I was tasty from what I was told. I can't eat anything like that. I avoid food network makes me hungery which isn't good LOL.

I finished this one on Sunday evening. I had it planned in my head how I wanted it to look and was worried I wouldn't be able to recreate it, but I'm very pleased with the result!

Very pretty cake, I know what you mean by knowing what you want it to look like, but I sometimes think I put myself under pressure because I can't get it just so! Lol

Heh its lush I tasted what was left on the paper here's what the smallest of the 3 looks like and is about 200 cal for a 6th of this cake lol.

Oooh I'm glad I found this thread, I run a home cake baking and decorating company. Been making cakes for the last 2 years although left work in Feb of this year to do it full time as I was getting so busy. Haven't been to college or any classes, I'm self taught, but was really good at art when I was at school and think that definitely helps when it comes to making figures and painting pics on the cakes.

I really look forward to seeing some of your designs Xx

They're really fab Do you do it just as a hobby? I have to admit I absolutely love doing the cakes, it's a real passion, but unfortunately has definitely contributed to my weight gain over the last year This is a few of my favourite cakes I've made this year

Just a hobby really. The monetary gain isn't good enough in my situation to stop being a at home mom/carer. If I had to work though I'm definitely going to apply to bakerys! I used to be so good about not eating cake but this last one had me picking at the trimmings. Back on the diet now no more picking!

Those are both fab! I'm still learning with fondant. I'm good with the art on top but sculpting a cake with a knife is where it falls apart (literally) for me. Lol

I've always wanted to learn to do this, but im a busy housewife/mommy with two young daughters i'd never get the time atm. I'm hoping i can squeeze it in and somehow start to learn soonish.
