Big Boys Need Love Too!

Remember to chop it really fine Bon. enjoy ;)

I usually put root ginger in but didn't have any - just eaten the curry, it was yummy - might do that again as a snacky meal. No point doing it for a main meal as OH doesn't eat fish. Mostly I do veggie curries with chick peas ect - that's jummy too x

Glad you enjoyed your curry :) I am settling for a jacket potato for lunch since I am at work :(

Oh yeah, I've just got into chick peas, I like them on salads and with quorn mince, I like how they bulk things out. They would be nice in a curry too, good thinking, thanks!

I'm having jacket potato tonight with cottage cheese and salad. Chick pea curry is lovely. I use a lot of pulses in my cooking - and nuts. I very rarely eat meat so these are my proteins x

Ah, I am a vegetarian, but I tend to use a lot of meat substitutes like Quorn fillets and mince and chicken and things... I am not confident enough to use things like beans and pulses :S although i wish i was!

Just play - I do things like veggies with tomatoes and cashew (or pine or walnuts) with pasta, nut cutlets, nut roasts, chick pea curry, mixed bean chilli. Make them the same, just without the meat. I always spice or herb things up. I often add the ginger at the onion and garlic stage with the pasta thing and squeeze lime juice into the mix at the tin of tomato stage. Just experiment away and enjoy x

Have a look at my week of food photos in my profile Bon - there's a couple of recipes there x

Wow Gemstone! I wanna come round to yours for tea!!

I love the stuffed butternut squash receipe, I think i'll try that one evening. And nuts in pasta... hadnt thought of that, i eat a lot of pasta, so wanna try that too!

I'll let you know how i get on! Thanks again for the ideas :D

have you ever made lentil curry or used lentils as a bulker bon? adam's mum used to do that all the time. they are cheap and yummy if you use nice herbs and spices. i'd never really liked lentils until she put them in curries and stews and things. loads of different veg and then lentils instead of the mince or quorn or whatever... not sure how you cook them though. i remember soaking them and then i think she just bunged them in... any help would be handy from you others? hee.

am at work and on my lunch break :)

didn't know how to do something and didn't want to ask because i'd look a food in front of the boss who happens to be sitting behind me today. but in the end i just asked him and it turned out i wouldn't have known in any case and he showed me. so now i do if it comes to it, ha.

I've never curried Lentils, But *SHE* makes a great lentil and bacon casserole. Yummy.

Ah no i've not used lentils before, i think the soaking part has always put me off :S I do like the idea of them though, I think they are yummy. Perhaps you can get ones you don't need to soak.. in a tin or something... hummm.

I am still loving this idea of chick pea curry :D i am so doing that one evening soon.

Ah am glad you know what you are doing for work tonight then, it can't be fun having the boss sitting behind you :S I sit in front of the bosses desk which is a right pain, but now she has put these screens up for when she has meetings, so it's much better, I was so paranoid before when she could see me, ha.

Have you had another tomatoe? are you having a hungry day or are you doing ok?

i am absolutely bloody starving. ha. and i have realised that even after dinner i will have 12 points left for the day... i have an apple which is a half. and some carrot cake, but even if i eat all of that that's only 4.5... so i think i'm probably going to have quite a few left today.

have had 3 tomatoes throughout today now :)

dinner is going to be at six again...

oh. also have a nutrigrain bar so could use that to stack up a few points. you aren't supposed to save more than four a day...

well i've eaten a huge sandwich for lunch at one, a piece of carrot cake, three tomatoes and an apple since then. and two cups of tea. surely i should be able to get from lunch to dinner on that!!

Someone told me once that fridge pickers wear bigger knickers. It must be true cos I was one and you should see mine!!!!!!
