Ahh well THAT didn't go quite according to plan did it!!! I got up and got hubby to drop me off at the gym... and it was snided -not an empty machine to be seen *we think they were doing the lads fitness test* -so I got changed back into non gym clobber in the loo and went and put my bag in the car and declined hubbies offer of a lift to the supermarket... I walked there had a good ole poddle around that, picked up what I thought I had on my list *left list on table* AGAIN ...and poddled back. So all in all I was still walking from 8am-10:30am ..so I guess its something .... I got 8 packs of activia intensely :gimi:, my chorizo, the beef n pork for this weeks meal plan and best of all OX liver -I love liver but only the OX one.. I don't even like the "posh" calves stuff... there is only one supermarket that ever has OX as pig is the main meat here..so I grabbed 3 packs and somehow wedged them in the freezer. Ohh and I got plenty of chillies and some more fresh ginger... all in all the only thing I didn't get that was on my list was something they didn't have ...we still have to do the other shopping tonight mind thrppppp
Anyhooooo it means my meal plan was clangered.... so its now looking like this:-
banana -when I got home
apple
bowl home made veg soup
activia intensely (2.5)
apple
sticky lemon chicken n veg(4)
250ml semi (A)
1tsp camp (0.5)
fibre plus (B)
Now that only uses 1A+B and 7 syns..... so I might shove a jacket (B) with my "sticky chicken" and do hubby rice .... and I can always have another activia to use a few more syns..lets see how hungry I get rigth I will get off.... have a lovely afternoon all....
Ohhhhh god they are scrummy.... can you remember those little tins of cream you used to get, where you had to shake them to thicken before opening (Im giving my age away here )... well if you do -they remind me of that consistancy ..with fruit in mmmmm My faves are the zesty lemon (think lemon mousse/fool) and the peach one ... Im an addict ...
Well, we got the shopping done last night -so thats THAT out of the way for another week *hopefully* .... Anyway -yesterday my La Redoute order arrived ...although they had sent 3 items a size smaller than I ordered, so Im just waiting to hear back from them,,, I know I can keep them for slimming down into -but that doesn't give me them to wear now -when I need them does it!!! -anyhoo of the stuff that arrived in the right size -most of it fits and I actually tried on one outfit and "wit woo" I love it..here is the top -that is SOOOO not me.. but you know how sometimes you see something and think "ooh I like that" -well this was one of those items..and it looks great on -well I think so 2-in-1 Poncho - I put it on with a new pair of tailored trousers -(need to shift a few more lbs off the belly to make the best of them) ... but I tried them on with my heeled shoes and I loved it... I plan on getting some heeled boots to wear with it. Hubbies jaw dropped when I came down ... Now we just need to plan on going somewhere so I can wear them -Im thinking my Birthday ..ok its not until December -but thats the plan... everything will fit better by then too So thats another boost to keep me going So then -today is a green day and is looking like this:-
28g oats (B)
250ml semi (A)
banana
apple
12 speed soup
plums
activia zesty(2.5)
home made cheese n potato pie (A)
baked beans
frozen berries
activia intensely (2.5)
So thats 2A+1B and 5 syns ... I will decide what to do with the other B and some syns later.....
oooohhh the sticky lemon chicken was a hit -but I think it needs a "tweak" -here is the original... sticky lemon chicken serves 4 2 syns per serving -red/EE
1tbs honey 2.5
juice 1 lemon
250ml chicken stock-I used 1/2 a chicken oxo
1tbs soy sauce
4 chicken breasts -cut into chunks
1tbs cornflour 3.5
1tsp oil 2
2 carrots finely sliced
1 red pepper-cut into chunks
140g sugar snaps
mix 1-4 in a jug
toss the chicken in the cornflour to completely coat
heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan, then fry the chicken until it changes colour and starts to go crispy around the edges
add the carrots and peppers and fry for 1 min more
pour in the liquid, bring to a simmer
add the sugar snaps and bubble everything for 5 mins until the chicken is cooked through
Now I didn't use sugar snaps but I did add some broccoli toward the end -ooh and some spring onions at the same time as the peppers/carrot. For me I think it needed a little less lemon -but when I thought about it my lemon was a doozy ... so perhaps an average lemon would be right ... but the chicken was so tender and juicy..so it will be a "do again"
Im going to sit with yet somo more magazines this afternoon and pick out some more recipes to try -which of course I will share if they are good... Right Im off for now..have a lovely day all and keep at it!!!
Chicken sounds great, and a recipe with ingredients that most (read...I) have in the house! Will give it a try on my next red day.
Oh and Capricorn, I am really glad I have a laptop with a wide screen...because your signature is massive...
We have another chilly day here -tis seriously nippy ... still Im not going anywhere so I will survive Trixie... I have tried to get my signature to go narrower but it just won't have it When I get my next shiney I will have to remove my tickers to be allowed to add it ...
