heeheeeee i'd love to be your editor if you'll employ me, i sort out your typos in no time:p the number of essays i've read through for my friends lol... it's a bit ridiculous.

anyone know where i can get an ice lolly mould from?
xxx

ooh i'll pop to wilkos. although, that's out of my way. tescos it is. x

why, who doesn't have wilkos? woooo weekend starts in an hour and a half x

i thought you worked so many hours so you could work only 4 days a week, why does that involve weekends? xx

you can get moulds all over. Ebay, tesco's, asda, just look in the kiddie type section. I have loads for LU, plus I have some for freezing bananas too, and ice cube moulds as well...I use those when I make my chocolates and candies at easter, halloween and christmas.

Abz...I have been looking into getting into law. I have/am applying to become a magistrate in my area, and I am hoping that this will give me a head up in understanding the criminal system and how this country works. In addition, I hope to encourage greater care of the community, as well as making our town a better place to live. To be honest I really wanted to get a degree in forensics, however, the nearest college/uni for that is in cambridge and that is just too far to drive back and to daily, plus the studying, project etc , and family. So, I think at the minute I am going to have to go back to college and do a foundation year ( again) as the last time I did one was in 2001-2002. And as it is 2008, it is (kinda) out of date. I have tried in several times to go to school but something always happens. I did my foundation course, then I didn't get accepted into my field as there were only 60 places at UEA for the course for the whole country. Even though I was second in my class I didn't get it. So then I helpped my OH build his company which went well. And by the time I stopped working (June 2004) I thought I would go back to school again and get a psychology degree (forensics still too far away and psyc- was and is an interest) But then I found out on the day of register that I was PG. I did continue to go as I thought I would be ok. But with the hour drive back and forth PG after waiting 8 years to become PG, OH was worried about accidents and the strain...so I stopped going. Then I tried again when LU was 6 months to go through ICS for my psychology degree again. But they were an awful company, and didn't live up to their hype, or their contract. In the end I had to quit because they weren't supporting me properly, even giving me marks for papers I hadn't even turned in, or giving me 2 different marks on the same papers etc...taking 1 week to answer questions. One of my best mates ( the london/spain chick) is a barrister. And she went to the UEA, which is where I hope to go. I have always wanted to study law, but was never sure I was capable. I know I am organised, studious, methodical, and love to learn, so I am sure I can do this. It is just a matter of having to do my foundation course, to get back into the swing of things, and then do my best to get accepted. And whilst I know being a magistrate will take up some time, I only need to serve 18 half days a year. I am sure I can manage. And if it turns out I don't care for it...I can always just become a solicitor rather than being pursue a district judges job.

Phhhheewww...thought I would never get that done...hahaha....bet you wished you never asked eh? You know me....never a simple answer when a long paragragh will do!! hehehe

corr blimey. in my experience jenn, you've really got to be into law to practise it, otherwise you'll just end up another bored employee in a job they hate. i did law at uni and hated it. thankfully i took it with history, cos i went to keele and you do dual honours there, so i was able to change my degree around and instead of ending up with llb in law i came out with a BA in history with law. i wish i'd changed in second year to something like history and media comms. thinking about it, i had a friend there who was studying either psychology and forensics or criminology and forensics, i've forgotten which. it's ashame Norwich is so far from there... my friend Shue is from your neck of the woods and it was a 4 hr drive home. she did law, did her CPE in london last year and has just started her job as a trainee solicitor in Ipswich. (incase you were wondering). haha x

oh, p.s. lol, didn't want to depress you. GOOD LUCK in whatever you want to do, i'm sure you'll do excellently :D xxx

