25 stone to 19 stone in 8 months.

Very similar - but in a different shape so I guess they call it different things/make it in different sizes - so they can sell the same thing and make money.

Happy to say I have maintained my loss and am still at 338 today.

Moreover, my BMI is below 60 for the first time in about 3 years!

I now feel more optimistic that I can and will reach my goal!

Well done hun! :)

I think - I hope - seeing the work and the losses and the numbers on the scales has curbed your urge to overeat/eat when not hungry :) I hope it keeps going well for you love xx

So happy to see you making progress Helena. looks like you've found something that works.

HOW can you have missed chomp bars!! they are not like Cadbury caramels, they are the harder, chewy caramel. more like a curly wurley, but in a small bar... YUM

Hi girlfriends!

Thanks for the support!

I don't know why I am finding this so easy this time. It is way easier than Atkins. I must have been mad to keep on trying that when clearly it did not work for me. I'm much happier being able to eat whatever I want.

Claire I hope you don't fall off the wagon when you are away... please, please don't ~ it's just not worth it. We are all in this together now, have to carry on, for each other :)

I think a harder bar would be more satisfying and then I probably would not want to eat more than one.

I searched for Chomp in Asda and all it found was dog food!

I ordered 5 Slimfast caramels from Asda but they didn't have any so they subbed them with Slimfast meal bars. I tried one yesterday and it was horrible.

Therefore I currently have no chocolate whatsoever in the house. The only sweet treats are yoghurts and plums.

I like those chic slim fast meal bars!! Funny what works for each of us. The great variety of life :)

im im cautiously optimistic that I can stick to sensible eating. a few glasses if wine might be my treat though...

Sounds yummy. Only question - do you not find that so much bread bloats you? I struggle with 3 slices! Couldn't imagine eating 10 :(

Hi Jojo

I fully expected bread to bloat me (it used to!) but it doesn't. Maybe abstaining from it for so long reset something in my digestive tract? I also toast ALL my bread before use.

Ten slices of the Warburton loaf I buy is really like 5 slices of normal sized bread. Each slice is only 58 calories, reflecting how tiny they are!

I'm finding that cutting each toasted sandwich into four tiny squares, and eating them slowly along with a pint of tea, is extremely filling and keeps me going till the next meal.

TBH I am struggling to find enough appetite to eat 2,000 calories in a day. I could easily have left it at 1300 yesterday had my lodger not given me that chocolate.

I think having constant allergic reactions (I don't know what I am allergic to) and asthma attacks helps, as I feel low grade malaise all the time, without much appetite, and have zero sense of taste.

Fessing up.

I was feeling really miserable today. Suffering from allergies I hobbled, gasping, to the pharmacy for more medications. On the way back I looked so ill that two people actually stopped and asked if I was OK and could they do anything. Truth is, I was struggling to get enough breath to walk home. Anyway, I cracked and bought a 120g box of Maltesers, which I then gobbled down through my tears with a pint mug of tea.

I only developed allergic reactions and asthma when I was 54 years old (two years ago) so I am not yet used to managing them. It's rotten, and very often has been scary (been rushed to A&E by ambulance five times!) Unfortunately, I have absolutely no tolerance for being ill.

I still have not worked out what I am allergic to, so it looks like it might be house dust mites. The mystery is, how come I can go 4 or 8 or even 12 weeks with no symptoms, then, suddenly, BANG I get an attack and then have reactions every day for a week or two, then it goes away again. I have no patience and just want it to go away now as I have a lot of projects on the go and cannot do anything much other than lay on the sofa!

Just used up a loaf, so tomorrow is a convenient time to try giving up wheat for a week, to see if i feel better without it.

My worry about this is that I will be ravenous and end up overeating. I shall have to replace wheat with potatoes, that might do the trick.

2500 calories today.

Woke up with hacking cough, wheezy chest and runny nose.

But had a good breakfast!

Romaine
Cucumber
Red pepper
Red cabbage
Spring onions
Tomato

20g strong grated cheddar
50g smoked salmon
50g smoked ham

tbsp light mayo
tbsp light salad cream
Salt and pepper

Cheers, Princess

Chezz ... giving up bread is one thing you can do as an experiment. After all, it does not hurt to live without it for a while and see what happens. If it make no difference we can re-introduce it.

I have just read an article about wheat and allergic rhinitis. Sounds wacky but I'll try ANYTHING to get rid of this allergic reaction as it's ruining my life.

It's definitely worth narrowing it down. When I was a kid I had ridiculously bad asthma. We ended up even having to move out for about 3 months as back then we lived in a council house and they had to do a lot of work to it as the mould and damp were setting me off something chronic. Is it possible for you to speak to the doctor about perhaps a food allergen test? I know nothing about it - or even if it's possible - but it might see if there's something in the wheat/gluten thing?

That sounds terrible, poor you :-(

Doc did allergy blood test in Feb, conclusion was that I am not allergic to anything. Hmph!
