Baby Eva Rosanna Buckle, born 28th March 2014 at 12.41pm
My birth story, thankfully a nice simple one, well we went to see the consultant on the 19th of march and together we made the decision that baby would be born via elective C Section on the following Friday!
So went in on Friday 28th March at 7.30am there was 2 other women there, we were told it would be done in order of complexity, at 9am after a chat with the surgeon that ours would last on the list, Cue a stroppy Emma because I so wanted to meet my baby as soon as possible and I was starving!! Anyway they finally came to me around 11.30 and took me through, took ages to find a vein to shove the cannula in, and then it was the spinal block, which wasn't as bad I thought, all the way through this I'm crying my eyes out knowing that it won't be long now and telling anyone who would listen my TTCing story they quickly lay me down and then starting asking if I could feel anything, nope nothing, no pain the spinal just made me feel a bit sick, so I had lots and lots of anti sickness meds, which is good because it completely took my mind of things, the lady doing the anaesthetic was talking to me and Pete and then do you realise they've started? We didn't have a clue lol a few minutes later we heard she's got loads of hair and then Pete popped his head round the blue screen and looked into the inside of my belly and caught the first glimpse of baby, I then told him off for looking lol, the anaesthetist then said your about to feel a push and a shove and then you'll have a baby (the best words ever!) and then the room filled with the sound of my baby crying and I looked above Pete's head and there's a baby all star fished crying as they showed her to me, for the first time, I told Pete to with her and not leave her side, as Pete walked with the nurse she told him not to look to the left as would see the inside of me again, he had to look at the chest burster scene to his left!
1 minute old baby
They bought the scales next to me so they could weigh her, I think we were all a little shocked to her 3.4 kgs (7.8lbs) as we were expecting a chunk!!
Our first moment together
While they stitched me up they left Pete on his own with bubba in the waiting area
I looked at the clock and it was 13.13.13 on the wall so between baby being born and me being stitched it was a matter of minutes really!
And that ladies is all, a nice simple C Section story, recovery was really quick from spinal and other than feeling a bit tender (if I remember to take my painkillers regularly!) I'm feeling pretty good!
