Thanks for the replies gals!
Do you think perhaps you could be anaemic or have low blood sugar? This could explain the dizzy spells. I get like that around my period and I if I eat lots of iron rich foods I feel better.
How did you day end yesterday? And what are you meal plans for today? Xx
Yes I am sure it was low blood sugar. I sometimes have "hypo" attacks. I used to have very severe reactive hypoglycaemia but it's not a huge problem these days unless I don't eat enough, or eat sugar without fats to slow down the absorption. Even today I would not drink, for example, a glass of Coke, even if I was not on a diet. I've had a terrific hypo from eating cherries on an empty stomach, too.
After eating 2200 calories yesterday I woke up feeling much more alive, and with enough energy to go and do 45 minutes of aqua-zumba, aka "water disco". I've paid my yearly pool membership for 12 years now. Sometimes, when I've started a new diet, I've aqua-danced as frequently as every other day. I gave up swimming up and down like a goldfish years ago, when I saw an aqua-fit class and thought "Wow, that looks like fun!" So I joined one class, learned the moves, and never attended another class. Instead I bought myself a pair of foam barbells via Amazon, £9.99 which are twice as big and therefore twice as hard as the ones the pool owns.

I just made the aquafit-type moves for a few years. Then they invented the waterproof MP3 player! I bought a Speedo Aquabeat and it totally transformed my water-workout. I choose my own music, my favourites of course, and it motivates me, keeps me kicking and pumping even when it's hard going, and makes the whole exercise thing a fun experience. It's just like having your very own water-disco!

This morning I tried not to go TOO crazy to "Blame it on the Boogie" (Michael Jackson tracks are all fab for aqua-fit). I didn't want to do too much too soon after being totally inactive for six months. I would normally do 60 or 90 minutes, but I kept it down to 45 today and will build back up. I expected to be hurting but back home now and no aches or pains. Not bad for 56 and 25 stone, eh?
I've never let my weight stop me from going to the pool. At my heaviest in 2010 I was 26 stone 9 and wore a dress size 34 costume. Other swimmers have sometimes told me that their mother/daughter/friend refuses to go swimming because they are "too fat". Enquiry reveals that these women are a size 16 or 18. I always say, tell them to come along with me and they can hide behind me.
In 12 years I've never had a single insult, been stared at (so far as I know) or had anything negative said to me on account of my weight.
Mind you I have dance music blasting in my ears most of the time so I would not be able to hear them, anyway LOLOL
And if people are thinking to themselves "Oooh, she's fat!" well so what? A second later they will be looking at someone else and thinking "Oooh, he's old!" or "Ooh, she's wrinkly" or "Oh look at those horrible tattoos". People will always look at others and disapprove of
something about them, so why worry or even think about it? There's a young woman comes to our pool who's had her leg amputated up to the hip. If SHE can walk around poolside with her stump showing, head held high and not caring who stares (and they do ~ they cannot help themselves!) then us fatties can!
Anyway ... I am now back into the swing of things. The staff on reception all cried out when they saw me: "Where have YOU been?" and "Hello, stranger!" It's nice to know that you are missed. I'd left some stuff in a locker 6 months ago and taken the key home, and felt certain they would have broken into it and removed me stuff, but no! I opened it and all my stuff was there. It was like coming home!
I'm quite excited that I have 1,200 calories left for today (if keeping to 1700) and more if I want them. Wow.
