Bev's Refeed Diary

The soya and linseed does look very good! Hoping I can get one with a better date on than last week's!

No Tanya - bread that just says 'brown' is no better than white. It MUST say wholemeal or wholegrain and the darker in colour it looks the better also if you like 'bits' the more it has in it the better too. xx

omg!! Why didnt i know that?!!!! lol so im looking for a nice wholemeal loaf - the darker the better ;) thanks Jan - Life saver!! x

Ditto Mary Yas. It may be higher in calories but it will keep you fuller for longer .... this is one of the reasons I don't want to get hung up on calories if I can help it. Least calories doesn't always equal healthiest/best choice.
It's 'ard 'inni'!!! xx

Day 5

Chocolate Shake

Salmon and salad

Spaghetti and scrambled egg (I know it sounds horrible but I really like it)

Chocolate Whip

Loved the chocolate whip, it tasted like a healthy angel delight! I also forgot to write it but I had a maintenance bar the day before and thought that was lovely. Filling too. First sweet thing I've had in nearly 25 weeks so you can imagine how lovely I thought it was. Will be going to the chemist later to get a few more maintenance products. I had these after my tea cos I thought if I was fuller than I used to be I wouldn't want to nibble anything else later on and I didn't. They really did fill me up and didn't want anything else. My chemists told me that those products are extra to your meals for the filling up reasons. Enjoying refeeding a lot and the tastes are great. Must try to keep up this eating lots of salad cos they taste so good.

Sounds like you have got it sussed Bev, thats the key, fill yourself up to avoid snacking just because we are allowed snacks. Well done.

Thanks Mary. Like I said I don't want to get back into snacking even healthy things too much cos I know I will slip back into my old ways. So don't want to do that.

Day 6

Chocolate Shake

Sliced turkey sandwich and salad

Salmon with chilli and potato salad and lettuce leaves

Choc Whip

Really enjoyed my salmon again. Absolutely gorgeous. Will be getting some more this weekend and some other sorts of fish too. Love my fish. Can't believe I've almost done my first week of refeed. It's gone quickly and really well. Really enjoying eating again.

Good that you are enjoying eating again Bev, me too now :) I had salmon aswell today it was lush!! How long do you bake yours for? xx

Bake it for about 20 mins I think. I like it well done though, mind you, I like most things really well cooked. I know some people think that's terrible but that's what I like. I really look forward to my lunch tomorrow cos it's the lovely cold salmon. Why didn't I eat these sorts of meals before? I must have been mad. For the first time I am not looking forward to my weigh in though, cos I feel as though I am heavier but I suppose everybody does on their first week of refeed.

Bev i am feeling the same - glad im not the only one! Although we have both stuck to it to the letter so surely we will be ok!

Know what ya mean about food being well done - im not too keen on raw meats or fish - although i am guna give sushi a whirl soon! lol xx

Yes you're right there! I think we can't quite believe we can eat all this 'stuff' after so long with only a few drinks a day, and not gain weight!!

You'll be fine I'm sure. Expect to sts - then any loss is a bonus. It's my belief if we sts we've refed properly. I could be wrong but I do believe if you lose the first week on refeed you probabaly haven't had the carbs etc you were supposed to. Which is fine - my only worry would be that when those things ARE introduced it might not be in such a controlled way and therefore could become an issue. But that's just my thinking - nothing official!! xx

Bev, food looking great well done you

Id say you got this nailed

The fish counter is the first place I head for now when I go to the supermarket, I love to pick up the bargains. I find Tesco and Asda great for fish towards the end of the evening, sometimes you get it for less than half price. My top freezer drawer is my fishy drawer now.....lol.

I also tried sushi for the first time this week, I really enjoyed it, but I never would have touched it pre-TFR. The only comment I will make about the sushi is the rice, I could have been doing with less rice and more fish. But I am not really into rice/pasta as carbs as I always seem to bloat and remain heavy for a day or two after eating these, but with potatoes and bread I am fine, also fine with all my carbs in my home made soups.

I might give sushi a go too. It always looks so pretty as well.

Jan, if I stay the same this week I will be so pleased. I don't really want to lose anymore weight now. I'm quite happy as I am. Here's hoping!

Thanks Adam. I still think about food in the wrong way sometimes though. I still think "if I just had that it wouldn't be too bad would it" but obviously I can't think like that. I don't want to go back to what I did before so these 2 weeks of refeed are so important. Glad I've broken most of my bad habits though. Just got to stay strong and stick to the plan!

I'm the same with those carbs Mary. Rice, pasta and potatos used to really bloat me up and make me feel heavy for a few days too. Trying to steer clear a little and just take it easy with them.

Exactly like me Bev, but I do love those carbs, but its got to me moderation for me all the way with those now.

When I did SW I always had red days cos on the green ones you are allowed limitless carbs and the week I had some green days I put on weight! They just don't agree with some people do they? Don't get me wrong, I love rice and pasta dishes but it's all got to be in moderation for me too.

I must be able to have the carbs on their own, because on SW I still lost on the green days, but they are not mixed with the proteins then, its all about the foods that fight. Easier just to steer clear of them lol.
