Alexmummy's learning journey...

Sounds like you're completely back on track and well done for resisting the sweets :) speak tomorrow - I'm off to bed! xx

night hun - hope you're feeling good in the morning.

Note to self...must try to sit up more slowly to prevent the dizzy spells straight away (unless of course little man catches me off guard)

Off to bed post Socceraid too -

Night all x

Hey Alexm,

Well done on resisting the temptations! the 9's will come...you can do it!

Have a great day

x

Hi Lelly - thank you. I'm slowly overcoming things - so fingers crossed it begins to pay off.

................................................................................................

Well today, weighed in and am 10 stone 10...that's ok, and I'm happy with that considering my week, and it's 6lbs down. I know Sat morning I was a tad less, but after what I eat I deserved to be up a little - just glad I managed to get straight back on yesterday, rather than messing up.

so 9lbs to go until back to BMI 25 and 'healthy', and then 8lbs after that to goal...hoping to lose 3-4 lbs this week, to get to 10.6, as that will be good progress and leave me just less than a stone then to goal :)

Have decided to stick to SS+ which I feel happy with. I know I still have real temptations to overcome, but knowing I have that small meal every day, leaves me a little less deprived, and I'm using the mixamousse as a pudding, and water flavouring for a 'lolly' in the day, which is definitely helping feel like I'm not missing out quite so much.

7 weeks 'til dress should arrive, and fitting in the boutique, and although I'm very nervous, I know that I have to keep that at top priority at the moment, in order to keep losing, and to feel good in it on the day. I can't quite believe 7 weeks will be the end of July, and the kids on Summer Hols already! By that point the wedding will be coming up soooo close. I really want to be done by then, I want to maintain comfortably over August and September, so have got to keep focused, and remember that SS+ isn't forever, and to not touch those sweets or anything else isn't forever, and I can (occasionally) have one or two once I've got down to goal and learning to maintain.

This has got very long so will leave it here, but thanks everyone for your support - it really does mean soooo much!

xXx

...struggling today AGAIN, have resisted so far, and trying to take the bull by the horns so to speak and sort myself out.
Watching a programme I recorded the beginning of last year to motivate me then (not that I needed much then), Claire Sweeneys Big Fat Diet - to remind myself exactly why I don't want to eat the rubbish that I keep wanting.

Hoping it might just spur something in my mind.
I so wish this was easy, it should be, this final part (and the remainder of the gained lbs from hol) is all to feel good in my dress, yet my head seems to want to sabotage all my attempts.

I even had to put fairy liquid over some jam teacakes earlier, as I just couldn't cope with them being in my fridge anymore - sad I know.

Off to watch the programme now, and keep hoping and trying to get through this!xx

Hi Hun ,

I caught up with your diary yesterday. You are doing really well. It's crazy the highs and lows on this diet but when we're slim and feeling fab at goal we won't remember those lows. Remember we can eat that stuff again but not worth it before our weddings.

Keep going. Hope u got through tonight ok in the end. Toothpaste and early night works for me.

Hugs x

Hey Hun, Hope your day ended well and here's wishing you an easier day today, hope the tv prog helped i'm sure the washing up liquid trick did...ha ha!!

have a fab day hun

xx

Thanks ladies - really do appreciate your words of wisdom!

I think the programme helped a little, Claire Sweeney gained just under 2 stone in 6 weeks not binge eating, but just having what she fancied, and the difference on her health was incredible! (awful)
Managed to get through last night, and DF has thrown the remainder of the sweets - pick n mix away now, so that temptation has gone.

Today I am feeling new, going to collect my food from CDC in a while, including bars which I think can conquer some of those chocolate cravings.

Paying £39 for this weeks food, I literally cannot afford to mess up!
I'm also tempted to speak to the boutique where I've ordered my dress from to go and try on now (as I've ordered the same size as the sample) to re-motivate myself for the next 7 weeks. I know if I work hard I really can achieve things - just gotta keep going.

Right, better be off, DF has an interview at 12 - praying he gets offered it, he's had almost 2 1/2 weeks off now since being redundant and I know how much he is trying - just need a break-through

Will catch up with everyone's diaries in a bit xx

Good luck to your hubby on the job front mine was out of work for 11 months and started back last week...feel like i've got my life back in order again, although it was nice having around i was in disarray! Hope you don't have to wait this long hun!

xx

Hi Lelly

Thanks for your well wishes - they must have gone far as DF had a call from the lady about 45 minutes ago to say he's through to 2nd interview - fab :) Really proud and pleased for him - just hope he gets it next week now - would be fab!

