Beelishy's VLCD Weight Loss Adventure!!

Darling Minerva hit the jackpot there. Whether on packs or not life still goes on. I agree with you though re the shakes. Having them almost exclusively for 3 months last time I did VLCD really messed up with my head. I became I total recluse totally avoiding any situations that involve food.
This time round I'm making the diet work for me not the other way round. Having porridge for breakfast then a meal with veg, a bar and another meal or porridge makes it all a bit more 'normal'. I'm also not so paranoid about having something off plan (or not having it). For example I'm in head office tomorrow at a managers meeting all day and we will all be taken out for lunch. I plan to have it. I'll probably choose a salad and will stay away from carbs but that means I can just relax and stop stressing how on earth am I going to be able to mix up a shake in the restaurant while everyone is tucking into their lunch.
The very fact you're making healthy choices when out food shopping (I loooooove avocados!) tells me you're switching your habits permanently.
Keep being kind to yourself and remember we are all here for you!

Hope Tabby's meet and greet went well and MIL gets out of the hospital soon!
Hugs x

Ok. I just ordered my packs. A week to start as I still have some meals and a couple of oatmeals from the diet shack. So Ive ordered spag bol, chilli, oatmeal and bars. no soups. No shakes. Its supposed to come tomorrow, so we'll see. lol. I will probably start tomorrow as I have enough packs to get me through the full day, should my order not come for some reason. The salad and stuff, will just have to be used by the hubby. It'll be good for him. lol.

awww thanks honey!

yes you are right about the diet not taking over...and just kinda getting on with LIFE as well. Im going to have a proper go at it this way and see how i get on. I WANT to do it..so I just need to GO AHEAD AND DO IT. Stick to it...etc. And now Ive got no icky shakes or soups...I should be able to manage it fine!!

Hey Bee don't worry 'bout it! We've all had our struggles - I've changed my diary name so many times depending on which plan I'm 'supposed' to be following and I'm still where I was before Christmas - the key is that we ain't giving up, we'll just keep trying until we crack it in the end

The great thing about this site is we've all been there, most of us *are* there haha!! 'normal' people don't understand the struggles - especially if their bodies can cope with carbs and they think they're slim because they're not greedy - WRONG! knowing what I know now, that most people eat lots of carbs, and some people get fat doing that and some people don't makes me think F U to anyone who's ever said 'just eat less and exercise more har har har' My OH can have McDonalds, cake, choc, pizza and not gain a pound

We still love you :D just as you still love us through our ups and downs :D

We'll slowly chip away at this, maybe soon you'll keep bouncing back up to 260, then 257 and each time it'll seem like the end of the world but you'll slowly be getting there.

Hope Tabby liked her school

And poor MIL that poor lady :(

Morning

So today is Day 1. My delivery is due between 12:07 and 1:07 (of course, during the school run!! argh!) So ive asked them to deliver it to a neighbour. I hope it doesnt get messed up.

Ive had a coffee and some water. I will have my pancake in a little while.

Today's packs will be (provided my delivery comes)

oatmeal (made into pancake with an egg white)

Chilli

Spag (bol, if my packs come...spicy spag if not)

A bar (or another pancake or possibly a shake if my packs dont come)

I will have 2 coffees and my water and possibly some coke zero if hubby remembers to get it. lol.

Packs came and were delivered to a neighbour, as I requested. The hilarious thing is that the delivery guy was getting into his van as I came walking back from dropping Tabby off. I got home, grabbed the card and went to the door number it had listed. The lady that opened the door was another mother that had also JUST gotten home from dropping her little girl at the same nursery that Tabby goes to. HA!

Anyway. Ive had my chilli and cauli and my pancake. I just took one bite of the choc coconut bar - OMG YUM. Im saving the rest for later but WOW. Quite nice. a slight after taste, but not an unpleasant one. Just...if it wasnt for that it would be very much like a mounds bar. YUM! lol

So Tabby...wait...mounds bar. - bounty in the USA. lol. anyway... Tabby seems to like her school. She went in and didnt look back. Seemed fine when I left her. So we shall see. My only concern is that she wont ask for help with going to the loo if she needs it. She still needs that little bit of help getting her pants up and down...and wiping herself. Potty training. The WORST bit of parenting thus far. By a MILE. Hate. It. lol.

Anyway. I was so excited to actually be able to sit down and EAT FOOD for lunch today. Haha. I think that Tabby going to this school is going to have lots of other bonus good points. Such as...exercise. about 2 miles of walking a day. and it puts me (us) into a routine. I will be able to have my breakfast around 10-11 and then I can have my lunch when I get back...around 1. Im so full now, because I ATE something, rather than having a shake. So anyway. Im doing ok. been starving all day of course. But I will get there. Im ignoring it. And now Im stuffed so yay! Spag bol for dinner with broccoli. Doing ok with water too. YAY. I will have a coffee around 3 before I go get tabby at 3:15, if Im feeling like I want something.

