5th WI & 5%!!!

Woe betide me!

So, this week has been ToTM. I've been relatively good, been to the gym three times so far for classes / general workout. But as of Friday evening, I was, well, a lot hungrier than normal. I can only blame hormones.

Unfortunately, yesterday I was still ravenous, and was a family BBQ, at which I ate and drank practically double my points. I went on a pretty empty stomach (oops) which probably wasn't the smartest idea to begin with.

I racked up the damage and it is approximately
2 small slices of garlic bread
some savoury rice
a burger
a hotdog
a spring roll
two slices of margherita pizza
a generous slice of sponge cake filled with cream and marzipan
a sliver of chocolate fudge cake
2 beers
several glasses of pimms

why, oh why, oh why, oh WHY do i sabotage myself!

:(

I'm on the salads and fruit now until Tuesday WI, and hope I've not done too much damage, but when I hopped on the scales today, I was two pounds heavier than I was yesterday (which is the same weight I've been since WI :( )

Just feeling unmotivated, but really trying to tell myself to draw a line under it, that some of the weight is probably water retention, and to just keep going - otherwise I'll end up gaining even more.
 
Aww Hun totally draw that line. Everyone struggles especially at bbq's! Exercise makes me dead hungry so I don't blame you after 3 loads of classes. Just stick to your points until WI and I'm sure you will be fine xxx
 
^^ what Rachael said... defintely get that line drawn,new day tomorrow :) Keep going and dont give up cos of one BBQ!!! Bet you'd have eaten way more than that before you started the path to where you want to be... I would have probably eaten double that :p!

I've been to the gym tonight (I don't usually go on Mondays) and am going on Saturday as well (another day I usually don't go) in a desperate bid to do better this week as I know I'm going to gain tomorrow :( I weighed myself today and I was 0.5lb heavier than YESTERDAY when I stuck to plan :( which means I've gained about 2.5lbs since last WI O_O

I just don't understand it. 1lb on, yeah I'd understand that, but 2.5? I've been glugging water like a fish today thinking it may be water retention. Oh well, maybe I'll have a massive loss next week :/ I'll update tomorrow with my WI results >

I'm just doubly bummed because I was only 1lb off my 5% :(

Weighed in, and I've gained a half :(

I guess it's deserved, so I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing (minus the bbq binge!) and step up the exercise this week and hope for a really good loss next week.

Went to Salsacise and danced my ASS off!
 
Well done for keeping at it

1/2 will be gone next week along with some more, expecially with all that exercise you've got planned.

Oooh Salsacise, I like the idea of that. I had Angela Griffins dancemix workout DVD once, that had a salsa section, and I think I looked like a worm having a fit.... I could not wiggle right.... Must have burnt some calories though! haha.

That 1/2lb will soon come off with all this exercise, and without the BBQ binge, just you wait n see! Keep at it :) x

Salsacise is brilliant! I did dance (tap, ballet, jazz) for 10 years before I dislocated my knee, so I found it quite easy to pick up, but the moves are pretty simple at least in our class - it's such a great workout, I'm knackered by the end of it but you can choose the level of workout you get by adding arm movements etc., it's a real mixture of salsa and aerobics and I love the music we have in our class (Shakira, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez etc.) - it's great fun!

I also really LOVE yoga - I'm a bit neurotic, and yoga really helps calm my mind and it's the only time I ever really switch off!
 
my mum swears by yoga.. she cant go a week without it as shes same as you :)

salsacise sounds fab and glad you're enjoying it - well done on the 0.5 - considering you were 2.5 the day before, shows you that you can enjoy yourself and still control it relatively well - you've done the hard part and thats carry on with your head held high :) x

So, I've been 100% on plan, and until today, have had difficulty eating all my points. I'm reluctant to drink because it makes me retain water for DAYS. I have about 6 banked (mostly from APs) already, but found that cheese from M&S can come in tiny little snack size packets, so I bought a Wensleydale and Cranberry one, which is about 4 points, and I'm going to eat that gloriously on Saturday :D

In other news, I went to French Connection yesterday, and tried on a 14 for my boyfriend's birthday in a few weeks. I asked the assistant if they did refunds on sale items, and she said not really, so I was like "hm I may be slightly smaller in two weeks, I'm buying it for an event". She said "Did you try the smaller size?"

SMALLER SIZE??? I.E. A 12??? WHAT!?!? I've not bought a size 12 since I was 17. She returned with the smaller size and ... it was perfect.

