Alexmummy's learning journey...

last night wasn't too great, a few too many choccies - but today I JOINED A GYM! ok...money isn't great and I probably shouldn't have (or know I shouldn't have) but it felt amazing to have that 'me' time, and really knowing I am doing myself the world of good :)
It's kitted out with a creche' for little man too, and dp can use on a weekend with day passes, and have been told I can basically have as many of those as I need.

Just got to make sure I use now :)
xx

Hi Claire, thrilled to hear about your victory. It really feels great when you take control over food doesn't it! At the end of the day, there may be times when we binge again, but every time we make a calculated choice, its a chance to relearn this new skill. I'm sure when we do it enough it will eventually become the norm.....! Hope you enjoy the gym hun!! xx

oooh I intend to hun :) Thank you for your lovely words. Food was much better yesterday, have a planned BBQ tomorrow, and think I am possibly kidding myself thinking I will be an angel and won't eat. Will avoid alcohol, and will try to limit myself to some food, and just not binge like I did at the last one about a month ago (the first MAJOR knock off of CD) I'm still at 10.10 on the scales, which after the choccies the other night I'm ok with, would love to be dropping lower into the 10's, but I know with impending BBQ, it's not likely to happen in the next 2 days I guess.

Must make good choices tomorrow - only 1 bun if any - and try to stick to protein and then fruit choices for dessert (seeing as it's us hosting it - just taking food to a friends house - I know what I can take lol)

Good choices Claire, Good choices...that's what will get you in your dress.

DF is happy that I have got joined the gym, and think we are all off swimming in a little while, won't be anywhere near adult swimming, but should be nice none the less :) xx

Hi you are doing great so far stay with it (Away from the choccies thou lol).!
Keeping fit is great too.
have a good weekend and keep smiling x

Ooooh Claire, we are freakily the same weight!! (ithink!) I cannot sleep for toffee, so been up for a bit, (i will regret this by 3am tonight when i feel like crap!). Popped on scales out of curiosity and its reading 10st 10.4lb!! I think as long as we stick to the lowest carb nibbles and lowest cals possible it should be ok. I ended up munching on a few nuts and a slice of low cal cheese this morning, but thats ok. Less than 150 cals and i didn't feel deprived. Above all, hope you have fun. xx

Hey Claire, how did the BBQ go? Reading your thread has made me inspired to exercise. Well, I'm thinking about it anyway!!! Hope you're having a good day.

OOOOO I went in to see and try on my dress today (well the boutiques one, but in my size) lovely lovely - it fits still, even with the few lbs gained - fab - just need to work on bingo'ey arms, and fat back lol (any exercise suggestions?)

Have loved the weather the last few days, just could do with cooler nights as my house seems to swell in heat at night upstairs. So much on at the moment, wedding plans, finances bits n pieces + must get back into assignment/course mode too.

Food today:

B: Choc Mint Shake
L: 1/2 Spag Bol (ate out with Bro and GF but shared with DS and left a lot)
D: Special K

SN: Apple + Snack a Jacks Sweet Chilli

Exercise: 21 mins cycling (precise I know - was listening to the end of a song) + 20 reps each side Twist and toner.

Hey Claire - sounds like you're doing fantastically - bet it was lovely seeing the dress again.

Good tip I heard for cooling the house down is to open the loft hatch so that the heat rises through to the top of the house away from the bedrooms. Not tried it yet, but will do tonight!

As for back fat and arms, I just use weights, but I'm a typical pear, so as soon as I lose any weight it comes off there. Any tips for thunder thighs, massive arse and big belly lol? xxx

thunder thighs here too...oh and bum and belly...but you can't see that in dress ! lol
i know swimming is a really good all-rounder, and as im recovering on my arm from my injury, arm weights are a difficult one a little bit, I either have to do really low weight, weights, or lots of lengths to use all of my body, which I don't mind.

xx

I have noticed a major reduction in back fat since doing Davina and Nell, and I've not always used the weights, or used very low ones. I'm pretty much the same weight now as when first tried on dress but general tone is much improved. Bingo wings marginally improved, but i think actually getting rid of those once you have them is nigh on impossible anyway.
Good on yo for all the excercise...... impressive.
Have a good day xx

Hey Hun,

Hope you enjoy the gym today! i've found the PT sessions really useful for getting back to it properly, he reckons my old cardio type routine was ok but without those weights I'd pretty much not get anywhere and it seems he's been right so far, not done any abs stuff yet though...need that the most!

