I agree. Losses do tend to slow as you get closer to goal, particularly if you've been dieting for a long time. I'm two stones from goal, after losing nine stones, and losing is much harder than it was.
The body eventually adjusts to even a VLCD amount of energy intake. It doesn't know that you WANT to lose your stored fat; it thinks you are in the middle of a prolonged food shortage, or even a full-on famine! So it's trying to help you make the most of every calorie you eat or drink.
You go on losing, of course, 'cos you take in much less than you use up in day-to-day life.
As others rightly say - don't give up. It would be such a pity to let a wobbly time turn into defeat.
I moan and get fed up, but still start afresh each day, and hope for the best. The last pounds are always the most difficult to shift.