This wind is awful and really needs to stop. Can we not just get some decent friggin weather. Like a nice run of it? Please?! UGH.

16 days til my youngest turns 1!!! OMG! (And yes, I will be having one small slice of her cake...and then I will get right back on plan. lol) And 25 days til my hols.

So, pancake for breakfast, chilli and cauli for lunch, spag bol and broccoli for dinner, 3 coffees (oops, i had an extra one. lol) and a bite of the choc coconut bar - the rest to be had in about half an hour. Ive had one glass short of 2 litres of water...will finish that in a bit as well. So far so good.

oh! and I had forgotten that i bought a packet of celery so I had a stick of that earlier. The crunch was incredibly satisfying! :D Glad ive got that now. i will have another one tomorrow. Haha ooo....living dangerously - "snacking" on celery!! :D

Roll on day 2.

Bar...yum!

Im actually really quite relieved to be back on this plan. lol. With food! Ive had hunger and head hunger and cravings and Ive just tried to ignore it. I WANT to stay on plan. I CHOSE to do this (again) and am pleased that I have.

Yay! Day 2 tomorrow. :D

B: Pancake.

L: Spicy spag and salad

D: Chilli and cauli

S: Bar ( I think i will try the praline)

Possible stick of celery :D hahaha.

Water, coffee, coke zero (if hubby remembers to bring it in - he didnt today! lol )

Morning! :)

Down 3lbs this morning. 261lbs. Water, yes...but its moving in a downward direction...so Day 2 - lets DO THIS. lol

Had my coffee and about to have some water and then feed Zoe her breakfast. Hubby didnt go to the hospital last night and said he isnt going tonight either.

I really have GOT to clean this house. Its so hard with the 2 girls. i may try to do a bit today when Tabs is at nursery. I could probably get the bathroom and dishes/bottles sorted in the that time. have I mentioned that i really hate HATE house work? Ugh. lol

How is everyone doing? Im going to go catch up with everyone now.

Have a fab day everyone! :D

had my pancake this morning...and ive just had my spag bol over my last little bag of salad....i added a cap full of apple balsamic and poured it around the salad first. not sure if thats considered off plan as it is sorta sweet...but i fancied trying it. YUM. It works so well. lol. And it was a tiny bit. anyway. i thoroughly enjoyed my spag on salad. it was incredibly tasty and satisfying and now im full.

oh and mid morning I also had 2 celery sticks. YUM lol.

Ive got the red apple ribena plus....its so yummy but it DOES have some calories so I probably wont get it again. Sadly, no one but me will drink it and it was expensive so im having it til its gone. lol. its probably going to delay me going into ketosis so i may just leave it for a while. it will keep for a good couple of weeks more.

its not terribly warm but its bright and clear and dry and the wind is much less than it has been. i just re-read that sentence and youd think English was my 2nd language :p haha. or my 3rd! haha. eesh!

anyway....hope everyone is getting on well. :D

OH MY LORD!!! hahhah I just had such a massive brain fart!!

I was looking at the avatar - thinking... that's an interesting looking lady with funny/cute glasses... must be a new poster on this thread... not seen her before... .. then I started reading the post ... thinking... why is this new person writing all this stuff as if it's her diary... that's really weird.....

*pause* ... look at user name... look at picture... user name again ... *click* .. facepalm !!

BTW the Red Apple Ribena is deliiciiooouussss!! It does have calories, but if you dilute it to specifications, it's similar (plus like 5 calories per 250lm) to the water flavour powders SnS themselves provide, so have it as a special treat perhaps. :D

hahah. yeah. i changed my avatar! Not my most flattering pic but we saw those glasses at primark last weekend and i had to try them on. lol.

yes, the red apple ribena is so so delish. and id forgotten about the water flavourings they sell! i feel better about it now. i under-dilute it (is that even the right term? doubt it - i mean use more water)...because i like it a little weak...so im not going to stress about it at all now! lol yum yum!

i have less than an hour til dinner and i dont feel like i will perish if i dont eat sooner. lol im really enjoying having more meal packs and no shakes or soups. very nice! why didnt i think of this sooner? duh, me. haha. oy vey.

and just because I havent said it in a while... i really appreciate you guys. the patience, support and care that you show is invaluable! xxxx Thank you :thankyou:

You look a lot younger than I thought! :D Really cute too. Maybe one day you'll show us your lovely face in full :D

You over-dilute by the way if you put more water in. :D But I know what you mean, i like a HINT of flavour in it, rather than chewing on it. There's a really nice double strength apple flavour that Tesco do; but it has citric acid in it... I'm obsessed with apples... Om-nom.