I could have cried there and then hahaha!

In non-weight related news, I went on the sunbed today and now I look like a tomato. I should NOT have let the sunbed man talk me into 9 minutes :( I've moisturised myself in about half my Laura Mercier Creme Brulee and now smell like Willy Wonka's factory. I hope it goes brown by tomorrow so I don't have to go into work looking like a strawberry.

You are doing really well Mince. I am sl glad I found this forum and posts like yours. As a new starter as of yesterday I really appreciate reading about success and determination - and seeing how nice you all are!

Nikki - today I am unfortunately a lobster. Not quite a tomato anymore, but really feeling the pain! Ouch!!! I'm hoping I'll be "normal" by Monday because work today was SO uncomfortable.

I weighed myself this morning, and found myself 2lbs heavier, depsite being 100%. Then I looked up water retention causes on google and if you have bad sunburn (i'd say mine is moderate - no blistering so I wouldn't say severe although it is pretty horrific and I can barely move my arms >_<) you retain water when things are swollen. So I'll put that down to the burn! I just hope it's unswollen and I'm not retaining water by Tuesday :( Gaining this week whilst being 100% simply because of sunburns would really be rubbish >_< But on the positive note, I KNOW I'm slimmer, I can see it and my pants are looser every week! Chug chug chug water!

M&S Count on Us Pizza for tea. Yummy!
 
Huge well done on the size 12 I would be wearing that inside out so everyone could see the label. Not something I do atm :rolleyes:

Ouch on the lobster look hope things are better tomorrow. Stay away from the sunbeds peeps they are evil :soapbox:

Sigh, I weighed myself today and I'm still 2lbs up, and my back is still swollen so I must still be retaining water there. Although I'm only slightly pink now and generally not too sore.

I'm just feeling really sad that at my WI I'm going to have gained AGAIN, but this time I've been on 100% and have been really trying and the gain isn't of my own making as far as food is concerned. I just feel really frustrated. My boyfriend lives in Holland I'm going to see him for the first time in 8 weeks, a week on Friday, and I was really hoping to be 10st4 by then and noticably slimmer than the last time he saw me (when I was 10st 11) - which would have been more than possible with a 2lb loss every week, but with my 0.5lb gain last week (from bbq indulgence) and now 2lbs on from bloody SUNBURN i just want to cry because I'm trying really really hard, going to the gym 4+ times a week, and it's not getting me anywhere on the scales apart from upwards :(

What's more, my mum told me today (thanks for the notice -.-) that we're going to Pizza Hut tonight. I don't have any points banked, in fact I'm 2 in deficit and I can't get to the gym to earn APs because my back still hurts. Plus, I hate Pizza Hut when I'm on WW, I think their choices for people who are dieting are almost non-existant.

Sorry for the whine folks, I just feel really sad and frustrated because I got off to such a great start and feel I'm now stuck :(
 
Oh mince, so sorry you are feeling low.

I suppose the only advice I can offer is not to get too bogged down by what your scales are saying. As you have said you have followed plan 100% so if at weigh in you do show a gain it is not a true gain and will soon come off once your sunburn improves. When is your weigh in? Try and keep off your scales until then cos its not helping how you are feeling. Be proud that you have kept to plan 100%, celebrate that and however disheartening the scales are focus on the positive. Carry on being 100% and the weight will come off. You still have 7 weeks before seeing your boyfriend, time enough to lose 7lbs a hugh achievement.

With regards to pizza hut, have checked the eating out guide. The lowest pointed things are -
tomato & mozzerella mezzaluna - 5pts
arrabiata pasta -7pts
medium italian pizza between 3.5-5 per slice
medium pan pizza between 4.5-6 per slice

Not fabulous but decent enough not to spoil you day if you are careful for the remainder. If you really dont want to go, couldnt you explain to your mum?

My WI is on Tuesday so I'm starting to panic a bit about the swelling going down by then.

Thank you for the pizza hut info! I had a look at the mezzaluna on the pizza hut nutrition site and I think I'll have that, but I think the Eating Out guide is listing the points per ball because the Pizza Hut site has the portion down as 11points :/ Or maybe the arrabiata - but I'm guessing that value is just the plain pasta without the chicken which would make it about 10? Oh well, I'm sure I'll find something!

No I've not been measuring- maybe I should start - I'm rubbish at measuring the same spot every time though hahaha.

The above is why sneaky WIs are no good. You do know it is not accurate but are still letting it affect you.

Hopefully come actual WI all will be fine :)