Food wise today, the demons have been there but not half as much as the last few days. Have also seen CDC today and got bars to keep me sane!

Avoided hot choc with marshmellows and cream, and also chicken nuggets and chips from soft play centre where I took little man, to share with his other little friend's birthday - very pleased with self for that.

Tonight, have had my tuna salad, and bar, so one more shake left - fancying a bath so will have it after that potentially, and possibly 1 more litre of water - or as close to as possible.

xx

Hey, well done on resisting those delicious sounding things! Congrats to your fiance on the second interview too. Know what you mean about seeing and trying on the dress helping with motivation.

It should be that this is the time when you feel most motivated, but I think sometimes it's even harder when we have an important goal. You're doing great so far resisting when you are struggling.

Morning hun,

Great news on huby's 2nd interview...keeping fingers crossed for you!

well done on avoiding stuff at play centre, hope the bars help out! it gets easier hun!

Have a great day!

xx

Hope you're doing okay today hun. xxx

Morning hun,

Hope all is well!

Have a great weekend!

xx

Hi hun,
Sorry so long since here, life got busy, family stuff and i am now also another mini's bride so caught up in that chaos too. (it does sort of take over doesn't it!) Your diary has a definate mantra theme running through it of THE DRESS....THE DRESS....THE DRESS!!!!! Defintaely inspiring. You seem to be doing so well. I'm in awe of anyone that can return to ss, i just couldn't do it. Lovely to catch up. Be back as soon as poss. When is the big day? xx

Oh Butterfly - my return to SS/+ has been short lived.

After a very not so great weekend again, I think putting myself through SS/+ or any really confined diet just isn't for me. I'm not a major fan of WW, only because it really lets me far too loose, so I am going to give SW a really good shot. The red plan, so more protein based than carbs, but none the less wider variety and I can have my fruit too.

Have started well today, but not going to make any massive promises or stress myself too much - but what I am doing is upping my exercise, as I know the inches are affecting me more than the scales right now (although who doesn't love the lbs to be off the scales too)

I'm still wanting to post on here as I would miss you all too much just to leave + you know my story from the beginning too.

Wedding is September, and I know the lbs won't come off half as quick, but when dress arrives, will evaluate how it looks, and possibly hope for final fittings/changes to be done much closer to the day.

Have started with bike riding, sit-ups and using my twist and tone this morning, and had weetabix, skimmed milk, and 1 banana.

About to have lunch soon.

(also potty training little man)

Will post on everyone else's diaries shortly. Feeling ok having a plan - just need to stick to it now...

So here's to the next few months and hopefully a happy/comfortable bride x

Hey :) I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how well the exercise works anyway. It will really tone you up. I agree that it's too much to think about with SS and SS+ so close to the wedding.
There is enough to stress out about and it was making you fed up. Be good to see you posting again - you can tell us about all the nice food you'll be having! :) xxx

Thanks Liz - I can't believe how close to the wedding we're getting, so need to keep 'something' on the straight and narrow, and yes SS/+ has been making me unhappy.

If I can follow SW to the letter then I'll feel I'm achieving, even if it's at a much slower rate.

x

Hi Claire,
Good luck on your new plan. If they're is one thing that always seems to work for me if i can get focused enough its counting cals. Being as i had no concept of portion control previously it really helps put things in perspective. Agree that the red plan would probably be better from SW,- less chance of returning to carb laden feasting!
As for leaving here, we may all disappear and pop back every few months, and hardly anyone is cd'ing anymore but it seems a shame to leave, when everyone has got to know everyone else (in part). Surely thats the whole point of support forums anyway! I'd forgot how nice it is.
The woman at the shop my dress was coming from said alterations can be done inside 2 weeks if needed. Hopefully yours can be the same to give you a bit more time? xx

Hey Alexm,

Good on you for choosing a plan that works for you hun, its all good!!

I'm enjoying my cal counting/excercise combo at the mo and not really bothered about lb's drop but want to feel better and it seems to be working better than lower plan, my head feels right now, can't really explain it but I think we know when our head feels right things work out much better all round.
Good luck with the potty training...i remember those days aww so sweet to see them on the potty, took ages for my boy to get into it but i think boys are much slower than girls on that front my dd wouldn't entertain the potty and jumped straight on the loo! much nicer i can tell you!

Hope you are having a great day hun!

xx
