Blue is my favourite colour..... Lexies journey

You poor thing. I really hope you managed to get a doctors appointment, as these things can get worse really quickly. I don't know anything about employment rules etc but can the doctor not sign you off. You can't help being ill! X

Get well soon hun, work sounds a bit harsh in relation to sickness but you must put yourself first x

Our sickness policy is really tough & a sick note will not make any difference. My union rep says I'm to report it as my ears as I have an ongoing condition with them & they are very sore they won't be able to touch me but I've already spoken to my boss & told her its not just my ears!!!!!

Gosh I really hope you got to the doctor this morning! That sounds really awful. I hope your work will be understanding about you being sick!

Thanks girls, Dr said ears & throat & chest affected by virus & I need fluids & rest for 72 hours! Paracetamol & ibuprofen 2 hourly..... Temp won't seem to regulate at the mo which is frustrating me, I need a nap so might go to bed for a bit

Hope you can get some rest!! And feel better soon :)

Oh & then at 2pm school rang to say my son wasn't well, luckily hubby was working from home so he went & picked him up & he puked more or less as soon as he was through the door!!!! No rest for me ggggrrrrrr

Oh now that is really hard!!! It doesn't just rain it pours :( I hope your hubby is the helpful type :) sending virtual hugs!

He is but it's his 40th bday tomorrow & he'd taken leave so that he could have a nice relaxing day!!!!! Little man is fast asleep again on the sofa which is just not like him at all.....

Hope things are a bit better today? How's your son doing??

Hmmm feel like a right miserable cow & sorry to bring the mood down but I'm all about honesty! Truth is things are rubbish, little one has a raging temp & isn't eating, he's had a banana & an apple. He asked for pizza so daddy fetched one from sainsburys but 3 bites & he didn't want it. He is drinking loads though which is good. I've only eaten a banana today up to now, my chest is really painful & when I cough I feel like an elephant is doing star jumps on it. Hubby's birthday is a complete wash out, he's been to the gym, the supermarket (to buy his own cake!!!) & is now cleaning the rabbits put before visiting his parents..... Dreading him going back to work tomorrow cos it's gonna be harder - I have seriously huge respect & admiration for single parents!!!!!!

That's really crap! You and your son being sick at the same time! And on your hubby's birthday! I am assuming you took your son to doc??

I had that virus with temp, headache, tight chest and doc gave me antibiotics in the end as I was getting so bad! I completely understand about the elephant on the chest - that was the scariest part!!

Soup is the way to go.. I could not swallow nothing and OH got me soup from the chinese - all I can say it was hot and wet! Couldn't taste nothing :) but made my throat feel bit better - Vicks on chest and back a good inch thick lol really helped :)

Hope you and your son get well soon!

Docs said all I can do is keep him hydrated & although he's sleepy & not eating he isn't crying or complaining or anything..... I'm thinking I'm highly unlikely to be back at work Thursday cos even if I'm better I can't see little one being so I'll need to stay with him...... Totm this week too - God damn you Mother Nature......

Got completely fed up of how I felt so went to put of hours doc & was a bit embarrassing as was same Dr I saw at our surgery yesterday, so I've left with antibiotics as he says I'm clearly poorlier than I was yesterday & he thinks it is now maybe a bacterial infection. Feel calmer already as I know it's not gonna take hold & become pneumonia like it did 3 years ago....

That's good news! I'm sure you will feel better much sooner with the antibiotics, and better able to cope with your sick son.
