Blue is my favourite colour..... Lexies journey

Thanks ladies I'll be happier when I'm back down to my lowest although it was a lot closer today 1.2lb to go!

Been chatting to both my mum & best friend about my goal weight & I'm thinking I may stop sooner than I thought at 11st 7lb as I need this to be maintainable. That was my original goal I changed it earlier this year to 11st. When I first started I said I wanted to be a size 16 & then I'd be happy & I am now a 16 in a lot of places so in another stone at 11 7 I will be just about anywhere. Sorry I'm just kinda waffling to myself! Will see how I feel & look at 11 7 I guess.....

Hun I am so pleased for you and very jealous but not in a bad way, I feel like I am going to be stuck at 13st 12 forever ... Anyway back to you, look at where you have come its amazing and so inspirational I know that if it wasn't for you ladies here I wouldn't be stuck at this weight I would be giving up and piling it back on, so it's not just what you have done for yourself but its what you do for others, I really hope you realise how much support you give every single one of us, you are a very special person x x x

Aw ladies thank you that means a lot & I say all the time I'd not have done it without you all & 2 people in particular who I drive mad several times a day hey Kat & Kirsty!

The lady who does my chocoholics party called tonight & was talking to me then said "sorry I'm staring but oh my God where did you disappear to?" told her about xen & she said she tried it but kept tangoing so I told her that meant she wasn't doing it right lol

Thanks everyone!

So all change! Dr Briffa's seminar made a lot of sense & to be fair its what my mum has been telling me for a long long time, good healthy fats is the way forward. He basically said when I asked my question about body fat that although I have lost a lot of weight I have lost muscle not fat so I need to eat like a caveman to get the results I want, high protein, good fats & lots of veg, try & lay off the carb (as in bread, pasta, rice etc) so lets see how it goes, I am quite excited, after a year on the xen way(ish) of eating something new is exciting.... I am staying put on this board though, I need my "friends" Onwards & downwards x

Welcome aboard!! I read his book escape the diet trap at the beginning of the year. Which is why I eat nuts as snacks now.. And I try not to eat rice, or pasta.. and only have sweet potatoes once or twice a week, and try to avoid potatoes and bread.

It started me thinking about loads of stuff, recently I've just read "wheat Belly" interesting reading :)

It's very much like 'nutritionists' tell you to eat. Well the ones who are trained by Patrick Holfied in the optimum nutrition GI way. Although what you said on a different post Lexie about losing muscle not fat is the same as one if the fat2fit radio podcasts talk about as well

Well I shifted the London gain & weighed in at 12st 5lbs this morning which considering on Monday I was 12st 10lbs I am thrilled with! So officially a 1.6lb loss from last Friday. Still not sure what to do re target, if I go to 11st 7lbs rather than 11st I am only 12lbs away from it which is what is tempting me lol! Anyway am expecting losses to change now cos of this high protein good fats thing, will see what happens... As long as I get there by Conals birthday in March I will be happy

Well done!

Good luck today, have you increased your cals in MFP to a higher level like 1800 just so you have some space to experiment :)

No I haven't but it's gonna be trial & error like cheese can I have cheese, was planning on parsnip & cheddar soup for lunch. Was gonna have with ryvita, it says they're medium so better than bread......

And Rachel I wonder if some of the gain was totm as I have had a pretty nasty one this time so may have been retaining from that. I also put a lot of effort in at Zumba & gym & had 1200 cal days but I'm VERY happy

I do have cheeses but only like 30g or less at a time .. I also like apetina light feta mainly due to the texture of it, it's more firm less crumbly

Not every day - but up to you and how your body reacts to eating it., trial and error till you figure it out.,

I have cheese in omelettes, on chilli con carne, spag Bol sauce ( no spag lol) etc but only 30g

I use grated dried Parmesan on loads of stuff, plus in bread crumb mix, meat ball mix etc .,

Thanks I googled & it said l/f was ok & it works out at 20g per bowl of soup so should be fine although silly me parsnips aren't good but I don't think John is all about GI & I'm sure I'll be forgiven lol!

Massive excitement in my house today, 14 years ago I had a pair of size 16 velvet jeans from Next I used to wear (yes they were trendy then!) & they have been hanging on the back of my door as ultimate goal, well bugger me they fit!!!! I won't wear them but I wanted them to fit & they do so now I want them to be too big! I also bought a pair of jeans in the charity shop today M&S 16s which fit so I'm starting to think I really am a 16 now.....

Wow that's amazing.. I like those style of velvet jeans lol
