Eugh, struggling at the minute, I feel like I can do well when I'm in plan, but when things crop up so that I can't stay to plan, I go the other way and eat so much, I can't seem to strike the balance :-(
Lots of us get like that - I'm either on plan or totally off! I felt starving (or was I just bored?) an hour ago so had my tea chilli with rice and Slimming World chips and a low fat hot choc - ok now - what are u going to eat? SW chips are just potatoes cut as chips boiled until just soft the cooked in oven on fairly high heat sprayed with fry light or a mix of half oil and half water - they're lovely and might just fill u up if u have no other plans??? Hope the munchies go away soonersooner
I've just been eating crap all day and had a big bar of galaxy there.not even eating out of hunger, just eating for the sake of it cos I have the whole 'oh well, the day is blown now' mentality. Normally I can be rational, but I think once I start doing it, all common sense goes out the window!
I've planned my food for tomorrow. Tuesday I am going away for the evening for my oh's 30th birthday and we are having a nice dinner(and realistically, probably not the healthiest lunch). Then on wed we get a cooked breakfast at the hotel, but hopefully after that I can eat normally again. I don't want to stick to plan while we are away as we rarely do nice things like this, so I suppose I just have to accept it will affect my loss this week. I have a Heard time remembering it's a marathon not a sprint, and I've given up so many social occasions in the past due to fear of gaining. Think I need to remember there will be ups and downs to the journey!
Sorry for rambling, just helps to get it out sometimes!
I'm trying to start exercise too - read somewhere that exercise helps to tone us up and obviously good for us but to burn a pound off you need to: - burn off 3,500 calories - which is 2 hours cycling - maybe it's that which puts me off starting exercise!! It always says of course it depends on ur weight/height etc Hope you have a good week this week and have a loss - u deserve itx
Glad you got 2moro planned and going to enjoy ur night away - best to write today off, do your best 2moro and start again when you get back! You'll only have over eaten on 2 days!! If only we knew what makes us eat when we're not hungry hey? Like you I think it's great to be able to post here!
Definitely agree that exercising helps. I'm now cycling to and from the station each day really lifts my mood and makes me feel like I'm taking control of my body.
Don't under estimate the impact of walking, if it's raising your heart rate even just a little then it's going to be helping. I got myself a pedometer last summer to track my steps when walking aiming for the 10,000 steps a day. I found myself really making the effort as I could see the numbers mounting up.