Well Im doing EE today - looks something like this:-
250ml semi (A)
activia intensely (2.5)
raspberries/cherries/strawberries/blueberries
2 egg omelette-with :-
onions
mushrooms
peppers
salad
apple
Spanish rice with chicken and chorizo (2.5)
peas/corn
activia intensely (2.5)
fibre plus (B)
So thats my A+B and 7.5syns accounted for...... I will post the recipe for the rice if its a yummy result.. it looks really quick n simple -lets hope its tasty... hubby should like it -rice/chorizo = happy hubby Right I will get off for now and make my cuppa .. have a lovely day all
Well the spanish rice with chorizo and chicken was a hit... well let me re-phrase that ...it would have been "stunning" if *someone* hadn't got heavy handed with the chillies ..... twas hothothot :flamingmad: .... I will post the recipe later as it will be much nicer next time -and is definitely on the "do again list" . In the end it only cost me 2syn as even though I halved the recipe there was loads..... so I only had about 1/3 ... Todays Red meal plan is looking like this:-
250ml semi (A)
apple
banana
12 speed soup
activia intensely (2.5)
raspberries/blueberries/strawberries/cherries
apple
balsamic braised beef casserole
nobbies
cauli
broccoli
activia intensely (2.5)
fibre plus bar (B)
apple
Righty-ho thats 1A+B and 5 syns used -so I will adjust later as I might need a syn or so to thicken the casserole, and I will use my other A+B depending on what I want/need Well yesterday I went through some more magazines *still loads more to go* and Im finding some really scrummy recipes :happy036:... the casserole tonight is a newbie -so pinkies crossed its a good one... we have someone here for dinner tonight so I will be suprised if there will be any leftovers ...even though Im doing 1kg of beef as this lady may be nice n slim-but boy can she pack it away :giggle: -guess its a compliment though!! right I had better get off for now...will catch up later..have a lovely day everyone
Just ignore me... Im just adjusting my meal plan as A) I realised that 12 speed soup is NOT red friendly,, so Im going EE

Sorry for being MIA yesterday -but hubby had booked Friday and monday off to make a long weekend..so we went out for a walk around the golf course and stopped off to look for a showerproof jacket and some hopefully waterproof shoes for the golf course...so by the time we got back and I had fed n watered us -I was pooped.... Anyhoo -I got a jacket -nothing fancy, just something to throw in my bag when I go to the gym in case it rains on the way home AND I got some shoes... in a 5.5 which meant I got them for €10 as they were in the junior section :giggle: .... ooohh and I got a couple of pairs of trousers for the gym too . I was a twit yesterday *nothing new I hear you say* I had a nana for brekkie and we didn't get back in until 3pm ... still I managed to ignore the gubbins in the naafi when I nipped in... ooohhh and the balsamic braised beef casserole was a super hit :happy036:and as predicted our visitor went back for 2nds ...and considered 3rds -In the end there was still enough left for me to plate hubby a dinner up to nuke when we got in yesterday

Thanks Prawnchopsuey... Im sure Im gonna have to falter at some point...I gave myself a good talking to when I first started... and got myself ready for the "stay the sames" and occasional gain... and by some miracle it hasn't happened YET ...but Im ready for it when it does
Well here are the recipes I promised.... I have "tweaked" them to fit SW ..... Spanish rice with chicken and chorizo serves 2 -although we found it to serve 3-4 preheat oven to 180c/fan160/gas 4
If serving 2 it comes to 2.5syns per serving on EE
2 large chicken breasts -cut into chunks
1 large red pepper -sliced
56g chorizo(5syns)-cut into small chunks
1 large onion -chopped
2 cloves garlic-grated/crushed
1.5tsp smoked paprika
1/2tsp dried chilli flakes
approx 600ml chicken stock
190g paella rice
frozen peas
lemon juice to serve
drop the chorizo into a warm nonstick frying pan and heat to release the oils
throw in the chicken chunks and cook until coloured
add the onions and peppers and cook until softened
add the paprika and chilli and cook for 1 minute
add the stock, bring to a simmer
throw in the rice and then transfer to an ovenproof dish/pan and bake for about 20mins -until the liquid is absorbed (add the peas after about 10mins)
cover with foil and leave to sit for 5mins
squeeze over the lemon juice and serve
And for those of us with a remoska (JJ ) -it works in there too :happy036:..... just tip it into the pan, cover with foil (so it doesn't touch the liquid) and switch on instead of baking in the oven
1syn per serving on RED/EE days -if using cornflour
1kg stewing/braising beef -cut into large chunks
125ml balsamic vinegar
150ml beef stock -I didn't need this but I did use 1 beef stock cube
2 cloves garlic - crushed/grated
1 onion -roughly chopped
2 carrots -chopped
3 sprigs thyme -I used 1tsp dried
mushrooms -cut in halves
1 bay leaf
1tbs of cornflour -mixed with a little cold water (optional) (3.5 syns)
Now I turned this into a slowcooker recipe ... so its simple -BUT you will have to figure your own cooking times as Im a whack it in and leave it all day gal
place the beef and balsamic vinegar in a bowl and leave in the fridge for 1hr
Remove the beef chunks and drop into the slow cooker and switch on (I use high -if you have the option) -DON'T ADD ANY LIQUID
after about 1hr I gave it a stir and threw in the carrots and onions -and the vinegar saved from earlier
after 1 hr add the bay leaf/rosemary/garlic/oxo
then I left for about another 2hrs
throw in the mushrooms and then just leave until everything is tender...
about 30mins from serving you can stir in the cornflour mix -OR use gravy granules to the same syn count
Now I hope that makes sense... give me a yell if not and if anyone wants it I can always add the oven method...
If im ever stuck for inspiration......this is the place to come all your meals sound lush, I just need to give myself a kick up the bum and start cooking a few of them now (and get OH to be a bit more adventurous....god he drives me nuts sometimes food wise lol) or maybe its my cooking mmmmm??? hee hee x x
