lark is good for you! I'm swimming for a while to try to tone up without any pressure on my legs, but want to start running again to get ready for run for life.
Sorry you had an incident at work. Sometimes you just want to get away from the kids if you're with them all day. I work in a school for excluded kids and eat my lunch away from them as if you're not working during your lunch I think you should have the chance for a break. Hope tommorrow is ok and you don't get hassle.

Hey - well trying to avoid running and have done one of the Davina 30min workouts - cardio...am sweating like a piggy - according to AP calculator - 30mins aerobics is 1.5pts? Surely not? I am well sweaty! I can get that for walking for half hour?????
 
All depends on your weight and the exertion rate.

For 30mins cardio at my weight it is usually about 3 Aps (1 for each 10mins) but that is heavy going, not able to talk stuff, which I reckon Davina would be as its well hard.

For 30mins walking it would be about 1.5pts.

Glad you had a lovely anniversary meal - and bonus that none of the points will count. :eek:
 
You see Lou exercise is not all its cracked up to be, I didn't get to this splendid size without firmly believing that. If you're sweating it must be at least 3 points I 'm sure and if its not it should be.

Did that bath work so well for your back because you were not alone in there? Whatever if it worked do some more.

Well, have done a few calculations... 5 mins at the beginning and again at the end is warm up... Stretching out and light movements and then it's 20mins hard coreness... lol - so 20mins HI for me is 2.5... so gonna say 2.5 and disregard the 10mins to make sure it's ok. 30mins HI is 4 points so I think a 2.5 is a good estimate.

:D I actually did spend the entire hour in the bath alone....oh did pop up for a quick perve but that was about it...! Pain is back again today... not quite sure what to do... back man is needed soon I thinks!

I hope it sorts itself out a bath is good but if your back is sore you should be reducing the swelling and inflamation with cooling things like a swim perhaps?? Otherwise you are just encouraging the inflamation.

Aww Lou sorry to hear about your back hun! .... Dont go doing to much! .. have you tried those pad things you can get for backs? .. heard good things about them
 
If you're still getting trouble from your back tommorrow try some voltarol tablets, these will take any inflammation you may have and mask the pain, so hopefully it may heal. Hope you get a good sleep and its better in morning.

I've not been for a swim for about 2 years! But perhaps I should eh? It is easing...if it remains bad then I may change my tactics... I managed some movement today in the form of Davina but we'll see. x

i have one of those wheat packs that you warm in the microwave and i swear by it

Ah, my mummy has one of them.... I have a hot water bottle downstairs but those wheatbags smell nice :)

My daddio has Volterol...swears by them... thought they were prescription? I'll just steal some off the old man tomorrow... :) Thanks hun - off on a drugs hunt tomorrow. x x x
 
Ooo happy anniversary dahlin!!! Glad you had a lovely one! Pants about that other teacher...no biggie though, she was probably just having an off-day herself! I'd totally let that stuff go! Let's face it, you did nothing wrong...not like you killed her cat or something!!! ;)x
 
Hi, hope your better today. No, voltarol are behind the counter medicine. I don't think you need to take them long, it just means the pain eases so rests the back which hopefully means it will get better quicker.
