B_44s food diary

Yay day off work! Not really got any plans tho

Extra easy today

Brunch: bacon and egg basket things, baked beans

Lunch/snacks: costa skinny latte with vanilla syrup (healthy a plus 3 syns), Special K chewy delight bar (healthy b) and carrot sticks, yoghurt if I'm hungry

Dinner: I'm at my parents for dinner and I think we are having sw tuna fish cakes with vegetables and potato slices

Extras: galaxy counters (9)

Syns: 12

I know what you mean about worrying about portion sizes - even though I'm really careful to have my 1/3rd superfree, I worry about whether I'm having a 'normal' amount, if that makes sense!

That salmon looks ver yummy btw! Yum & healthy :)

Hiya! Here to sub. My portion sizes are massive but I fool my brain with spinach lol. I have just started measuring pasta and couscous. I have 100g pasta shells m, 50g couscous or use the hole in the pasta spoon for spaghetti. Everything else is usually synned or free.

Meals look lovely btw :)

Ps those are dry weights.

Thanks guys. It's hard isnt it, I've always enjoyed big portions. I like the spinach idea, im gonna have to start doing that! I think no matter how much I lose ill always like having big portions, especially if pasta and any kind of carbs. Ill have to start measuring and bulking out a lot more with veg :) x

I always thought the idea with slimming world was there was no measuring...etc etc, surely if we start weighing stuff we might as well be on any old diet?
I'm looking forward to my huge plates of food :D

I guess if you're losing then there's no point in measuring. I just worry as I tend to lose weight very slowly whatever diet I try, & last time I tried SW I didn't really lose anything. I'm hoping it's just coz I got disheartened & gave up too early, but I find it so demotivating when I'm on a diet & not losing! I'm going to try really hard to stick to this for longer to give it a chance, as I think it's a great way of eating. But this why (in a very rambling way!) I'm slightly paranoid about my portion sizes!

X

It's hard to get a good balance isn't it. I suppose it's because usually when people are talking about dieting, losing weight etc people seem to think that you should eat rabbit food, never have any treats etc so it's hard to get out of that mindset isn't it. X

Afternoon snack (went for a Starbucks rather than costa, sorry costa! You're still nicer)

For the next 6-8 weeks, I'm going to be cooking for myself everyday. My partner has suspected Crohn's disease so is having to go on a shake only diet for 6 weeks and then slowly be introduced back on to food (poor him).

In a way it will be nice, hes fairly fussy with food so I can have lots of the things I like that he doesn't... But it also means I will have to do the washing up every single day lol.

Lots of preparation and organising is going to be needed I think, I've stocked up on easy things like pasta, baked beans, chickpea dhal etc so I should be ok. Lots of green days coming up I reckon!

I'm glad that I only have to think about cooking for me most of the time... OH is either at work or doesn't want anything cooked so I end up making whatever I fancy... Good job really as he's not fussed on rice, pasta etc :)

Thankyou, hes ok but he's really struggling and its only his 1st full day! I'd hate to have to do that, hes feeling so hungry at the moment and I keep forgetting not talk about food lol

Yeah I'm hoping it will be easier just thinking about my food. Although saying that I bet when he can eat normally again ill be so used to cooking for just me I won't want to cook for him too lol x

Dinner, salmon and stir fry. I'm still really hungry (even tho im not really i just think it) good job I've got syns and two healthy extras left!