Have a fab day!

x

Today has been a good day so far, have spoken to new work, and hopefully will get started on Monday, pending final reference being approved by the Matron. I can't wait to get started, it's been a long time coming.

Have also been sorting out a big financial decision/meeting, and hopefully in 8 weeks things just might get a little easier, but can only wait and see.

Spoken to old work as trying to still get old payslips and P60/P45 but what a nightmare they are!

Apart from that, did go to the gym, and did put little man into creche' and although it was hard leaving him as he really didn't want to stay on his own at first, I did, and after 5-10 mins he settled fine, so I had an hour to myself. About 40 mins work out, treadmill/cross trainer/stepper then went onto weights today, all upper body/arms as had done all leg/cardio on the other section, but did about 10kg on the weights and felt comfortable, but working the body, if that makes sense? Finished off with a quick go on the power plates before collecting little man.

Home and just been trying to sort the car insurance docs to send back and think I'm in another mess (noooooooo!) have only just read something on the policy that says my own no claims has to be within the last 2 years, and mine is out by 2 months, as I've been sharing car with my DF for the last 2 years...damn! Have a horrible feeling this is going to affect my policy and going to have to pay sharp increase :( not good...not at all :(

Right washing is all out, and my little man is asking me to go outside with him, so had better pop outside with him for half hour before DF gets home from work - just for my own peace of mind I know I switch between DP/DF, they are the same person lol. I just can't get used to DF, so sometimes use DP...wait 'til it's DH, that will get even more confusing.

Hope everyone has had a good day xXx

Just seems typical that you seem to get one problem on the route to recovery and something else crops up... Hope things settle down for you. Its typical when you really do not need any more financial pressures, like a wedding isn't headache enough!
Gym session sounds good, great idea to be able to take little man with you.
Good luck in the new job, what will you be doing?
xx

Hey Butterfly, I've just realised I am really rubbish at replying on your diary so will make a much better effort to do so! I'm sorry if it looks like I've missed you out, I don't get chance everyday to pop on everyone's but generally try to get on as many as possible and hadn't realised I hadn't been on yours as much as I should have! Anyway, public apology from moi :)

Thanks for your post too - it does seem to be one after the other at the moment which is always fun, trying to get lots of paperwork ready for Monday for financial bits n pieces.

PS. My new job is working in NHS on NICU ward. I'm so looking forward to it. xx

............................................................

Today I think is going to be another busy one

Quick tidy round the house, take little man to music class, after that to town, then MIL and aunt coming over, so off to park with paddling pool bit there (hoping weather will stay nice) back for dinner here, and TV tonight.

Must dash but will catch diaries a bit later.

Hoping to hear from job in a while to confirm start on Monday :) xx

Morning hun, Good luck with starting new job, hope you get the news want today!
Gym sounds fabulous, great to have the creche there too. ...10kg weights...wow...just building up to 5kg myself!

Have a great day!

xx

Having a mare of a weekend :(

I, for the first time ever, am struggling TO eat. I feel so sick and nauseas. It's been like it on and off for the past 2 weeks, and have been putting it down to the MMR injection as am def not pregnant, but this is awful. The smell of food is making me heave :( Today I have managed half a slice of toast cut into 4, and just about half roll at my nan's. I know I can't exercise on this amount, and it's getting me down. I've never suffered like this before.

Feel awful :(

Hey Alexm,

How are feeling now hun, sorry to hear you've been ill!

Hope you get better soon, take care
xx

Hey Claire hunnie, have been having a minor breakdown so not been around much and am just checking in now. I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly and wish I had been around a bit to say hello when you've been so supportive of me.

Hope your tummy is feeling a bit better now. Any improvement? You sound like you're doing amazingly well at the gym and being strong about leaving the little one. Great, great news on the job as well. When do you start? xxx
