Fruits; apples, peaches, pears, plums, citrus fruit in moderation - which means to me every other day?? sometimes i have 1/2 a peach or 1/4 an apple during the day, a couple days in a row - I share with my sons :)

Berries are ok everyday

Well I cocked up & had parsnip soup so that was carb heavy. I don't think I'll be able to stick at it strictly but I am gonna cut down on carb. Am looking forward to the book coming

I bought it on kindle.,

So any questions I can help till u get it :) switch to sweet potato rather than parsnip - there's 2 types a pink sort and a purple type which is white inside both nice

Says root veg (carrots, sweet potatoes, parsnips, squashes, pumpkins, swedes) eat in moderation, white potatoes avoid except in limited amounts (very small amounts ) e.g a couple of roast potatoes, or a number of small new potatoes as part of a meal.

Thanks Tara honey, I just don't see for me complete carb cut out would work.... I have a bit of a fuzzy head this morning & not sure if it's a fuzzy head or low carb yesterday. Was so worried that due to the amount of fat I ate the scales would've gone up this morning but they haven't so I'll try again today & see what happens. Think I'll have a look at my Anthony worral-Thompson book see what sort of recipes he cooks....

There are so many books out there and John briffa is just one of them :) I used it as a starting place - what he says makes so much sense to me now. .. As to when I looked at it back in feb/ march time

I don't eat rice (apart from a taste to see if cooked) what's the point of eating such a small portion?? (1/2 cup cooked) I can eat veg instead, a lot of veg, for less cals. I have the same thoughts with Pasta! So no longer eat pasta.

Potatoes I have maybe once a week, if that
Bread the same

I prob miss bread the most.. But if I want bread now I eat gluten free..

I eat alternative grains, like oats just trying to avoid wheat as much as I can, just not completely because I still like choc Cheerios lol

I can't do this low carb thing, I admit defeat!!!!! Will try to be more careful but I can't cope with the high fat, I'm freaking out x

The only thing I can see that's high fat are the nuts and cheese ..
Which one is "scaring" you??

But do have chickpeas, butter beans, dried baked beans home cooked. Lentils etc. Briffa does not think much of them but I find I need them, and enjoy them. Keeps me satisfied longer.

It's taken me from feb/ march time to get my head round it :)

Eggs at breakfast then some cheese in it & then nuts but it's scaring me. Think I'll have a good read of his book & then see how I feel

I have an omelette with 2 eggs tomatoes and apetina feta light.

I don't like feta, as I said I'm gonna wait til the book comes. My main reason for this was to try & get my body fat percentage down & it's already coming down, when I first measured it was 42.7 & today it's 40.3 so maybe the exercise is doing it

Scales are being very kind today, to be honest if they said the same by next Friday I'd be more than happy!!! I think I'm going to keep some high fat snacks & try & limit carb a bit, I know I'm horrendous with bread & potato so I'm sure I can bring that down considerably....

Going to Macmillan coffee morning this morning, have made some fudge to take for them to serve with teas & coffees & will try & not let them see I'm avoiding cake, I don't actually like cake really so it won't be hard but don't want to offend, I may say I'll take it home for later & give it to Dan!
