Hi all, I was at opticians yest I enquiried bout contacts coz I only wear my glasses at work but should really wear all time for distance, anyway I go back Saturday for assessment and trial , so yest I picked new glasses but I said to the assistant I won't wear them if I'm going to have contacts but she kept saying you will find you still need glasses too , eg wen you take your contacts out in evening , I don't wear glasses at home now unless I need to read something I put them on, anyway I ended up spending £125 on glasses , then I look at the leaflet about contacts wen I get home and you get a free pair of glasses wiv the package,
I don't know what to do,
I think I might ring this morning and see if can put glasses on hold till after I tried the contacts ,

I rang and cancelled my glasses, see what happens on Saturday wiv my assessment for contacts,
They will prob poke me in the eye lol

Good luck with the contacts :) I wish I could get them, but my eyes are weird shapes, which makes it difficult! :)

Woohoo, how do you feel with them, bet its strange... I've worn specs since I was 3, couldn't imagine what life would be like without them!

It's good , I had glasses as a kid but got teenage and wouldn't wear them , as can see without them , but I'm finding lenses ok although did hav a bit of trouble this morning and that wasn't putting it in but getting it out of the solution lol, my left eye needs slight help for distance and now slightly for reading slthough the lenses I'm using are for distance and can read perfect wiv them even tiny tiny print, so happy days, my right eye is useless no matter what strength they try makes no difference , but the optician said its not the eye she said it is a perfect healthy eye but in her words it's not wired up right lol, it's not getting signals to focus between distance and near, so hence I only need to wear one contact lens, don't really know what happened but I know mum said I had measles wen only a few month old and after that they noticed my eye was turning slightly so maybe that did the damage,

Darn measles! I find eyes very interesting! When I was a kid, they told me that one of my eyes is a football shape and the other is a rugby ball shape, which is why they don't focus right. It also means I can't have the daily contacts, because they have to be "moulded" almost to my eyeball shape. I tried to get contacts when I was at uni but they have to weight them, so that they sit right and fit my rugby-ball-eye, and after 6 appointments of back and forwards, trying different weightings, it was still not right and the headaches I was getting from my eyes not focussing right - Well I just decided to give up!
Have tried once more since uni, about a year or two ago, and it was still the same.

Last quote I had for laser eye surgery was about £4600 total, so if I win the lottery...... ;)
 
Oh wow , no one could say you didn't try , they gave me dailies to Hyde for the week I go back Thursday to see how i managed,
I'm not sure what they will suggest wether to continue wiv the dailies or go onto the monthly, which ever I go for it half the price wiv me only needing one,
I don't think any surgery will work wiv it not being the actual eye that's the prob but at them kinda prices il be waiting for that lottery win also

But I did try contacts during my teens
and again.....in my 30's but when I was
in my 30's the specs just suited my face lol
I'm not me without specs
 
Yea im finding them ok In general ,

But this morning had a few attempts putting it in I could feel it on my eye but wen took hand away it was still stuck on end of my finger lol this happened bout 4 times eventually it stayed in place, not too sure wot I'm doing wrong will ask on Thursday wen I go bk,

Been hiding not been on plan, totally ashamed ,

Was mums anniversary last week had quite a bad time of it this year,
But need to dust myself off get sorted feeling sorry for my self isn't going to make anything any different,
I'm back on plan tomorrow going shopping today to stock up ,