elle,

I understand believe me. I do want to do it, however, I still need to do a foundation course no matter what I choose to do. So whilst I am doing that, and hopefully being a magistrate, I'll be able to make the decision later when I know for certain. When my mate was going, I used to to edit her papers.( hahah-but I am must better at that then on the comp when I am just gabbing of course) At the minute the only foundation (access) course is science so I think I am going to have to do that. It really isn't about the work. I am lucky that we make enough money that it isn't an issue. My company can pretty much run itself and require's a minimal amount of attention, LU will be in school soon, and I find that, whilst I have gone and helpped everyone else, I never finished achieving the goals I want for myself. Plus, it never hurts to have a back up incase something unexpected happens. I want to also show my son, that it doesn't matter how old you are...you're never to old to learn. I will be looking long and hard into what I choose. And who knows...I may change my mind again, but the foundation course is a must no matter what I choose. I have always been a science freak!! Which was why I have always leaned towards that direction, but I thought that maybe with the whole magistrate thing, it may lead me elsewhere, in my desire to achieve. So..bottom line...I have to do this course. And just go from there. But thanks for the warning.

ooh jenn it sounds really exciting :D law isn't my cup of tea. forensics sounds interesting. my main boss was a forensic scientist, did it for a couple of years and decided to get into IT instead. he learned from trainee position and doens't have any official qualifications in IT that i know of, although he may have some that i don't i know he doesn't have a degree, and he is amazing at it!!

Wow Jenster, i never knew you was interested in Law! You go girl! lol. I could never do Law, i enjoy bending them to much hehe.

Don't worry about the foundation studies, i did it to get into University this time, and i will be doing it again to get into Medical School. I would have sank a year ago if i hadnt done it i think. It was 5 years since i had last studied, so the top up was well worth it.

I have a friend over here in Wigan, she is 31, has 2 kids, and has just started Medical School (just finished her 1st year) She did the access course, which is similar to the foundation entry we will be doing. But she said they are great, aslong as you realise your in a competition to win places in Schools (Even more so with Medicine) But aslong as you keep your head down and work as hard as you can. It all pays off.

I would take a look at your local Colleges/High schools aswell. They always do the Access and Foundation courses, well they do up this end of sunny england!

And Smelly, i also wish i had woken up earlier, i could have gone right into medical school, instead of spending 4 extra years on a different course. But slightly glad i did, i would never had made my friends, or be learning to be Fluent in BSL! lol.

I am sure some famous dead person wrote something around the lines of all our experiences are what make us who we actually are. Who knows what would have been different if we had changed a small thing!

I have just finished hoovering, sweeping, mopping, putting shopping away, doing all mine and dads laundry and washing the dishes while dancing like a freak to the Box on Sky+. Who knew cleaning could be so fun and work up such a sweat! lol

oh, i forgot to tell you tyn. i've just been offered a place in a level 2 bsl class. it depends on when they do it and how much it's going to cost me as to whether i can do it or not but i'd love to. i loved doing level 1 :D

abz xx

lol sounds like fun tyn! my sis is going to do an access course, she started one last year but couldnt finish it. she has crohns disease and is going through a bad patch atm but when she's better she's going to finish the access course as she didnt manage to do alevels, and go to uni to do history or archaeology probably :) x

that sounds TOO COOL abz! i would love to know sign language. x

arrrr i feel bad, my nan just rang and told me to go to hers to eat tonight. my boss is on the phone so i was trying to be quiet. i told her i couldnt so she said tomorrow. so i explained that my friend's coming to stay, and she's staying till thurs. and she went a bit crazy at me that i'm letting her stay at mine while im at work. and i was like, what??!! she lived with me at uni!! (while still trying to keep it down) and she kept going (because she doesnt listen she just keeps talking) so i said nan, enough. twice. and then we said goodbye and put the phone down. i feel reeeeally bad, i'm never normally mean to my nan. i view it as disrespectful! i know she's bitchinat my grandad now and she'll probably tell my mum. grrr.

I start level two this september, i can't wait! lol. To actually have a conversation thats more than basic! Wohoo lol. You should do it Abz!!!

One of my best mates who i live with does Archeology or however its spelt, she said the first year was sooo boooooring lol. But she is looking forward to this year, as she gets to take the Forensic Moduels she has been waiting for. She wants to do that when she grows up. I say she is pretty weird, but meh lol.

I wish my uni did Ancient History, i would have loved to study that. But they only have the crap on the recent wars. Which is so blah! lol
